In the evening, the setting sun melted like gold.

Jiang He carried the "Crimson Baptism" on his back as he returned to the camp. After becoming a Blood Bat Knight, his agility attribute had increased by two points. His speed and reflexes became even sharper, and his sprinting ability entered a superhuman realm that completely surpassed the theoretical limits of ordinary people. When accelerating in a straight line to his peak, the forests on both sides blurred into afterimages in his peripheral vision, retreating rapidly.

Entering the camp, the sentries saw the captain's insignia on the newcomer's khaki uniform, immediately lowering their guns to let him pass. In contrast to the relaxed atmosphere on the surface, underground, multiple snipers constantly scrutinized the passing pedestrians.

A Lemont family sub-lieutenant hurried up to him.

"Officer Rhine, please follow me. The Countess is waiting for you."

Jiang He nodded and kept pace with him. So far, the motley crowd had not yet found any trace of the rule-breaker. The hunting mission indicated that the target held a high position within Prussia's Inverted Tree Sword, which was a transcendent intelligence organization built primarily around knights. The more critical the battle situation in Rava City became, the more likely the target was to showing up, given that the British forces had every reason to secure victory here.

In front of a large military tent at the edge of the camp, a young woman, also dressed in a khaki military uniform, was patiently carving a revolver. The setting sun cast its glow upon her, seemingly outlining her in a layer of gold, giving the illusion that even if the end of the world were to arrive, the woman would continue her carving regardless.

The sub-lieutenant saluted and stepped aside.

After a second or a few minutes, Jiang He said indifferently, "I apologize for interrupting your leisure, but perhaps we should discuss your father's murderer. That is the reason I am standing here rather than anywhere else."

With a pop, the entire revolver shattered into pieces, and the intricate alchemical patterns were rendered useless halfway through their carving.

The Countess raised her head, her face wrapped entirely in bandages. She seemed completely indifferent to both her failure and the deceased old count. Catching sight of the person her uncle had selected, her unusual eyes—resembling a mix of sharp swords and flower petals—revealed a trace of surprise.

After a moment, she said in an aloof and chilly tone, "Speaking of leisure, I suppose I cannot compare to you, wearing a monocle."

The sub-lieutenant timely handed over a more detailed dossier.

The Countess continued, "Leopard Knight, speed-oriented, extraordinary sense of smell, black tear marks extending from his eyes to his mouth, high resistance to sunlight and illusion-type abilities. His hunting instincts have historically helped generations of Leopard Knights escape fatal crises. His weapon is a mystic-treasure-grade short blade; the wounds it inflicts undergo two different freezing phenomena, used to hinder movement or stop bleeding... How envious, such a convenient weapon."

Jiang He narrowed his eyes. This fellow didn't seem particularly close to her own father.

"If his intuition is that exceptional, I might not succeed in assassinating him."

"That is your problem."

The Countess cleared her throat, and then spoke in a voice as melodious as a flowing stream, her flower-sword pupils slowly rotating.

Not far away, the sub-lieutenant tightly closed his eyes and even covered his ears.

"You are wearing a military uniform, and I am wearing a military uniform."

"We are both British soldiers wearing military uniforms."

Jiang He came to a realization, and with a complex expression, he sighed, "So you are my friend."

[Prompt: You are being attacked by Hypnosis: Abyss Logic Sickness]

[Prompt: Mental attribute and resistance immunity check failed]

[Prompt: You have fallen into logic confusion]

All around was a chilly and gloomy forest, and the Countess's voice sounded exceptionally pleasant.

"Your eyesight is fine, and my eyesight is fine."

"We are both good people who do not need to wear glasses."

Jiang He gave a vague response, but offered no further reply.

The Countess smiled, and her flower-sword pupils instantly bloomed like an ocean of flowers and swords.

"We are friends, and we are also good people."

"So can you take off your monocle?"

The sub-lieutenant began to run wildly into the distance, frantically digging at his eyes in an attempt to pull off a nonexistent monocle. The three Guardian Counts of the King's Shield were the most solid barrier of the Platinum Court, among which the Black Knight supervised the cabinet and parliament, and even the king was unwilling to approach this monster at close range.

Jiang He still remained silent.

The Countess frowned. Triggering the Abyss Logic Sickness three times in a row had temporarily blurred her vision. The opponent was simply a stubborn mule; they were friends now, yet taking off a pair of glasses was treated like losing his life.

"We are friends, and we are also good people."

"So I am going to take off your monocle."

The Countess got up and stepped forward, but the moment she approached, the long spear in Jiang He's hand thrust outward. A bloody radiance imbued with corrosive power swept forth like a wild dragon, the external force channeled through his entire body forming a seamless whole. His agility attribute, as high as 12 points, made the strike incomparably swift, carrying a piercing screech.

The Spear of Longing pierced through the Countess's heart, and the next second, her body shattered inch by inch. At the entrance of the military tent, a blurred figure gradually solidified, just like tearing off a layer of mimetic camouflage.

The Countess cast a deep look at him. As long as someone threatened her, even friends and good people would be killed without hesitation; this was an aspect of his nature.

[Prompt: You have shaken off the Abyss Logic Sickness]

The next second, a small crow descended from the sky, and two black gems hit the ground, triggering a violent explosion.

Thermal radiation ignited the military tent and trees, and the shockwave swept in all directions. Layer after layer of projections left behind by hypnosis spells were torn apart. Beside the tent, a giant lemon suddenly appeared to absorb the impact, its skin breaking apart into pieces. The Countess groaned softly, propping herself up from the ground as she vomited blood mixed with visceral fragments. She hurriedly drank two small healing potions, and her deathly pale complexion slowly recovered.

A large number of soldiers swarmed over. The sub-lieutenant had been blown away and fallen unconscious, while the middle-aged colonel wore an anxious expression. Had his brother, eldest son, and eldest daughter not all perished, he would never have helped a monster in the family inherit the headship, but that did not mean the head of the Lemont family could simply die at will.

Jiang He pulled out a cinnabar mirror to hypnotize himself. The next time any mental abnormality occurred, barring a few specific exceptions, he would indiscriminately slaughter every living creature he laid eyes on.

"Neither of you move!" the middle-aged colonel shouted sternly, and the soldiers raised their rifles in unison.

"Can you not be so nervous?" The Countess walked over leisurely. "We were just greeting each other."

The middle-aged colonel instinctively took two steps back, turned around to snatch a rifle from a guard, and held it in his hands. His eyes were filled with incomparable dread. Even though the other party was his niece, a monster was still a monster. Her terrifying ability to twist logical thinking was feared by everyone like venomous scorpions.

"Chesia, I just came over to check on your condition. Forgive me, don't come any closer!"

"Fine, fine." The Countess pouting, raised her hands in surrender. "Then let's pretend nothing happened. My partner and I will continue our chat, you do as you please."

The middle-aged colonel nodded, a flash of guilt appearing in his eyes before vanishing instantly. He knew full well that his fear of Chesia had reached his bones. If not for a coincidence, he might never have realized in his life that he had a habit of drinking heavily before going onto the battlefield, and he had no awareness of when that influence had taken root.

The middle-aged colonel led his troop away without looking back.

The Countess shrugged, turned her head, and smiled. "Long time no see, I am Si Ning. Also, nice to meet you for the first time, I am Chesia. Anyway, identities and whatnot don't matter. In fact, my impression of you is already quite faint; after all, the time of my descent was half a year ago."
