Chapter Fourteen: Eagle Claw Hook! Pisk Meets His Demise!
Ireland is dead.
Pisk clearly realized this through the communicator he carried with him.
While searching for Nara Hikaru’s trail in Ireland, his communicator had remained on. Thus, he heard every word exchanged between Ireland and Nara Hikaru, including the earlier battle and the killing.
Pisk heard it all plainly.
A chill ran through his heart.
As a veteran who had followed the organization’s boss through countless campaigns over decades, what kind of ruthless enemies had he not faced? What kind of deadly predicaments had he not been through?
But a terrifying urban legend like the “Half-Man Half-Demon, the Number One Sharpshooter”—
He had never seen anything like it, nor even heard of it!
Such a dreadful figure was perhaps only comparable in danger to someone like Plamia, who had orchestrated dozens of serial bombings and murders in Russia.
(Plamia, real name Christina Lisal, the final boss of the Halloween Bride movie.)
Pisk had no intention of confronting Nara Hikaru head-on.
If possible, he didn’t even want to see Nara Hikaru.
Even Ireland, who was at his physical peak—likely matching Pisk’s youthful combat power—was directly killed by that terrifying black-clad dual gunslinger. For his aged self to intervene now would be nothing short of suicide!
He now only hated himself for not having brought enough backup.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t be trapped in such a perilous situation!
Taking advantage of Nara Hikaru dealing with Ireland and the organization’s peripheral members, Pisk sprinted down the stairs. The strenuous effort rapidly drained his stamina.
But even though Pisk was old, his endurance far exceeded that of ordinary men.
Such intense exertion was no great strain for him.
Beep—beep—
The phone rang inside the stairwell.
Pisk instinctively wanted to hang up immediately and relocate, but he saw the caller ID.
It was a call from Gin.
He immediately turned his gaze to the Mihana Town street outside the stairwell’s transparent glass.
An antique luxury car was speeding toward them.
“The Porsche 356A… Gin’s ride!”
Pisk answered the call and urgently pleaded for Gin’s help.
“Gin, I’m almost on the first floor. Please come pick me up!”
“That guy… he’s not even human! He’s already wiped out all the organization’s peripheral members inside the car company, and even Ireland fell by his hand!”
“He’s probably still on the upper floors. I have to take this chance to escape!”
At this moment, the Porsche 356A slowly stopped not far from outside the car company.
Gin, sitting in the back seat, narrowed his eyes and looked toward Pisk’s position in the stairwell.
Then, he raised his gaze to the upper floors of the car company building.
With the keen eyesight befitting the ace of the black-clad organization’s strike team, he clearly saw a silhouette standing by the window on the upper floor, seemingly watching this place.
“Interesting…”
Gin sneered and ended the call.
He took a box beside him, opened the latch, revealing its contents.
It was the complete components of a sniper rifle.
With swift hands, Gin assembled his beloved gun rapidly.
After a quick calibration of the scope, he positioned the sniper rifle at the car’s rear window, aiming straight at the figure on the upper floor, and pulled the trigger without hesitation.
Bang!
The bullet tore through the air, heading straight for the upper floor.
However, Gin’s shot missed.
His expression shifted drastically.
At the exact moment he fired, the figure smashed through the glass and leapt downward, causing the sniper’s aim to fail.
“Is he crazy?”
Gin frowned.
He couldn’t understand why this urban legend would go to the upper floor—was he intending to jump to his death?
Vodka spoke at this moment.
“Pisk has reached the entrance! Boss, should we pull the car over to pick him up?”
…Pisk?
Gin’s gaze immediately snapped to the main entrance of the car company.
There stood Pisk, his irksome old face showing an uncontainable joy.
He was pushing open the company’s main door, running toward the car.
In that instant, Gin understood the black-clad man’s objective.
Bang!
A bullet shot downward, piercing through Pisk’s head.
The veteran instantly collapsed to the ground, motionless.
Only when his brain matter spilled from the wound onto the floor did he finally die—but his eyes remained wide open in shock.
Even in death, he did not understand why he had died.
He had no idea where the bullet that claimed his life had come from.
Gin raised the sniper rifle again, preparing to predict and fire at the black-clad man’s landing point.
But unexpectedly, Nara Hikaru, who had shot Pisk midair, aimed his pistol at a slanted window and fired again.
The window glass shattered instantly.
Nara Hikaru was still rapidly descending in free fall, yet he remained calm.
At the moment Gin was about to shoot again, predicting his landing spot,
He transformed into a shadowy figure, sweeping through the air, once more evading Gin’s gunfire.
Tracing a strange semicircle in the air, he flipped directly into the shattered window!
Crash—
The glass shattered completely as Nara Hikaru crashed through.
He rolled on the ground and got up, his black coat slightly torn by the shards, but his body unscathed, not even a scratch.
Just by looking, no one would imagine this man had just performed such a perilous maneuver.
“Gin?”
Nara Hikaru recognized the black-clad man who had just set up the sniper rifle and tried to kill him.
Although he had never met Gin in person, the striking silver hair gave away his identity.
Swish—
The eagle claw hook that had extended to grasp the window ledge retracted.
The claw, shaped like Wolverine’s claws, slid back along the chain into Nara Hikaru’s sleeve.
If no one had witnessed it, no one would have guessed that Nara Hikaru concealed such a terrifying weapon.
The eagle claw hook was a combination of eagle and tiger claw hooks.
Nara Hikaru had once used these eagle claws to kill a master swordsman wielding twin samurai swords with exquisite skill; since then, he rarely used these deadly weapons.
But now it seemed he had to unleash his full firepower, to show these guys what the...
“Fully Armed Twin Swallows” really meant.
Outside the car company, Gin’s face darkened.
He immediately ordered Vodka to drive off, ignoring the fallen Pisk.
Swish—
The Porsche 356A roared away from the car company.
Gin still couldn’t forget what he had just seen.
That black-clad man’s sleeves had extended a pair of claws like Wolverine’s, gripping the shattered window ledge with chains, swinging him in midair to enter the window!
It was like something out of a ridiculous Western superhero comic!
This terrifying black-clad dual gunslinger was utterly out of place in this world!
“…It seems we must kill him in Mihana Town at all costs, as quickly as possible.”
Gin whispered to himself.
He took out his communicator, intending to contact the organization’s boss…
Now, he needed reinforcements.
Helpers who could lure out Nara Hikaru, give him time to prepare fully, and personally face off one-on-one with this urban legend—to end it once and for all.
