My name is Chen Xiao. My father’s surname is Chen, and my mother’s surname was Xiao. When I was born, a fortune-teller said my birth chart lacked the element of water, so my parents changed the character ‘Xiao’ to one meaning ‘carefree’ and ‘elegant.’

My birthday is the fifth of May. So, ever since I was a child, I’ve had a nickname.
