Chapter 62: Sun Yu, the God-tier Hunter

He leaped straight from level 2.5 to level 5.
"So strong." Sun Yu raised his head to look up at Lu Yang, and then he spotted Lu Yang's name.
"Lu... Yang..." Sun Yu suddenly woke up as if from a dream, and said excitedly, "You are Lu Yang, the top expert on the domestic level leaderboard!"
Lu Yang smiled and said, "It's me."
"Expert, please carry me." Sun Yu immediately revealed his youthful nature, coming this close to hugging Lu Yang's thighs.
Lu Yang chuckled and said, "You are the first person to ask me to carry them while leveling up."
Fearing that Lu Yang would refuse, Sun Yu immediately said, "Expert, I'm very useful. I can go pull monsters, and I guarantee I'll pull you as many as you want."
Lu Yang had already intended to take Sun Yu under his wing. Hearing this, he said, "Alright then, I'll carry you through the leveling."
"That's fantastic." Sun Yu was extremely excited. If it were up to him alone, wanting to go from level 2 to level 5—even using the monster-pulling method—would be completely impossible without taking five days, not to mention working himself to death in the process.
Yet Lu Yang solved it in just one second. Anyone who didn't follow such a person to level up would be a complete idiot.
Sun Yu asked, "Expert, how do you want me to pull the monsters? I'll go right now."
Looking at Sun Yu's tender, youthful expression—the boy looked to be about fourteen or fifteen years old—Lu Yang said, "Don't be in a rush. Rest for a moment first and recover your stamina."
Sun Yu really was exhausted in mind and spirit after running such a long distance pulling more than eighty monsters while dodging the spears thrown from behind.
"Go pick up the items dropped on the ground. Take them back to sell later, and the two of us will split the earnings evenly," Lu Yang said.
Sun Yu hadn't bothered to pick up the white-tier equipment dropped on the ground. Hearing Lu Yang's words, he shook his head even harder and said, "Expert, take them all. Just bring me along to level up, I don't want anything else."
Lu Yang said, "Be a good boy. Take them because I told you to."
Sun Yu hadn't expected Lu Yang to be so righteous. He scratched the back of his head and said embarrassedly, "Then thank you, Big Brother. I won't stand on ceremony."

He truly needed these items to sell for money. Hunter players were the most depressed because the arrows they shot had to be bought with real money; although they weren't expensive, making money in the early stages of the game was simply too difficult.
Sun Yu went off to pick up the equipment and money, while Lu Yang collected the Troll Bone Chains. Once everything was gathered, he led Sun Yu back to the entrance of the Troll Forest.
Sun Yu pulled out a piece of inferior bread to restore his health and blood points. According to the game's official settings, players would also lose health if they ran for too long. If health dropped below 5%, they could only walk and not run.
Lu Yang felt a bit of pity for Sun Yu. Inferior bread tasted like absolute garbage, but since the free mode was enabled, all five sensory perceptions would be opened up—otherwise, if one were ambushed and the system didn't even send a notification, they wouldn't survive. Judging by the posture Sun Yu had used while running earlier, he must have activated the free mode.
Lu Yang took a piece of Crispy Roasted Eel Meat from his backpack and said, "Stop eating that inferior bread, eat this of mine instead."
Sun Yu took the Crispy Roasted Eel Meat, checked its attributes, and said in astonishment, "Gold-tier cooking! Expert, where on earth did you get this?"
"Want to know?" Lu Yang asked.
Sun Yu nodded quickly and said, "Eating inferior bread every day was driving me crazy with disgust."
Lu Yang chuckled and said, "I'll tell you when we part ways. This isn't much of a secret anyway, a lot of people know about it."
Xia Yuwei and her group hadn't managed to keep the secret after all; it had been discovered by a portion of the tracking players. However, it wasn't widely circulated yet, and those who knew the secret hadn't spread it on a massive scale.
Lu Yang handed Sun Yu two more groups of Crispy Roasted Eel Meat. Once Sun Yu had fully recovered, he instructed, "In a moment, go inside and pull some monsters. Don't pull too many, just twenty at a time."
"Expert, can you still cast that fireball that falls from the sky?" Sun Yu asked.
Lu Yang said, "That skill has a cooldown, but I have ways of killing monsters without it. Go pull the monsters. Oh right, add me as a friend, and notify me one minute in advance when you run back."
"Oh, okay." Sun Yu accepted Lu Yang's friend request and enthusiastically ran into the Troll Forest.
After Lu Yang waited outside for about three minutes, Sun Yu sent him a message: "Expert, I've pulled twenty monsters and I'm heading back. I'll be there in a minute."
"Got it." Lu Yang raised his staff and laid down four paths of flame in a straight line spanning twenty yards. Once the fire walls were laid out, Lu Yang stood at the end of the fire wall and watched Sun Yu come running out of the forest, closely followed by twenty trolls.
"Expert, what do I do now?" Sun Yu asked.

"Pull them towards me." After saying this, Lu Yang held his staff horizontally across his chest with his right hand, once again chanting an obscure incantation in his mouth. Meanwhile, his left hand slowly rose along with every single musical scale.
The spell he was casting this time was Luminous Flame. This spell was dropped by the Troll Shaman Watkins whom he had killed earlier.
[Luminous Flame]
Type: Fire Spell
Cost: 28 Mana
Casting Time: Instant
Description: Sprays a stream of fire forward with a range of 3 yards, dealing 64 points of fire damage to enemies in a straight line.
Originally, this was a trash skill, but in his past life, a fire mage player had modified this spell, allowing it to be charged for 10 seconds before being released.
After charging, the spray range increased to 15 yards, the width became 3 yards, and the damage dealt by the sprayed flames was four times the normal damage.
Now Lu Yang's fire mage skill level was +1, raising Luminous Flame to level 2, and its damage was increased to 174 points. After charging for 10 seconds, it could deal 696 points of damage. Combined with 191 points of magic damage bonuses, the actual damage dealt reached 887 points.
The fire wall was laid out over a distance of 20 yards. According to the game rules, staying inside the fire wall inflicted damage once per second, but there was also another calculation method: if a target ran out of one fire wall within a second and entered another fire wall, it was counted as taking damage twice.
Therefore, with the 20-yard fire wall Lu Yang laid out, relying on the trolls' running speed, trolls with 2,000 health would all die before running out of the fire wall. However, Lu Yang was worried that Sun Yu's aggro was too low while his own output was too high, which would cause an aggro shift. Although he had the Spore Cloak making this unlikely to happen, once a shift occurred and three trolls attacked simultaneously, Lu Yang would end up dead on the ground.
To prevent any accidents, Lu Yang decided to use the modified version of Luminous Flame.
As the trolls ran inside the fire wall, they took damage continuously, and their health bars plummeted rapidly. Just as the trolls were about to die, the leading three trolls that had run to a position 5 yards away from Lu Yang suddenly locked their targets onto Lu Yang.
The trolls let out an angry roar and made gestures to throw their spears. Right at that exact moment, Lu Yang finished the final musical scale in his mouth, and his left hand, held high above his head, pointed at the trolls in front of him. A torrent of flames roughly the size of a water vat violently spewed forward.
