Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Immortal-Class Machine Race Starship
Luo Yuan stood in the wilderness zone, contentedly stroking the Moyun battle armor on his body. His Moyun Vine, though still only at cosmic level, would have no trouble breaking through to Immortal in the future as long as it was given time and resources. More than that, the vine could fight on its own, making it a rare and indispensable helper.
Beep, beep, beep.
Suddenly, a notification came through Luo Yuan’s communication device. Glancing down, he saw that one of his ten cosmic-level ninth-tier servants was requesting contact.
"Connect."
"Communication link established!"
"What is it?" Luo Yuan asked, looking at the cold, striking silver-haired, blue-eyed woman displayed on the light screen over his wrist.
"Master, Trita has discovered a Mechanical Race spacecraft in the relic site!" the woman said, her voice tinged with excitement.
"Oh? Interesting. I’ll come take a look right away. Send me the coordinates."
Luo Yuan was immediately intrigued. He knew Earth held many treasures left behind by earlier generations, but he did not know their exact locations. After all, some places were sealed by restrictions, and even the master of the Mo Yun Star, who had reached the Immortal level, had perished there before.
After receiving Trita’s coordinates, Luo Yuan forwarded them to Luo Feng, Hong, and Thunder God. The four of them rendezvoused over the Bermuda region of Earth, then turned into four streams of light and flew deep into the sea.
In the cold depths of the ocean, a massive white shadow could be seen faintly through the darkness.
"Hm?" The four of them flew closer.
A colossal silver-white pyramid floated in the water. The pyramid stood an astonishing 1,200 meters tall, far taller than any skyscraper on Earth. Suspended there in the sea, it twisted the magnetic field around it completely, something all four could sense clearly.
"It really is a Mechanical Race spacecraft," Luo Yuan said, his eyes shining.
"This is the first time I’ve seen one in person," Hong said in awe. "Mechanical Race technology is simply too advanced. You can’t tell its true class from the outside at all."
Human civilization’s technology was indeed far behind the Mechanical Race.
For a spacecraft built by humans, one could clearly determine its class, and even a scan could identify the alloy. But with Mechanical Race alloys, humans could not accurately determine the class from the exterior at all.
"Still, according to what Babata told me, this Mechanical Race spacecraft should be E-class." Luo Feng pointed toward the triangular passage opened beneath the giant pyramid. "The defenses on that passage alone are already D-class. A spacecraft like this must be at least E-class. That means it will be extremely expensive, so expensive that many domain lords couldn’t afford it."
"Oh?" Thunder God looked at Luo Feng in surprise. "That expensive?"
"Just look at its size. It’s definitely even more shocking than the so-called 'inner world treasure' that once caused such chaos across the entire Black Dragon Mountain Starfield," Luo Feng replied.
"It should be E-class. Babata’s assessment is usually very accurate," Luo Yuan said. "Trita, then you’ll be the one to enter the Mechanical Race spacecraft."
He turned and gave the order. "This is an intelligent chip. Once you reach the control room, insert it into the system."
"Yes, Master." Trita respectfully took the chip from Luo Yuan, then turned and flew straight toward the passage.
Sizzle...
From within the Mechanical Race spacecraft’s passage, three-colored beams of light instantly shot out. But Trita’s speed barely slowed as she charged directly through them.
"A Mechanical Race spacecraft..." Luo Yuan looked at the pyramid-shaped vessel before him and sighed inwardly. "The owner of this ship was an Immortal expert of the Mechanical Race."
Immortal—those two words represented absolute supremacy. An Immortal being alone was enough to overturn the entire Black Dragon Mountain Starfield.
An Immortal could smash a planet with one fist, move at the speed of light, and traverse the universe. For them, traveling back and forth between the original universe and the dark universe was as easy as eating a meal.
And yet beings of such power had died aboard the Mo Yun Star spacecraft in numbers. Luo Yuan did not dare be careless.
The four of them stood silently in the water, staring at the towering pyramid-shaped ship before them and waiting.
About five minutes passed.
"Master, it succeeded," a thought voice came through.
"Excellent." Luo Yuan’s eyes lit up.
"My subsidiary intelligence has begun infiltrating the ship’s control program. Mm, infiltration successful! Cutting off power to the hatch! Success!" Babata, linked with Little Ba, cried out in delight. "Luo Yuan, Luo Feng, come on, you can enter the ship now. No need to worry about the passage attacking you anymore. I’ve already cut off its power supply."
"Let’s go," Luo Yuan said with a smile.
The group flew toward the entrance passage of the pyramid ship.
The entrance passage was located near the lower section of the entire vessel.
It was dozens of meters wide.
Luo Yuan was protected by his force battle suit, while the surface of his skin was covered by the Moyun battle armor, shielding him completely. With a thought, a vine extended into the passage.
"Indeed, it’s safe now."
Luo Yuan flew straight into the passage, with Luo Feng and the others following beside him.
"What an unusual layout."
Once they entered the ship, they were astonished to discover that the pyramid’s internal structure was unlike the normal layouts of spacecraft in human civilization. Inside the entire pyramid ship was a single main passage, and that passage formed a ring, spiraling upward continuously like a mountain road circling a peak.
The winding passage was thirty meters wide, revolving around the center of the pyramid and rising higher and higher.
At roughly eight hundred meters above the base lay the control room.
The control room was circular, with a floor of dazzling, crystalline beauty. There was no console at all; only a huge crystal sphere hovered above the center.
"Master." Trita looked toward Luo Yuan.
"Well done," Luo Yuan said with a smile.
"Babata, check this ship," Luo Yuan called out.
"All right."
"Energy shield: intact."
"Damn it, the energy shield class is actually this high. Even ignoring the ship’s own hull defenses, just the energy shield alone is enough to withstand attacks at E9 level. In other words... if you haven’t reached Immortal, you can’t break through this layer of shielding at all," Babata’s voice echoed through the circular control room.
Luo Yuan, Luo Feng, Hong, Thunder God, and Trita were all stunned. Just the energy shield alone was this absurd...
"Attack weapons: intact."
"Damn, this is insane. The technological weapons on this Mechanical Race ship are even more outrageous than the ship your teacher had. No wonder the Mechanical Race is famous for its technology. The ship carried by an Immortal of the Mechanical Race is simply too... too extravagant. Too mad. There are actually three planet-destroying main cannons and nine E3-class laser cannons!" Babata exclaimed repeatedly.
Planet-destroying cannons were legendary technological weapons, and as the name suggested, one shot could destroy a planet. In terms of power, they were practically comparable to an Immortal being. Of course, planet-destroying cannons had their flaws as well: first, their blast radius was wide, so they could not condense their power into a single point the way an Immortal expert could. Second, they consumed an astonishing amount of energy.
The four of them had gone somewhat numb. With a weapon like a planet-destroying cannon, even a domain lord would be annihilated in a single shot, wiping out a whole group, provided there was enough energy and the target could actually be hit.
