Chapter 159: Laying the Groundwork

Primal Universe, Chaos City, Luo Yuan's private ancient-style estate.

"Hum~"

Luo Yuan's true body was teleported back from the God Kingdom of his undying slave. Feeling as though he had just taken a refreshing bath, he donned a loose robe, brewed himself a fine pot of tea in a pavilion, and soon after, Venerable Peilan walked in.

"Oh? Luo Yuan, where have you been these past few years? Somehow, the aura about you feels much stronger," Venerable Peilan asked curiously.

Luo Yuan took a sip of tea and slowly replied, "I went to a good place, obtained two inheritances, and it simply took a bit of time!"

Hearing this, Peilan did not press further. It was obvious that Luo Yuan did not wish to elaborate. She spoke calmly, "My teacher, Venerable Gui Yi, said that our Grandmaster wants you to go to the Chaos Void once you return. He has something to discuss with you!"

Luo Yuan was slightly startled upon hearing this. The City Lord of Chaos wanted to see him—one had to know that this supreme overlord adopted a hands-off approach with his disciples and rarely summoned them.

"Understood. I'll go right now." Luo Yuan set down his teacup and nodded.

***

Chaos City, Chaos Void.

The City Lord of Chaos sat upon a towering throne, with Luo Yuan standing below, accompanied by Venerable Gui Yi standing to the side.

Luo Yuan stepped forward and said, "I wonder why Teacher has summoned me?"

The City Lord of Chaos looked down at Luo Yuan, a smile touching the corner of his mouth, and slowly said, "You have acquired the complete inheritances of both the Demon Sound God General and the Frost God General. Splendid!"

Both Luo Yuan and Venerable Gui Yi down below were taken aback. Luo Yuan was startled that the City Lord of Chaos had seen right through him instantly, while Venerable Gui Yi was stunned that Luo Yuan had actually managed to obtain both complete inheritances. He himself had attempted them back in the day, yet failed to clear even a third of either. He had heard that, until now, no one had ever fully acquired both inheritances.

After a brief pause, the City Lord of Chaos continued, "Now that you have broken through to the World Lord level, take some time to head to the Outer Battlefield and accumulate military merits. You can acquire far more things there, especially military merits, which can be exchanged for even greater treasures."

Luo Yuan nodded upon hearing this. He could control his avatars to acquire merits; even if one were destroyed, it mattered little, as he could simply forge a new one.

Upon leaving the City Lord's Mansion, Luo Yuan's true body resumed his daily routine of picking up attributes in Chaos City, though he constantly maintained a wisp of consciousness to control his avatars.

In the past, Luo Yuan and Jiang Fang from Earth always met in the Virtual Universe. Ever since he relocated his two封王 (King-class) undying slaves to Earth, he could travel directly back and forth between Chaos City and Earth through the God Kingdoms of those undying slaves.

***

Earth, China, Jiangnan City, in the ancient-style palace that Luo Yuan had originally placed atop a mountain. After finishing a bout of intimacy with Jiang Fang, he spoke slowly: "Since you've reached the Universe level, I might as well give you the hundred-fold World Lord-level nutrient fluid and nourishment chambers I obtained for free from the Virtual Universe Company back then. I have no use for them anyway."

Jiang Fang nestled happily in Luo Yuan's arms and nodded.

"You've worked hard all these years. How is Earth developing?" Luo Yuan asked with a smile, lighting a cigarette.

"Mm. Over the years, relying on the resources you provided and the cultivation resources from the Virtual Universe Company, Earth now has several million Planet-level powerhouses, tens of thousands of Star-level martial artists and spiritual readers, and several hundred Universe-level powerhouses. Our strength is much greater than before."

As Jiang Fang recounted this, Luo Yuan listened while letting his hands wander. Hearing that Earth had already nurtured several hundred Universe-level powerhouses, he could not help but nod. After all, under normal circumstances, it took an entire stellar region to produce just a single Universe-level being—an existence that might emerge only once in an epoch. For Earth to produce hundreds of Universe-level powerhouses in just a few short centuries was already defying the heavens.

Luo Yuan's true body stayed on Earth for a few more months. Many of the people he had known back then had already grown old and died. In the Primal Universe, a few centuries were like a mere snap of the fingers,沧海桑田 (seas turning into mulberry fields). This made Luo Yuan's conviction to pursue eternal life and immortality even firmer.

After returning to Chaos City, Luo Yuan relied on the more than one hundred billion points rewarded from clearing the Tongtian Bridge to purchase quite a few good treasures. Among them was an Undying-level Zerg Mother Nest. Luo Yuan directly used the perfection-level *Myriad Mind Soul Control Secret Art* to force it into submission, and through massive amounts of resources, he nurtured this Undying-level Zerg Mother Emperor to the peak King-class. Following that, he had his undying slaves heavily purchase and transport Zerg corpses obtained from the Outer Battlefield in the garbage stellar regions to cultivate a Zerg legion.

As long as he gave this Zerg Mother Emperor time and resources for incubation, Luo Yuan would possess a million-strong legion of King-class undying Zerg. Harvesting the lives of alien races in the Outer Battlefield and acquiring military merits with them would be an absolute breeze.

The King-class undying slave Luo Yuan had sent to the Cailang Stellar Region brought back the Lock God Water he had snatched from that Pansy, totaling over seven hundred cubic kilometers. This was precisely enough for Luo Yuan to cultivate the Star-Eating Grass he had purchased and the Moyun Vine that had accompanied him for a very long time, enough to nurture them both to the Undying level. As for the 52 Chaos Tablets of Chaos City, Luo Yuan visited them almost every single day, solely for the purpose of picking up law attributes.

Luo Yuan was also considering breaking through to the Undying level. However, for a World Lord to break through to the Undying level, they had to venture into the spatial rifts to search for spatial fragments, then fuse those spatial fragments with their inner world to form a God Kingdom, continuously expanding the God Kingdom by fusing other spatial fragments. The only problem was that Luo Yuan's inner world was simply too vast, completely exceeding the limit of a normal World Lord, making it exceptionally difficult to find a spatial fragment suitable for fusion.

In order to find a spatial fragment suitable for fusing with his inner world, Luo Yuan directly asked Venerable Gui Yi to capture dozens of primary King-class undying prisoners from the Universe Prison. He subdued and controlled them into loyal slaves through fusion, and dispatched these King-class slaves into the spatial rifts to search for spatial fragments suitable for his own fusion.

Chaos City, Luo Yuan's private ancient-style estate. Venerable Gui Yi came over in person today.

"Luo Yuan, the application submitted by Teacher to the Human Alliance on your behalf has been approved. Originally, you had only cleared the Tongtian Mountain and Tongtian Bridge, and those old fellows argued that you had never genuinely killed a King-class undying, making it impossible to gauge your true combat strength. However, ever since you killed a Marquis-class undying and a peak King-class powerhouse with a single strike on Demon Mountain, they acknowledged that you possess King-class combat power, so you are now officially a true member of the Human Alliance," Venerable Gui Yi said with a smile.

Luo Yuan nodded; he also intended to check out this mysterious Human Alliance.

Primal Universe, Primal Secret Region.

After Luo Yuan's avatar left Demon Mountain, he directly contacted his undying slave stationed in the Primal Secret Region and teleported straight there via the God Kingdom. Here, over a hundred planets formed a massive defensive array, impenetrable even to high-tier Venerables.

Within the Primal Secret Region, the Ninth Spacetime, "Wuchen Spacetime," and Wuchen Continent was truly a vast and boundless super-continent. Every member of the Primal Secret Region was allocated a territory nearly a million kilometers in radius.

Luo Yuan's territory was located here as well, and the guard unit led by the undying captain Mengna was also stationed in his territory.

Luo Yuan browsed through the various missions of the Primal Secret Region and selected a few to complete, only to find that very few things were of any use to him. To the current Luo Yuan, only treasures above the Venerable level held any value for him. After careful deliberation, he decided to head to the Outer Battlefield to acquire military merits, because the military merit system of the Outer Battlefield could be exchanged for treasures far more abundant than the treasury of the Virtual Universe Company.
