Liu Zhizhi's heart was filled with profound shock. In the ten years of the apocalypse, an ability like this had never once appeared.

If such an ability existed, people wouldn't have had to suffer through such desperate hardships. Liu Zhizhi's mind was an absolute tangle of chaotic thoughts.

Nearby, several girls were chattering excitedly.

"Can we really eat this?"

"Of course we can, it looks so delicious anyway."

"Whatever, I'm buying one to try!"

Before she knew it, her shopping basket was packed to the brim, and that was even with her exercising restraint.

Without needing to check, she knew the three crystal cores she had set aside wouldn't be enough, so she handed another ten crystal cores to the lucky cat. If there was any excess, she'd leave it as a credit; if it fell short, she'd make up the difference later.

She stored her purchased goods into her spatial storage, scooped the pothos plant back into her arms, and was just about to head back to the base when her eyes drifted involuntarily toward the RV.

Driven by some inexplicable impulse, Liu Zhizhi changed direction and walked back toward the RV.

Lu Li was extremely welcoming to beauties. Before Liu Zhizhi could even greet her first, she spoke up, "Boss Lu, I have something to discuss with you."

Lu Li was momentarily stunned, then nodded and said, "Alright, follow me."

Liu Zhizhi boarded the RV and followed Lu Li into a small, slightly cluttered room filled with various miscellaneous items.

In the corner, there was even a burlap sack overflowing with crystal cores.

Liu Zhizhi thought to herself: Boss Lu truly treats money like dirt, possessing such selfless and noble righteousness. Opening a convenience store must simply be her way of doing charity; otherwise, how could her prices be so cheap?

What outsiders didn't know, however, was that these commodities were even cheaper on Lu Li's brain-computer interface, yielding a massive, exorbitant profit.

"Sit," Lu Li said casually, gesturing with her hand after entering.

Liu Zhizhi looked around. Where was there anywhere to sit? There were a few empty cardboard boxes, though.

*Would they even support my weight?* Liu Zhizhi muttered inwardly, yet her body was entirely honest as she walked over.

Just as she lifted her foot to step forward, a flash of white light swept across her sight, revealing a set of rosewood table and chairs. Their grain was clear, carrying the crisp fragrance of wood and looking thoroughly high-end.

"Base Leader Liu, please sit." Lu Li seated herself with poise, snapped her fingers, and two glasses of crystal-clear mineral water appeared on the table, alongside a few small plates of freshly cut watermelon, cantaloupe, and other fruits.

This was the first time anyone had ever approached Lu Li for a formal discussion, so she felt a tiny flutter of excitement.

Liu Zhizhi sat across from her, familiarly crossing her legs, resting her elbows on the edge of the table, and lacing her fingers together. She straightened her spine slightly and swept her gaze over the plates of fruit.

A flash of desire and amazement crossed her eyes. In this day and age, let alone fruit, even vegetables were hard to find; the ones grown by the Central Base were not only ugly but also unpalatable.

Lu Li used a fork to spear a piece of watermelon and offered an invitation, "Eat, don't be polite."

Seeing Lu Li swallow her bite, Liu Zhizhi reached out to fork a piece of cantaloupe and put it into her mouth. It was sweet and bursting with juice.

She subconsciously narrowed her eyes in enjoyment, almost forgetting how long it had been since she last ate naturally grown fruit like this.

The air grew quiet as the two of them inexplicably began eating fruit, not saying a single word—just eating.

It wasn't until the fruit on the plates was completely finished that Liu Zhizhi snapped out of it as if waking from a dream. She gave an embarrassed, light cough and said, "Apologies."

Lu Li shook her head, pursing her lips into a smile with faint dimples appearing, "It's nothing. Please go ahead with whatever the Base Leader wished to discuss."

*Even if you didn't bring it up, there's no way I'd be taking those fruits out again!*

"I would like to invite Store Manager Lu to operate her business inside the Blossoming Base for a few days," Liu Zhizhi said earnestly.

"Oh? Why?" Lu Li asked offhandedly. Wasn't business the same whether inside or outside?

"The Blossoming Base is the only all-female base. Our guards, cleaners, and cultivators are all women, and accordingly, there are also many the elderly, the weak, women, and children who usually have neither the opportunity nor the ability to leave the base."

"But I want to tell them that there is hope in living—at least the hope of encountering a great benefactor like Store Manager Lu." Liu Zhizhi looked directly into her eyes and said every word with absolute clarity.

Lu Li suddenly found herself hoisted onto a high pedestal, but that was fine; she knew how to climb down by herself.

She waved her hands repeatedly, "Doing business inside is fine, but putting a halo on me is not!"

Liu Zhizhi lowered her head and let out a soft laugh, a rebellious lock of hair slipping loose behind her ear. She reached up and elegantly tucked it away.

When she raised her head again, her brows and eyes were brimming with smiles, leaving Lu Li completely captivated. Her lingering glances were truly both elegant and intellectual.

"Alright, then let's make it tomorrow. How does that sound, Boss Lu?" Liu Zhizhi looked at her, seeming to seek her confirmation.

"Alright, alright, alright," Lu Li agreed. Those eyes of hers truly seemed to speak, making it completely impossible for anyone to refuse.

Having achieved her goal, Liu Zhizhi stood up, drained the water in her glass in a single gulp, and bowed deeply to Lu Li, "Then I'll be leaving first. See you tomorrow."

With that, she turned to leave, but Lu Li called out to her, "Hey! Let's add each other on the brain-computer interface."

The two successfully exchanged contact information. Lu Li felt a nameless, girlish delight; successfully adding a beauty on her contact list felt fantastic.

Stepping out of the utility room, Xiao Di was guarding the shop, while Luo Mu was also bustling around busily.

"Aren't you leaving yet?" Lu Li slanted a glance at Luo Mu and asked impatiently, his mop of blonde hair truly rather glaring.

"Not leaving, not leaving." Luo Mu was in the middle of redeeming a prize for a customer—a box of fruit. His eyes were practically glued to it, and he refused to let go of his grip.

A tug-of-war directly ensued between him and the customer. Lu Li strode over, slapped Luo Mu's hand away with a smack, handed the fruit to the customer with an apologetic smile, and then turned back to face Luo Mu.

Akimbo, she scolded angrily, "Damn it, get the hell out of here! Every single day all you do is cause trouble for me!"

Luo Mu swallowed a mouthful of saliva, his nose seemingly still lingering with the sweet fragrance of the fruit. Even though he had been chewed out from head to toe by Boss Lu, he didn't feel annoyed at all.

He merely pouted unwillingly, straightened his back, and adopted a fatalistic attitude, "Fine, I'll roll..."

With that, he swaggered out of the vehicle door, pulled his beloved motorcycle from his spatial storage—sleek-lined and predominantly black, resembling a panther coiled and ready to pounce. Luo Mu threw his long leg over the saddle, the tips of his hair swaying with the motion, leaving behind only a trail of exhaust fumes for everyone to watch.

Tang Nannann glanced over at Luo Mu inadvertently and poked her companion beside her, "So handsome! That's Luo Mu! Luo Mu from the leaderboard!"

"So what?" Her companion was fully concentrated on scratching a lottery card, answering offhand.

Tang Nannann choked on her words, "You just don't understand!" she muttered, stealing another glance in the direction Luo Mu had departed.

Directly in front of the RV was the Blossoming Base, while several hundred meters behind it lay a massive urban village with crowded and chaotic residential buildings.

The area was heavily populated, mostly by people hoping to live close to the base to catch some of its fortune and seek a measure of protection.

In a dilapidated three-story building, two grown men were peering out of a window, narrowing their eyes as they stared at the RV.

They discussed in low murmurs, "Boss, what's their background? They actually have an RV!"

The man addressed as Boss was named Liu Zhen. He was extremely burly and looked like someone who could really fight.

With a ruthless expression, he said, "Never mind what their background is, I'm definitely hijacking that RV! Go call the brothers up here!"

A moment later, the sound of rustling footsteps echoed as over a dozen burly men gathered on the third floor.

The heavy scents of unwashed hair, stinky feet, armpits, and bad breath instantly turned the air foul.

Fortunately, none of the windows had glass, allowing for a meager draft. Water resources were so scarce that taking a bath had become an extreme luxury.
