Chapter 16: The Honey Badger—This Teammate Has to Be Betrayed

“Initially, after hearing Player 7’s speech during the day, I thought he seemed like a good person, but after listening to his speech at night, I’m not so sure anymore.” Player 6, a sweet girl, racked her brains trying to figure out how to handle her relationship with Player 7.
Since she was going to self-expose tomorrow, it was impossible for the Seer to leave any final words. So now, she had to speak more aggressively, ideally dragging Player 7 down with her.
But to create the illusion for the external players that she and Player 7 knew each other, she had to go along with his words.
Would that mean she had to attack Player 5 as well?
Player 6’s heart ached at the thought.
She had no choice but to do this for now.
All she could do was hope that Player 5, Flathead, would articulate himself better soon...
“Although I don’t quite understand how Player 7 managed to protect Player 9, I will listen carefully to Player 5’s speech later. If Player 5’s speech is convincing, we can consider targeting either Player 9 or someone from the later positions. As for the specifics, that depends on Player 10’s decision—I’m just offering my small suggestion on behalf of the good side.”
“Besides, I lean towards Player 7 being more likely a good player. Although I didn’t fully grasp his logic, it seems like he’s working for the good side, so I won’t attack you for now. I’ll wait to see if the Seer checks Player 9, and then listen to your second speech to better define your identity.”
“For now, I think you’re leaning towards X (good).” Player 6’s gaze shifted to the Seer and the revealed good player.
“Also, I initially suspected Player 11, but since Player 10, whom I consider the Seer, gave Player 11 a ‘golden water’ (confirmed good), I want to apologize to Player 11 for misjudging you. Since you received the ‘golden water,’ you must be a good player.”
“Now...” Player 6 was almost at a loss for words because of Wang Changsheng’s interference.
Her mind was spinning wildly.
She couldn’t come up with anything else.
The rapidly deteriorating situation had clouded her thoughts.
Finally, she pursed her lips and said, “I have no more information; I pass the mic.”
Player 6 was doing her best to buy time for her teammates.
But there was no way around it.
If she couldn’t say anything substantial and just awkwardly babbled, it would only make the external good players dislike her more.
Page 2/3
It would also make them suspect she was stalling for her werewolf teammates.
So Player 6 had no choice but to pass the mic.
[Player 5, please begin your speech.]
When it was Player 5’s turn, Wang Changsheng glanced over at him.
He had already put Player 5 on the table.
Player 1 was considered an eliminated witch.
Player 6 was about to be checked.
So only Player 5 possibly knew Player 3.
Because at Player 10’s Seer position, he would surely think that Player 3, a reckless werewolf pretending to be the Seer, wouldn’t expose all his wolf teammates during the day but might reveal one or two.
So since Player 1 wanted to take the witch’s role away from Player 7, let her have it.
If the Seer accepted Player 1 as the witch, then Player 5 and Player 6 would be in big trouble.
This was an indisputable logic.
It was also what Wang Changsheng had been guiding the Seer to consider.
“If you dare to expose all your wolf teammates, then I must cooperate with you and have the Seer expose your deep-cover wolf teammates.”
Wang Changsheng’s face was expressionless, but inside he was delighted.
The more they tried to hide, the more he wouldn’t let them.
“Player 10 can only be the Seer. As the frontline player said, if Player 3 were the Seer, this game would be unplayable, so we’ll just follow Player 10’s lead.”
Player 5, Flathead, openly acknowledged Player 10 as the Seer.
Of course, he dared not deny it.
Otherwise, he might be exposed on the very first day.
Flathead’s current goal was to play a good person in the eyes of the Seer.
Page 3/3
So the Seer would focus on the external position.
Otherwise, the werewolves would be helpless and forced to reveal their roles.
Flathead organized his words and continued: “That’s the situation, but I want to explain why I voted for Player 10.”
“Player 3 gave a ‘golden water’ to Player 1 at his position, which in my opinion, isn’t as convincing of a Seer’s move as Player 9 claimed.”
“Because Player 3 could have killed Player 1 at night and then given Player 1 a ‘golden water’ to make the witch think he wasn’t faking by killing and then clearing Player 1. But in fact, Player 3 did exactly that to put on an act.”
“In the end, he successfully fooled Player 1, the witch, but I doubt Player 3 expected that the person he killed was the witch, and the few people who sided with him were actually killed by himself.”
At this point, Flathead chuckled softly, seemingly genuinely teasing Player 3.
It felt as though he didn’t know Player 3 at all.
“On the other hand, Player 10’s ‘golden water’ to Player 11 was much more convincing. Player 11’s speech upon waking was also quite standard, so combining these two, I believe Player 10 is the real Seer. That’s why I voted for him during the day.”
“As for Player 7’s claim that if I don’t speak well, the Seer should expose me, I really don’t understand.”
“Are you the Seer?”
Player 5 looked calm and confident as he glanced lightly at Wang Changsheng.
“You haven’t even figured out if you’re a wolf or a good person, and the Seer’s ‘golden water’ is given to Player 11, not you. How dare you assign tasks to the Seer from your position? If others also changed the Seer’s day claims, then if the werewolves suddenly self-expose, who will the Seer check at night?”
“So, I think Player 7 isn’t good. His daytime speech is like a preemptive move. Without the Seer’s opening, how can he be sure which of Player 10 or Player 11 is the real Seer? Ultimately, it’s just speculation. We must listen to the Seer’s comparison speech to decide.”
“That’s why I think Player 7 standing firmly during the day is suspicious. At night, he even protected Player 9, who dared to vote for Player 3, and wants the Seer to waste a check on him.”
“Hence, Player 7’s hidden card, in my opinion, is a ticket to the wolf pit. Since he protected Player 9, his identity must be lower than Player 9’s.”
“Whether Player 9 is a werewolf or a good person, if we don’t hear wolf-like speeches from the later positions this round, we can eliminate Player 7 first.”
“As for Player 6...” Flathead paused, then glanced over Player 6 and back at Player 10.
He was about to betray his teammate!
