Chapter Thirteen: Bug Slays the Wolf King

A small number of elite players can reach level 4, and at that point, they can lead their elite subordinates to clear these bosses. It would be very difficult for Lu Yang to kill them again, so today is the best chance for Lu Yang to defeat all the bosses.

In Giant Town, there are still two level 5 bosses: the Azure Wolf King and the Wild Bee King. Among these two, the Wild Bee King is easier to kill. Yet, these two trees were the key to defeating the Wild Wolf King.

A video from his previous life flashed through Lu Yang’s mind—a level 5 low-level account soloing the Wolf King. This took place half a month after the game’s launch and was created by one of the three legendary fire mages, the Dark Flame Mage, who was Lu Yang’s rival. It caused a huge sensation at the time.

Waiting beneath the trees for a few minutes, a silver-white figure entered Lu Yang’s attack range. This wild wolf was obviously larger and stronger than the others—exactly the level 8 boss, the Wild Wolf King.

Lu Yang hid under the two trees and conjured a fireball in his hand, hurling it at the Wolf King.

Lu Yang stood frozen, seemingly stunned, until the Wolf King leapt high and lunged at him from just five yards away. Just as it was about to land on him, Lu Yang moved.

A flash of white light, and Lu Yang vanished from the Wolf King’s sight, causing it to lose its target.

Boom.

A dull sound followed as the Wolf King looked around in confusion, trapped tightly between the trunks of the two trees, unable to move.

This was the infamous bug from Lu Yang’s past life—exploiting the game mechanics of The Second World to trap the Wild Wolf King between two trees.

Don’t think this bug is simple. It requires incredibly sharp reflexes and operational awareness. The Wolf King’s lunge is incredibly fast, leaving less than a second for the player to react. Too early or too late, and it won’t work. If too early, the Wolf King lands on the tree and jumps back; if too late, its attack deals 112 damage in one bite, enough to kill a fragile mage instantly.

Lu Yang had never tried this method before, only seen it in strategy guides. He didn’t expect to succeed on his first attempt. Watching the Wolf King struggle madly, trapped tighter between the two trees, a proud smile spread across Lu Yang’s face. He drew his Arsonist’s Staff and struck the Wolf King’s head.

A "-8" appeared above the Wolf King’s head. If Lu Yang wished, he could kill the Wolf King with physical attacks alone. But in this race-against-time leveling battle on the new server, he didn’t have that luxury. Standing still, Lu Yang began casting Fireball on the Wolf King’s head.

Patting his chest, Lu Yang silently thanked his foresight. Otherwise, he would have been sent back to the newbie village for free by the Wild Wolf King.

Calming himself, Lu Yang cast another Fireball at the Wolf King’s head. The Wolf King’s skill had a cooldown; it would take one minute before it could use Terrifying Howl again. Lu Yang decided to attack as much as possible, though his mana was still insufficient.

Like a wild bull leader, when the Wolf King’s HP reached around 4,000, Lu Yang ran out of mana again. He had to rely on the buff from the Crispy Electric Eel Meat to continue grinding, all while enduring the Wolf King’s Terrifying Howl every minute.

After an hour, Lu Yang finally wore down the Wolf King to just 30 HP. The last Fireball struck, and the Wolf King let out a reluctant wail before dying, trapped between the two trees. At the same time, a 2×2 loot box appeared near Lu Yang. Inspecting the items:
