Chapter 52: Dare Bully the Big Brother in My Livestream? Just Watch How I Deal with Him!
Page 1/3
Lu Jiangying watched the figure quickly approaching him while carrying a bicycle on his back, his expression growing increasingly dark. When there was a case, his younger brother was the most reliable. Without a case... well, his younger brother was the case itself! Because you never knew what trouble that kid might stir up the moment you glanced away.
“Sis, thanks for your hard work! I have something to take care of, so I’m leaving first!”
“Hey, you back there! If you don’t confess honestly, I’ll beat you up later!”
The skinny dark-skinned youth’s legs wobbled at Lu Xingzhou’s shout. Lu Xingzhou’s physique was overwhelmingly imposing. Besides, he dared not run—just now, Lu Xingzhou had carried his bicycle and ran faster than the youth could even pedal. If he got caught after trying to escape... the thought alone made his calves cramp.
“Come back here!”
Lu Jiangying called out sharply.
Lu Xingzhou stopped in confusion, still holding his bicycle.
“What’s up, sis?”
Lu Jiangying’s face was stern. “What trouble have you caused this time? Making all the cops on this street chase after you alone?”
Lu Xingzhou turned to look at the empty sidewalk.
“There’s no one chasing me, I didn’t see anyone!”
“Woo-woo~ woo-woo!”
Just as Lu Xingzhou thought he was being unfairly accused, several police motorcycles accompanied by patrol cars sped over with flashing lights.
Lu Jiangying nodded toward them. “Here come the ones who want to catch you.”
“Screech—”
A patrol car braked sharply and stopped in front of Lu Xingzhou. A middle-aged officer got out of the passenger side, looking pale. He held a half-drunk bottle of water and leaned on the door, his legs trembling as if he might collapse at any moment.
“F-finally caught up to you!”
The officer gasped out.
Lu Xingzhou pointed at himself. “Me? You were chasing me? Uncle, since when? How come I didn’t know?”
“Since the Lianfang intersection…”
“Lian—”
Lianfang Road was six kilometers from the North Ring Road.
For most people, that distance was already a hopeless number.
Lu Xingzhou looked innocent. “I didn’t feel like anyone was chasing me. Besides my sister, no one stopped me.”
The middle-aged officer felt like vomiting blood.
Was no one chasing him?
No—no one could catch up to him!

One intersection after another, officers chased him like a relay, but within three minutes, they’d lose sight of him.
One intersection after another passed along the chase, and yet they always lost him.
“I told you to stop! I told you and you didn’t listen!” The middle-aged officer took a sip of water.
Lu Xingzhou defended himself, “My ears were full of wind noise—you shout at me, I couldn’t hear you!”
He didn’t dwell on whether the police were chasing him or not. “But why were you chasing me anyway?”
The officer gave him a pitiful look. “Why are you carrying your bike and running?”
Lu Xingzhou was stunned, looking at his sister with a naive and bewildered gaze.
“Huh? Is there some traffic rule that says people can’t carry their bicycles and run?”
Lu Jiangying rubbed her forehead, already piecing together what had happened.
Sure enough, after some inquiries, everything made sense.
The entire city was on high alert for drug enforcement—tensions were high. Officers at intersections had heard that the first drug dealer caught had hidden drugs in a bicycle frame.
Just as the mood was settling, they saw Lu Xingzhou carrying his bike and dashing by. When they shouted at him to stop, he didn’t. So they had no choice but to give chase!
The result? The entire street’s police force chasing after Lu Xingzhou. Even in a Stephen Chow slapstick comedy, this scene wouldn’t seem out of place.
Lu Jiangying and Xu Hui both rubbed their foreheads in disbelief.
The middle-aged officer chasing Lu Xingzhou looked utterly defeated. He had been running for most of the day and nearly exhausted himself, only to find out they’d caught the wrong guy!
Lu Xingzhou patted the officer’s shoulder.
“Don’t be so disappointed. Give me your number. Next time there’s a case, I’ll call you—I promise I can get you a big bonus! I guarantee you’ll get at least a third-class merit this year.”
Lu Jiangying tugged on Lu Xingzhou’s ear. “I’m telling you, you better keep yourself out of trouble!”
Finally, at Lu Jiangying’s insistence, Lu Xingzhou rode his bike toward the city ring greenway.
At the entrance to the greenway, Lu Xingzhou saw someone standing atop a stone sphere by the path, holding live-streaming equipment, surrounded by a circle of cyclists.
“Our stream is hosting an event today: the challenge is to remove one part from your opponent’s bike and see who gets to the finish line first. Loser buys everyone dinner! Who’s in?”
Hearing about the event, the streamer’s followers eagerly raised their hands.
“I! Me! Me!”
The streamer was Jiang Wenpeng, a casual cyclist who mostly posed for the camera and wasn’t particularly skilled.
However, thanks to his lively hosting, his stream had many viewers.
Jiang Wenpeng looked around and saw that the participants were all regular cyclists. He hesitated—losing would be embarrassing.
Besides, Jiang was notoriously stingy; asking him to buy dinner was like drawing blood.
He then spotted Lu Xingzhou, who clearly wasn’t a regular cyclist.
“Friend, it’s you! Let’s have a match.”
Lu Xingzhou turned his head. “Me? What?”
Jiang Wenpeng raised his hand to hype up the crowd.
“Just a fun competition: remove a part from the other’s bike and see who gets to the finish first. Loser buys dinner. Just for fun. How about it?”
Encouraged by Jiang, his regular viewers started cheering.
Lu Xingzhou wasn’t shy. With so many people egging him on, he’d definitely join.
However, just then, the top donor from yesterday, the bike shop owner, sent Lu Xingzhou a private message.
“Streamer, don’t race him. That bastard loosens your derailleur or lets the air out of your tires when you’re trying to remove his parts. He got me good last time!”
As a bike shop owner and road bike enthusiast, he had been grossed out by Lu Xingzhou’s antics before.
Not expecting to run into this guy at the city ring greenway.
The top donor apparently had a grudge with Lu Xingzhou.
Originally, Lu Xingzhou hadn’t planned to waste time on such a silly contest—he had system tasks to complete.
But as a streamer, if his top donor had issues with this other guy, he couldn’t just let it slide.
“Boss, don’t worry. I’m taking the challenge. Anyone who bullies my top donor will get what's coming to them.”
Lu Xingzhou jumped off his bike. “Bring it on!”
Jiang Wenpeng’s eyes lit up—he hadn’t expected to trick someone so clueless.
Lu Xingzhou added, “Since you set a rule, I’ll add one: ‘removing parts’ means any part on the bike, including the wheels!”
Jiang Wenpeng was stunned. “Removing the wheels? How would you ride back then?”
Lu Xingzhou shrugged. “Carry it. It’s only 100 kilometers. Too scared to try? You might as well buy everyone dinner now!”
Viewers loved a good show and cheered louder.
“Streamer, don’t chicken out! If you do, dinner’s on you!”
“I can book a private room at Zhao Wang Jin Ding anytime!”
With the crowd’s pressure, Jiang Wenpeng couldn’t refuse. Heckling always backfires!
He thought it was just tough talk—he didn’t believe Lu Xingzhou could carry a bike 100 kilometers, over two marathons’ distance.
Gritting his teeth, anger in his voice, he said, “Fine! Wheels included.”
Lu Xingzhou handed his bike to Jiang Wenpeng, who gave his own bike to Lu Xingzhou.
Three minutes later, Jiang Wenpeng actually removed the wheels from Lu Xingzhou’s bike.
Lu Xingzhou returned the bike to Jiang.
Jiang Wenpeng looked at his still-wheeled bike in confusion. “What did you take off?”
Lu Xingzhou pulled a chain from his pocket. “The chain.”
As Jiang Wenpeng stared, dumbfounded, Lu Xingzhou added, “By the way, I wanted you to remove the wheels so carrying it would be lighter.”
With that, Lu Xingzhou hoisted his bike without wheels and sprinted off.
