Without hesitation, Su Bai immediately began harvesting the Mantou Mushrooms. She carefully used her dagger to cut the mushrooms at the root, avoiding damaging their structure. Before long, her backpack was filled with these peculiar fungi.

“With these Mantou Mushrooms, at least we can hold out for a while,” Su Bai nodded with satisfaction, feeling a sense of relief. She knew the food problem was temporarily eased, but she still needed to continue searching for more resources to ensure the survival of herself, Bai Yu, and Pearl. She even considered cultivating these mushrooms herself.

“I’ll try once I get back,” she mused.

Just as Su Bai prepared to leave, a faint rustling caught her ear. Instantly alert, she gripped her dagger tightly and scanned her surroundings. “Could it be the Mist White Moths?” she wondered anxiously, but soon realized the sound wasn’t coming from the air.

Instead, it was a small, swift rabbit. Unlike an ordinary rabbit, this one had a single horn protruding from its forehead. The creature was cautiously watching Su Bai, apparently startled by her sudden appearance.

Su Bai exhaled quietly, then licked her lips as thoughts of various rabbit dishes crossed her mind. A sly glint flashed in her eyes. “Since I’ve run into a rabbit, don’t blame me for being impolite.”

Thanks to their telepathic bond, Bai Yu opened its small mouth without hesitation and exhaled a cold white mist. The mist spread rapidly, coating the ground and plants in a thin layer of frost. The Mist Horned Rabbit, which had relied on its speed to escape, shivered as the frost slowed its movements drastically.

Seizing the opportunity, Pearl pounced with lightning-fast claws, gripping the rabbit’s body precisely. Bai Yu didn’t waste time either, releasing white threads that swiftly wrapped the rabbit tightly.

The coordination between Pearl and Bai Yu was flawless. However, the rabbit’s will to survive was fierce; despite being ensnared by the threads, it struggled violently, trying to break free.

Seeing this, Su Bai frowned, knowing she couldn’t delay any longer. To prevent the rabbit from escaping, she quickly drew her dagger and decisively ended its life.

The moment the dagger pierced the rabbit’s body, a system notification sounded in Su Bai’s ear:

Curious, Su Bai asked, “What is this...?”

Just then, a soldier approached, holding a completed report. He said to Qin Yuke, “Team Leader Qin, we’ve nearly finished recording here. Time to move to the next location.”

Qin Yuke nodded, then turned to Su Bai. “We’re heading out. Be careful. The Mist Forest is dangerous—avoid venturing into the core.”

Su Bai nodded calmly in response. “Don’t worry, I’ll stay safe.”

Qin Yuke looked at Su Bai deeply, as if wanting to say more, but ultimately waved them off and led his team away.

Su Bai stood still, watching their figures gradually vanish into the mist.

“All right, time to go home,” she murmured, turning toward her dwelling.

Once home, Su Bai took out the supplies from her backpack and began sorting and organizing them.
