Chapter 8: Darkness and Light
“Hey, Feng Yinyin, good morning.”
A shadow emerged from outside the teaching building and spoke.
Feng Yinyin widened her eyes and clearly saw the figure.
“It’s you, Wutian! Wait, be careful!”
Bai Ming, dressed in sportswear, effortlessly dodged the attacks from Teacher Number Eight, who was lurking on the ceiling.
“Teacher, it’s not class time yet, no need to be so enthusiastic.”
But Teacher Number Eight paid no heed to Bai Ming’s words.
Her twisted joints struck like blades—knuckles, elbows, knees—each transforming into a sharp weapon, tearing through the air with a piercing whistle.
Bai Ming barely showed signs of dodging, but at the last moment, he twisted slightly, successfully evading every strike from Teacher Number Eight.
The teacher’s face twisted 180 degrees as she let out a screech. A wave of psychic corruption tried to seize Bai Ming, while her joints contorted like a serpent’s, and her elbow smashed down like a hammer toward Bai Ming’s temple.
Unmoved, Bai Ming lightly tapped his feet and drifted backward like a falling leaf. The fierce elbow strike shattered only the afterimage.
Bai Ming chuckled lightly, “Teacher, is this all you’ve got? How am I supposed to learn from you?”
Teacher Number Eight instantly flew into a rage, but Bai Ming had already left the teaching building, leaving her to rage helplessly at the doorway.
Feng Yinyin stared in disbelief, “Are you really Wutian?”
Without exchanging a word during the fight, she had already run out of the building and now stood near the entrance, eyes fixed intently on Bai Ming.
Bai Ming revealed his ID: “Wutian: LV1. Genuine and verified.”
Feng Yinyin still remained wary. “Setting aside your strength, where have you been all these days? How have you survived while breaking the rules? And who is that girl?”
It was no wonder Feng Yinyin was cautious—she acknowledged that Wutian’s strength surpassed hers.
But no matter how strong, surviving a relentless onslaught of immortal spirits while breaking the rules was impossible.
Her gaze shifted behind Bai Ming.
A disheveled girl crouched in the shadows, a blood-red singular eye peering through her tangled hair. Her thin, bony hands beneath a sports jacket looked inhuman, eerie in their appearance.
Bai Ming smiled, “I must decline to answer such questions. Right now, you have only two choices: believe or not believe.”
“But ghosts kill without needing to act.”
Bai Ming’s reason for saving Feng Yinyin was simple: it was within his power, and Feng Yinyin had once refuted Iris’s use of him.

“You’re right, Wutian. I was reckless.”
After calming down, Feng Yinyin pondered carefully. Wutian’s words made sense, and this wasn’t a high-level dungeon; the system’s ID was reliable.
But if Wutian truly was a player, how had he accomplished those unbelievable feats?
Why was such a powerful player still at LV1?
It defied all logic!
She had once been lucky enough to see some of the legendary F-rank players, even rarer than those rated S.I'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
