Chapter 54: Why Join Sky Dome Technology?

Lin Xu never expected that the final 10% of the blank space he left would be so effortlessly filled by Xu Jin.
But then again, it made sense.
The vast majority of the content was complete; the last part of the document was merely some closing remarks.
Based on the core content, anyone with experience in materials science could easily infer the final steps.
It was no surprise that Xu Jin could resolve it—if he couldn’t, it would have been a blow to his dignity as the co-inventor of these two processes in another parallel world.
This worked out well.
Lin Xu saved himself another trip into the bracelet world. Tonight, when he logged in again, he could focus on finding Bai Mo and uncovering the truth about the Zhu Rong project.
Speaking of Bai Mo…
Lin checked the time—it was already half past noon.
He decided to eat and rest a bit before the upcoming interview.
Lin hurried to find Xu Jin, who was still engrossed in the equipment after finishing the process document. But when he asked him to eat, Xu Jin didn’t want to stop.
He was eager to get started as soon as the equipment was ready.
Lin couldn’t persuade him—people with Asperger’s syndrome could be stubborn to an infuriating degree.
Resigned, Lin threatened to cancel their future collaboration if Xu Jin didn’t come with him.
Only with this coaxing and slight deception did Xu Jin finally tear himself away and follow Lin out of the factory.
“Boss, when should I come tomorrow? Can I come in the afternoon?” Xu Jin asked.
“Don’t worry, I won’t get you into trouble. I’m just here to watch,” he added.
“I need to familiarize myself with the equipment so that when it’s installed the day after tomorrow, I can start using it right away!”
“It won’t be the day after tomorrow,” Lin corrected.
“It’ll be the day after the day after tomorrow; it won’t be ready until then.”
“No, it’s the day after tomorrow! I asked them. It’ll be installed before 11:50 p.m. the day after tomorrow, and we can start working right away!”
“...Look at you, how you’ve been pushed to this point...” Lin said helplessly.
11:50 p.m.!
Down to the minute!
He couldn’t let Xu Jin stay in the factory any longer—if he did, something would definitely go wrong.
“Listen to me. I’ve already given you the materials. Take them back with you,” Lin said.
“Study them well, spend two days understanding the entire process.”
“I don’t mean just skim through it—you need to be proficient, to integrate and master it…”
“I already have integrated and mastered it!” Xu Jin said seriously.
“Boss, I’m ready. I can start working now!”
“That’s not enough!” Lin said solemnly.
“You think you’re ready, but you’re far from it!”
“Trust me, or we won’t collaborate!”
“Alright...” Xu Jin didn’t say more, simply nodding obediently.

He did listen to Lin after all.
From his perspective, Lin was a genius who descended from the heavens, not only crushing the problems he had struggled with for so long but also providing a clear path to his “ultimate goal.”
Even with Asperger’s, he could tell who was who.
After seeing Xu Jin off and helping him into the car, Lin noticed him glancing back repeatedly at the factory as he left.
But the next time Xu Jin came would be at least two days later.
Hopefully, in two days, he would bring some new surprises.
After sending Xu Jin off, Lin had a quick meal near the chemical fiber factory and then returned to Celestial Technology.
Most employees were on their lunch break, but Lin immediately noticed a girl sitting on the sofa in the reception area.
She wasn’t conventionally pretty.
Her short hair framed her ears, and she wore light makeup that was clean and understated.
Even sitting on the soft sofa, her posture was impeccable—her back straight, her figure flawless, and a hint of steely resolve in her brows.
Lin instantly recognized her.
Bai Mo.
Without hesitation, he approached and asked, “Are you Bai Mo?”
The girl lifted her head to look at him, then stood and extended her hand.
“Yes, I’m Bai Mo.”
“Mr. Lin, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”
“You look younger than I imagined.”
“You know me?” Lin asked, surprised.
“No, this is my first time meeting you,” she answered.
“But I had already spoken with Manager Jiang beforehand, so I’m familiar with the position.”
“I heard I’d be replacing a flight control engineer. Seeing you here, I guessed it must be you.”
Not bad.
Sharp, capable, intelligent.
Such qualities surely made her a candidate worthy of being an astronaut.
“Not bad...” Lin nodded.
“Why are you here so early? It’s only a bit past one.”
“Wasn’t our interview scheduled for two in the afternoon?”
“I planned to take a walk around first, get familiar with the environment.”
Bai Mo smiled.
“But after walking around, I found the area… quite simple.”
“I had an appointment with a rental agent, but his schedule didn’t match mine.”
“So I came straight to the office—might as well use the time to look up rental info.”
“You’re quite confident about this interview,” Lin said curiously.

“Confident of success?”
“Mutual selection,” Bai Mo replied.
“I think you have no reason not to hire me—I’m basically the best choice currently available on the open market.”
“Besides, I’m satisfied with what your company offers.”
“So the outcome is already decided.”
“Especially after meeting you, I’m even more certain this interview will go smoothly.”
“You’re a young man who likely won’t reject me over some ideological difference. Most of our conversation will probably be about everyday matters.”
“As for the final high-level non-technical interview… most of the time, it’s just a formality.”
Strong-willed.
Lin scrutinized Bai Mo.
If Chen Yan were the interviewer, she probably wouldn’t pass.
But Lin liked this straightforward style of communication. Even without considering Bai Mo’s crucial future role, he was willing to keep her.
With that in mind, he said, “That sounds about right.”
“You can discuss housing with Team Leader Jiang later.”
“Most young people in our company—those who haven’t bought a house—live in an apartment on Xianlin East Road.”
“The environment there is decent, and the surrounding facilities are quite complete.”
“There’s a shuttle bus in the morning, and even if you don’t want to take it, the salary for this position can easily cover daily taxi expenses.”
“Alright, since you’re here, no need to wait until two o’clock.”
“Come with me to the office. I’ll call Team Leader Jiang over, and we can discuss things together. We should be able to finalize it.”
“Alright, no problem.”
Bai Mo followed Lin into the office. When she saw the large floor-to-ceiling windows and obviously oversized luxurious office, a flicker of surprise appeared in her eyes.
Flight control engineer? Such待遇 at Celestial Technology?
No, this Lin must have been promoted.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t suddenly be hiring someone to fill his position.
Noticing Bai Mo’s thoughtful look, Lin invited her to sit on the sofa, then pulled out his phone to wake Jiang Xingye, who was still on his lunch break.
While Jiang was getting ready, Lin took the opportunity to ask a question he had to ask.
Looking at Bai Mo across from him, Lin cleared his throat.
“Let’s start now.”
“First question.”
“Why do you want to join Celestial Technology?”
“I don’t want any official answers.”
“I want the real reason!”
