Chapter 116: A Peerless Genius
After the giant finished explaining some precautions regarding the upcoming Genius Finals, the crowd of a thousand dispersed all at once.
Luo Yuan and Luo Feng returned to the Nine Stars Bay community on Black Dragon Mountain Island within the Virtual Universe, where Hong and Thor were already waiting.
Luo Yuan invited the three of them into the pavilion of his ancient-style palace. As they sipped exquisite tea, they exchanged knowing smiles.
“This cycle of the Reincarnation Battle is finally over. I’m almost eager to see the geniuses from other universal nations,” Luo Yuan said with a smile.
“Indeed, the Reincarnation Battle is over, but my training is far from complete,” Luo Feng sighed.
“Third brother, what have you been doing these past three years? Didn’t you even watch the Reincarnation Arena matches?” Hong asked.
“You all know me—I prefer quiet. I’ve been training in the Battle Space all this time,” Luo Yuan replied with a hint of embarrassment as he took another sip of tea. He couldn’t very well say he found those geniuses too mediocre to bother watching.
“Battle Space? Third brother, your name as the Demon King has already topped the leaderboards of the Killing Grounds. I’ve heard others talking about you there,” Thor chuckled.
“Oh? What are they saying about me?” Luo Yuan’s interest was piqued.
“Hahaha, they say you’re a pervert with a penchant for cruelty who enjoys tormenting others. It’s hilarious!” Thor laughed heartily.
Luo Yuan twitched at the corner of his mouth. It seemed his harsh treatment of those geniuses in Battle Space had become known. Perhaps next time he should have everyone sign a confidentiality agreement before the fight. Of course, he wasn’t worried that these geniuses would refuse his challenge requests in the future—after all, geniuses are proud. They might endure humiliation, but never weakness.
Strangely enough, after Luo Yuan’s “Demon King” reputation for brutality spread, instead of people refusing his challenge requests, more began to approach him proactively, especially female geniuses from various universal nations. After Luo Yuan defeated one renowned peerless genius after another, he began to wonder if they were all masochists.
...
As the internal selection of Qianwu Universal Nation had just concluded, far away in another human universal nation—the Wild Barbarian Universal Nation—the internal selection was still underway.
The Wild Barbarian Universal Nation derived its name from the two fearsome human races dwelling within it: the Manka Star People and the Wild God Clan. Both races ranked among the top ten human bloodlines across the universes. Even without cultivation, adults could easily become powerful Domain Lords. To have evolved their bloodlines to such an extent...
Inside an elliptical castle guarded by universal-level warriors stood a Manka Star youth. Two Realm Lords congratulated him.
“Congratulations, Your Highness.”
The youth, embodying the traditional handsome features of the Manka Star People, was clad in silver battle armor with black hair. He sat casually at the dining table, eating heartily while muttering, “What’s there to congratulate? It’s just one spot; hardly a big deal.”
The two Realm Lords exchanged smiles.
“Your Highness,” the slightly plump Realm Lord said with a smile, “Qianwu Universal Nation’s internal selection has ended.”
“Qianwu Universal Nation?” The Manka youth frowned, “I’ve heard of them. My father said the ‘Qianwu Sovereign’ is formidable, but in the recent hundred rounds of the Genius Battle, they haven’t produced anyone remarkable.”
“There’s one this round that requires special attention,” the plump Realm Lord said respectfully.
“Oh? Tell me.”
“Your Highness,” the plump Realm Lord said solemnly, “Qianwu Universal Nation has produced a peerless genius named Luo Yuan. He has achieved extraordinary mastery over the Ten Fundamental Laws, not only fully commanding the realms of the ten attributes but also fusing them into the legendary Chaos Domain. Ultimately, he broke through to the World Realm and single-handedly annihilated an entire World Zone. Even the Shen Divine Weapon, one of the Nine Divine Weapons controlled by the Supreme Master, is wielded by him at no less than the third level. Furthermore...”
“Ding~”
Before the Realm Lord could finish, the Manka youth’s utensils clattered to the floor. He stared at the plump Realm Lord in disbelief.
“Uncle Fat, are you joking? Is he even human? Are you sure he’s just a newcomer?” The youth’s expression said, "I’m well-read; don’t try to fool me."
The plump Realm Lord simply nodded solemnly. With a wave of his hand, a massive holographic screen appeared before them, playing scenes of Luo Yuan single-handedly destroying a world. The youth’s eyes fixed on the screen, cold sweat trickling down his forehead.
“This Luo Yuan guy is a freak. I can’t beat him. This is trouble!” The Manka youth slumped in his chair, eyes vacant as he gazed at the food before him, his appetite completely vanished.
“Your Highness, according to our intelligence and analysis, this Luo Yuan is capable of breaking into the top ten of the universal rankings. Moreover, it seems he has been hiding his true strength, and he may not have even unleashed his full power in the last battle,” the plump Realm Lord continued. “He might become the number one ranked genius in the entire universe!”
“Number one in the universal rankings? And he hasn’t even unleashed his full power? My heavens, Uncle Fat, I’m heading to train right now!” The Manka youth felt a sharp sense of crisis and rushed toward the training chamber, placing great faith in the judgment of his elders.
...
Across the vast cosmos, humans were among the pinnacle species, occupying immense territory.
At this moment, internal selections for geniuses were underway in 1,008 universal nations. Many had finished their selections. Each top talent—ranked first or second in their respective nations—was diligently gathering intelligence on potential threats from other universes.
Scenes like the one in the Wild Barbarian Universal Nation were playing out across many universes. Those who secured places in the finals learned of the terrifying existence named Luo Yuan from Qianwu Universal Nation. Feeling immense pressure, none dared to become complacent; they all scrambled to intensify their training.
...
In the vast starry sky of Qianwu Universal Nation, a giant stood amidst the cosmos. The surrounding space was utterly distorted, rendering his features indistinguishable.
“Luo Yuan, an intriguing little fellow. When I was his age, I wasn’t even a quarter as strong as he is now.
“I had him wait in the Qianwu Secret Realm to cultivate the next generation, selecting hundreds of millions of geniuses within the universal nation, training them under the best conditions in the best places. Yet, the most outstanding few chosen at the end were none who came from the Qianwu Secret Realm!” The voice rumbled like thunder, causing the nearby stars to tremble as if on the verge of shattering.
Three immortal beings clad in plain white robes bowed deeply, cold sweat streaming down their foreheads.
“What use are you all then?”
The sonorous voice struck their souls like a mighty axe, draining their faces of color as they knelt fully prostrate.
