My name is Chen Xiao. My father’s surname is Chen, and my mother’s surname was Xiao. When I was born, a fortune-teller said my birth chart lacked the element of water, so my parents changed the character ‘Xiao’ to one meaning ‘carefree’ and ‘elegant.’
