Chapter 147 Immortal Combat Power
Virtual Universe, Prime Tongtian Mountain.
A streak of light came to a halt at the foot of the mountain, revealing Luo Yuan, fully armed.
Luo Yuan gazed ahead. At a distance by the foot of the mountain lay a burly minotaur with horns. Beside him rested a terrifying giant axe. The minotaur snored thunderously, saliva dribbling from the corner of his mouth, slowly tracing down his furry face in thin strands, dripping onto the dark rock below.
“Hey, Minotaur, I’m here to challenge Prime Tongtian Mountain!” Luo Yuan called out without an ounce of courtesy.
Startled, the minotaur’s drowsy eyes snapped open. He glared at Luo Yuan then suddenly sprang up with a powerful jerk.
“Hahaha, finally someone to play with!” the minotaur laughed heartily, throwing back his head and roaring, “White Ape, Snake Woman, all of you, come quickly!”
His voice rolled like thunder, echoing through the mountains.
Swish! Swish!
From two other directions at the mountain’s base, figures flew in. To the left came a slender ape warrior clad in silver-white armor, golden fur gleaming; he carried a black bamboo staff on his back. From the right came an eerie woman with a serpent’s tail, draped in a translucent veil.
“Haha, a bull, a monkey, and a snake—that’s not enough to satisfy my blade. I wonder what the creator of this Tongtian Mountain was thinking,” Luo Yuan chuckled.
The three gatekeepers bristled at the insult, feeling this young challenger was here to pick a fight and had not taken them seriously.
“So arrogant. Let me see what you’re made of,” the enchanting snake woman said, flicking out her frighteningly long tongue now and then. Then her alluring, moist fox-like eyes fixed on Luo Yuan. “So you’re Luo Yuan of the Prime Secret Realm, a newcomer bold enough to challenge Tongtian Mountain with such arrogance. The three of us certainly won’t hold back.”
“Enough talk. I’m in a hurry. Come on, all three of you at once!” Luo Yuan taunted, curling his fingers to beckon them.
Furious, the three unleashed their full strength to teach this brat a lesson. The minotaur swung his giant axe down with overwhelming golden primal force, tearing the very fabric of space with cracks, but Luo Yuan dodged it effortlessly.
The ape warrior rapidly lengthened his black bamboo staff, sweeping it toward Luo Yuan, only for Luo Yuan’s Sky-Splitting Blade to cleave it clean in half. The snake woman’s eyes flashed purple as she launched a telekinetic illusion. Luo Yuan countered by activating his “Cataclysmic Divine Eye.” A single glare from it caused her head to explode instantly; her lifeless body collapsed to the ground.
“Ugh, boring. You’re too weak!” Luo Yuan said, flashing twice and instantly dismembering the minotaur and ape warrior, blood spurting wildly. Without pause, he dashed toward the second checkpoint halfway up the mountain.
After a while, the minotaur, ape warrior, and snake woman on the ground revived, staring in shock at Luo Yuan’s departing figure.
“This is just a newcomer, and he wiped us out so quickly. Terrifying power!” the snake woman squinted.
“No wonder. When he killed us, he used teleportation. To master teleportation at Universe Rank level—I dare not imagine his future,” the ape warrior said, exchanging a glance with the minotaur, eyes filled with both fear and anticipation.
At the mountain’s midpoint, the gatekeepers were still the minotaur, ape warrior, and snake woman, now slightly stronger than their counterparts at the base. But Luo Yuan was unwilling to waste time and instantly obliterated them with teleportation.
Upon reaching the third tier summit, Luo Yuan found the three gatekeepers had combined their domains into a fused composite field, sparking his interest. The minotaur transformed into a colossal titan wielding two giant axes; the domain’s power amplified his divine might. The ape warrior turned his bamboo staff into a towering celestial pillar, smashing down toward Luo Yuan. The snake woman’s eyes radiated purple light as she unleashed her most potent telekinetic illusions.
“Now this is getting interesting!” Luo Yuan laughed.
He activated the “True Essence Heaven and Earth,” instantly growing into a towering giant. Looking down at the bewildered three below, his eyes gleamed with red light. Twin beams of crimson celestial light shot from his eyes—this was the third level of the Cataclysmic Divine Eye, the “Cataclysmic Divine Light.” The red beams swept across the three gatekeepers, who were utterly consumed in terror and obliterated without leaving a trace. Prime Tongtian Mountain was completely destroyed; nearby Tongtian Mountains were split in two by the aftershock of the Cataclysmic Divine Light. Rocks melted into molten lava where the red light passed, and a terrifying aura swept through the vast space, awakening the mountain’s guardian.
A lean old man suddenly appeared above Prime Tongtian Mountain, staring in disbelief at the apocalyptic scene. Squinting at the now-normal-sized Luo Yuan below, he twitched his mouth. It seemed this youngster was looking for trouble, and repairing Tongtian Mountain would come at a heavy cost.
“You little one, you’ve passed through Tongtian Mountain. Now go back!” The old man waved his hand, and Luo Yuan vanished from the mountain.
...
Virtual Universe, Yu Xiang Mountain Primitive Area, No. 112 Ancient Style Manor.
Luo Yuan sat in his study, pondering who the old man might have been. Perhaps a figure as powerful as the guardian of the Chaos Monument. But he soon forgot, for he had just received a message from Revered Unity, summoning him to the Lord’s Mansion. The Lord of Chaos City was waiting.
Not daring to delay, Luo Yuan logged off and hurried toward the Lord’s Mansion in Chaos City.
The gates of the Lord’s Mansion were always open, with frequent comings and goings.
Luo Yuan entered with ease, accustomed to visiting before to study the Heart Scar Chaos Monument, but this time he was here to meet the Lord of Chaos City.
The outer gate was always open.
Inside, however, stood stern guards—each an immortal deity in their own right.
“I am Luo Yuan, here to pay respects to the Lord,” he said respectfully.
“Enter. Revered Unity awaits you inside,” an immortal guard wrapped in crackling lightning said.
Inside the mansion, along a broad corridor, Luo Yuan quickly arrived at a plaza paved with chaotic stones. There, at a distance, stood Revered Unity, clad in his usual fiery red battle robe—this revered one clearly favored red.
“Luo Yuan, you’ve arrived. Tsk tsk tsk, the Lord sent you to challenge Tongtian Mountain, and you nearly demolished the place. Though you’re only Universe Rank Nine, your combat power must rival an Immortal, right?” Revered Unity scrutinized Luo Yuan with astonished eyes. He felt Luo Yuan far surpassed “Ke Di,” the warrior once accepted by the Lord of Chaos City.
Luo Yuan remained silent. Since his body transformed into the Chaos Divine Form, his soul, telekinesis, primal energy, laws, and genetic makeup had all improved, though he didn’t know the exact extent. He only felt immensely powerful. Hearing Revered Unity’s assessment that he already possessed Immortal-level strength delighted him greatly. When he truly broke through to Immortality, he might rival even a Revered One.
