Chapter 65: Thousand-Mile Location Curse
As Wangquan Baye was summarizing the lessons and gains from this battle, Tushan Yaya swayed unsteadily as she rose to her feet beside Yang Qingyuan. Pointing a finger at Yang Qingyuan and Wangquan Baye, she burst into raucous laughter.
"Wahahaha, you two good-for-nothings! You're already exhausted from just this little bit? Compared to my big sis, you two are still—*hic*—far behind!"
"Hey, watch your mouth! Why don't you mention that your big sis is hundreds of years old, while my brother and Qingyuan have only been cultivating for a little over a decade?"
Wangquan Cui immediately retorted.
"Heh, I just noticed. Could this kid be the one Qingyuan mentioned..."
Li Quzhuo cast an amused glance at the drunken Tushan Yaya, while gently nudging Li Zizai with his elbow.
"Mm, should be. There's the aura of yokai magic on her."
Li Zizai nodded, his gaze simultaneously drifting toward Dongfang Huazhu and Chihuo's group. Although they likely wouldn't mind Tushan Yaya's identity as a yokai because of Yang Qingyuan, the same couldn't be said for the rest of that party.
"Yes, yes, yes, we are indeed far inferior to your big sis..."
Yang Qingyuan got up, his eyes sweeping briefly over the solemn-faced Chihuo nearby. Clearly, the other man had also sensed Tushan Yaya's true nature as a yokai, but refrained from acting out simply because Yang Qingyuan and his companions were present.
Yang Qingyuan, however, paid them no mind. To put it bluntly, even if all three of those men teamed up and he fought them with both hands and feet tied, they still wouldn't be his match. Furthermore, they were all wearing masks right now, so they wouldn't be able to recognize his true identity, meaning there was no need to fear them spreading gossip afterwards.
"Young Master, thank you so much for saving my life today. This is your scabbard."
Ignoring the renewed bickering between Wangquan Cui and Tushan Yaya, Dongfang Huazhu knelt down beside Wangquan Baye, holding out the scabbard.
"Ah, apologies for making a fool of myself in front of you, Miss..."
Wangquan Baye hastily stood up, awkwardly straightening his somewhat disheveled attire. Strangely enough, when they first met, Dongfang Huazhu had been the one embarrassed by her unkempt appearance, but now the roles were suddenly reversed.
Yang Qingyuan stopped paying attention to the two of them exchanging tender glances and instead locked his gaze onto Dongfang Huazhu's servant.
"Mister Masked Hero, why do you keep staring at me like that..."
The servant clearly noticed Yang Qingyuan's intense look, and his eyes began to shift nervously.
Without a word, Yang Qingyuan slowly walked forward until he stood right in front of the servant. Looking down at Yang Qingyuan, who towered over him by almost a full head, the servant's heart skipped a beat.
"H-H-Hero... what... what is it?"
"Nothing. Don't move."
Yang Qingyuan spoke in a calm voice, then channeled his spiritual power to his fingertips and pressed them lightly against the servant's neck.
*Hum—*
Stimulated by Yang Qingyuan's power, a complex sealing talisman on the servant's neck instantly burst into dazzling light.
"Oh? Is this... a Thousand-Mile Tracking Spell?"
Li Quzhuo stepped closer, examining the talisman with curious eyes. He was far too familiar with the Thousand-Mile Tracking Spell; after all, his own Thousand-Mile Tracking Talisman had been partially inspired by it.
"A Thousand-Mile Tracking Spell? What's that?"
Dongfang Qinlan asked with a puzzled expression.
"It's a sensory talisman. Through this seal, the caster can perceive the location of the person marked by it from a thousand miles away, and can even see what they see and hear what they hear. Tell me, who put this on you?"
After hearing Li Quzhuo's explanation, Dongfang Qinlan's pretty face instantly darkened. If that was the case, didn't it mean that every single move they made these past few days had been secretly monitored by someone?
She knew her father well; he would never secretly place such a talisman on someone. Therefore, whoever had done this behind their backs and planted a curse on their own servant harbored deeply malicious intentions!
"Speak! What is the meaning of this? I never expected someone who looks so honest and meek like you to actually be a spy! Confess right now, or I'll let you taste the flavor of divine fire!"
Facing Dongfang Qinlan's fierce intimidation, the servant's legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the ground.
"Second Young Miss, have mercy! I... I truly have no idea how this thing got here!"
"Still refusing to tell the truth!"
Just as Dongfang Qinlan was about to teach the servant a lesson, Yang Qingyuan reached out and stopped her.
"There's no need to go through all that trouble."
"Huh? Qingyuan, do you have a way to trace it backward?"
"No, and you know as well as I am that I'm practically clueless when it comes to formations. However, I just used my spiritual power to block the perception of this tracking spell, and I'm certain the caster has already noticed the disruption. Once they realize something is wrong, do you think they'll rush over immediately to check on the situation?"
"I see! Hahaha, leave it to you, Qingyuan."
Upon hearing this, Li Quzhuo was stunned for a moment before bursting into hearty laughter.
"Heh, that's a brilliant idea. I'd love to see who runs over here in such a frantic panic later."
Before Dongfang Qinlan's voice had even faded, an angry roar echoed from the sky above.
"Bastard! Let go of my Junior Sister!"
Before the words finished echoing, a fireball of pure, pristine solar flame hurtled violently toward Wangquan Baye down below.
"Ooh, look who's here. This must be Jin Renfeng, the chief disciple of the Dongfang family, right?"
Li Quzhuo raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms as he watched Jin Renfeng display his might in the sky, forcing Wangquan Baye to dodge frantically.
"Little Sister, did you guys notify him to come pick you up here?" Wangquan Cui asked, arching a brow.
"No."
Dongfang Qinlan frowned, looking at Jin Renfeng with a gaze that grew increasingly suspicious.
"Well, that makes it interesting. How did he know you were here, then?" Yang Qingyuan added with a well-timed slash of a remark.
Hearing this, Dongfang Qinlan immediately drew her umbrella and charged forward, landing a flying kick squarely on Jin Renfeng's waist.
"Dammit! Who dares launch a sneak attack on me?!"
Clutching his side, Jin Renfeng flew into a rage. But when he turned around to look, his overwhelming anger instantly morphed into palpable awkwardness.
"J-Junior Sister?"
Dongfang Qinlan had already disliked Jin Renfeng to begin with, and now, "egged on" by Yang Qingyuan and the others, she found him more infuriating by the second. In a fit of anger, she launched herself into the air again and kicked him squarely in the other side of his waist.
"I told you to call me Senior Sister when we're outside!"
