All the players around the table shifted their attention to Everlife Wang along with the sharp-faced man’s speech.

It had to be admitted that Player 3 possessed a certain amount of skill. At the very least, his attempt to stir up the table had worked rather well.

Before he spoke, most of the good-aligned players had already concluded that Player 10 was probably the Seer.

But after hearing him, quite a few players whose roles were good began to hesitate.

After all, in Werewolf, most good players do not see one another.

Aside from the Seer and the Witch, who could obtain considerably more information on the first night, almost all the other good roles were effectively playing from a blind perspective.

They could only determine a player’s identity by listening to their speeches and observing their demeanor.

Of course, when playing Werewolf, if you wanted to identify the wolves, you did not necessarily have to listen to the suspected player’s own speech. You could instead listen to the speeches of players in other positions.

If you determined that most of those players were good, then the remaining few could only be placed in the wolf pool.

After all, there were only four wolves in a game.

That was why, in professional tournaments, some players entered the wolf pool automatically before they had even spoken.

Still, such a judgment could only be made after roughly listening to an entire round of speeches.

There were only five players campaigning for Sheriff, so the relationships among them were relatively simple.

The good players below the Sheriff line were much harder to distinguish.

“I already said this earlier. I don’t really think Player 6 looks like a wolf. But Player 10’s ambiguous attitude toward her, together with her calling Player 10 good from that position, followed by Player 10 actually choosing to counterclaim me, makes me want to place Player 6 in the first Sheriff-check order. I want to see whether this is a situation where all four wolves have exposed themselves on the very first day.”

“Also, I think Player 7 looks like a wolf. As for why, it’s quite simple. During his speech just now, he already said that if I claimed Seer, he would definitely side with the other one…”

The sharp-faced man curled his lips and let out a cold laugh.

“Heh. I’d like to ask: neither he nor Player 11 had even heard my speech. How can they reject me, Player 3, as the Seer based solely on a read of my identity? I can’t accept such a completely illogical decision about which side to join.”

“So this game is quite interesting. It’s highly possible that three or even four wolves have entered the Sheriff race in order to squeeze the real Seer’s room to survive. The wolf team certainly has plenty of nerve. Since there are many good players below the Sheriff line, I sincerely hope everyone can see clearly that I am a good player standing here all alone, while the wolf team is trying to force the real Seer out on the very first day!”

The sharp-faced man nearly used up the entire time allotted for his speech—a full one hundred and eighty seconds. His words were heartfelt, and his attitude utterly earnest.

That torrent of speech crashed down one blow after another. It truly left several slightly confused good players dizzy, and they gradually began wondering whether Player 3 might actually be the Seer.

After hearing the sharp-faced man’s speech, Everlife Wang also nodded inwardly.

His demeanor was excellent, and his logic was reasonably sound. He had seized upon how quickly Players 10 and 11 had recognized each other and pursued the point relentlessly.

At the same time, he had rescued Player 7, using that to create the impression that he was completely isolated and without support.

A speech like this might genuinely win over several good votes below the Sheriff line.

Add to that the two wolves below the line, along with the possibility that the Witch might side with Player 3 because of the silver-water connection, and the sharp-faced man might truly have a chance of securing the Sheriff badge.

After all, from the perspective of a normal Witch, one would generally choose to save someone on the first night.

Once the Witch had saved someone, she would naturally feel goodwill toward that silver-water player.

And among the competing Seers, one of them had given his own silver water a golden-water result. The Witch might very well let affection for one player extend to another and tentatively side with Player 3.

Furthermore, if the Witch wanted to consider the possibility that the wolves had deliberately killed one of their own, then those wolves would have had to do something during the Sheriff campaign—whether by padding the vote, charging forward, or rallying votes.

They had to contribute somehow. Otherwise, what would be the point of sacrificing one of their own?

Or they could simply have sacrificed one of their own and then claimed Seer.

But this time, the self-sacrificing wolf, Player 1, had remained below the Sheriff line. Before the voting began, he was a player who had done absolutely nothing.

Under those circumstances, the Witch basically would not consider the possibility of a wolf self-kill.

The payoff was simply too low.

The wolves might as well take a gamble. What if they happened to strike the Witch?

Of course, all of that was from the perspective of a normal Witch.

If someone else had received the Witch role, they might truly have been deceived by the wolves and become a fifth wolf.

But who could blame them, when Everlife Wang was the Witch?

No matter how well Player 3 performed, it was nothing more than a dying man’s final moment of pleasure.

With that, all the players campaigning for Sheriff had finished speaking.

The players below the line were considering how they should cast their votes.

The spectators watching from outside the game also erupted into an uproar because of Player 3’s counterclaim.

“Damn, did the Witch actually poison the Seer? What’s the point of playing anymore? Is she out of her mind?”

“Don’t rush to judgment. Although Player 3’s demeanor is extremely strong, I actually think Player 10 looks more like the Seer. Player 3 is calling Players 10 and 11 a wolf pair, but does Player 11 sound like a wolf to you?”

“So what if he doesn’t? Player 11 did recognize Player 10 far too quickly. It was almost as if they had met during the night. I don’t think Player 3 is wrong. What if he really is the Seer? Then the good team loses this game outright!”

The spectators debated heatedly.

Inside the Dragon Spear team room, Chen Gang’s expression was rather grim.

As the sharp-faced man’s coach, he knew his player well.

With that player’s demeanor rising so high, there were only two possibilities.

Either he was the Seer, whose room to maneuver had been compressed by the wolves and who had no choice but to speak this way in an attempt to turn the situation around—

or he was genuinely a wolf making a forceful Seer claim, and therefore had no choice but to speak this way…

That statement seemed to say something, yet also seemed to say nothing.

But it was not meaningless.

Based on his many years of understanding his player, Chen Gang felt that the sharp-faced man really might be a wolf.

And if the sharp-faced man was a wolf…

“Coach, could Madcap actually be the wolf marksman?” one of the players behind him asked timidly.

At that moment, Chen Gang’s expression turned utterly dreadful.

After listening to the Sheriff speeches in this game, and taking Madcap’s being a wolf as the starting point, he had not heard any other wolf on the Sheriff line.

Even if there was one, there could be no more than a single wolf, and it was quite possibly Player 6.

If multiple wolves were below the line, then the strategy they had discussed that night would certainly have been to send the wolf marksman up to claim Seer.

If the Wolf King collapsed during his speech, the wolves could choose to hide behind the Seer. With no real Seer available to eliminate, the wolf marksman would be the only one they could vote out.

But if his speech held together, they would charge forward, trying to win the Sheriff badge and force the real Seer out.

Yet every one of those plans depended on Madcap still being alive in the game!

“That damn Witch… Damn it, surrender your mind!”
