Chapter Thirty-Four: Traveling Alone
The seven members of the Fire Hammer Squad stepped into the first floor of the HR Alliance Mall. As soon as Luo Feng entered, he was immediately drawn away by Xu Xin. The others merely chuckled at this.
On the third floor of the HR Alliance Mall, inside a private room of a tea house, Gao Feng and the others were chatting idly. Luo Yuan held his holographic phone, browsing the Warrior Forum and gathering information. After quite some time, Luo Feng returned, but his expression was less than cheerful.
"Luo Feng," Chen Gu laughed, "you had quite a long conversation with Xu Xin earlier. If you ask me, that young lady seems interested in you. It shouldn't be hard for you to win her over! And then her brother came to chat with you for ages—could it be he's eyeing you as a potential brother-in-law?"
Luo Feng gave a wry smile, a determined look flashing in his eyes.
"I think he was just looked down upon," Luo Yuan remarked, glancing at Luo Feng with a teasing smile.
"Senior Luo Yuan, how did you know?" Luo Feng turned to him.
"Take a look at this." Luo Yuan opened a post on his phone about Xu Xin, and everyone gathered around to see.
"In the warrior circles, many praise the bar in the underground alliance's first floor lobby. They say the female manager on weekends is something special. All those lechers want a taste, but after digging into Xu Xin's background, none dare make a move," Luo Yuan said with a smile.
"This female manager is actually the eldest daughter of the Xu family, one of the twelve great clans of the HR Alliance in the country. Tsk tsk, she's not someone to provoke," Gao Feng drank a cup of tea, masking his embarrassment.
"Still, with Luo Feng's potential, the Xu family might even come seeking him in the future. So Luo Feng, go ahead and pursue her boldly—we brothers support you." Luo Yuan patted Luo Feng's shoulder.
Gao Feng, Chen Gu, Wei Tie, Wei Qing, Zhang Ke, and the others all laughed. To them, Luo Feng was a spiritual master, destined for even greater strength.
"We've already taken A-grade genetic medicine. From now on, Fire Hammer Squad is all at warrior level. Come, let's celebrate—tea instead of wine, a toast!" Gao Feng raised his cup.
"Cheers!"
"Cheers!"
"I'm planning to enter the wilderness area, county 0231, alone to refine my blade skills and movement," Luo Feng announced.
"What, alone?" Gao Feng, Chen Gu, and the others' faces changed.
"Yes," Luo Feng nodded with a smile.
"It's because today you were provoked, sparking your ambition to grow stronger," Luo Yuan said slowly.
"Indeed, Senior Luo Yuan understands me," Luo Feng toasted him with a smile.
"That's good. I also plan to head into the wilderness to hunt a certain beast—I need something from them," Luo Yuan said.
The path of the strong is forged step by step through arduous training!
...
Jiangnan Base City, Northern Military District.
When the train stopped at the station in the military district, Luo Yuan, Luo Feng, and a group of warriors exited the carriage one after another.
The two walked toward the row of supply base villas, spotting members of the Tiger Fang Squad along the way. Luo Yuan cast a cold glance, causing Zhang Zehu to hide behind his squad leader.
"Who is that? Why are you so afraid?" The Tiger Fang captain frowned, looking at Zhang Zehu with disdain.
"That's Luo Yuan. He's very powerful, probably at mid-warrior level. I saw him kill a beast general-level tiger cat with a single strike in the wilderness. We wanted to ambush him, but he stopped us," Zhang Zehu explained.
"Mid-warrior level? So young, yet I've hardly heard of him among the warrior ranks. Seems he's quite low-key—a formidable opponent. Since we've offended him, let's put him on Tiger Fang Squad's priority kill list," the captain said, eyes narrowing with a mad glint. He loved hunting geniuses in the wilderness.
...
"Luo Feng, be careful of Tiger Fang Squad. They're like venomous snakes lurking in the shadows, ready to strike at any time," Luo Yuan said as they walked.
"I know. If we run into them in the wilderness, I'll wipe them out!" Luo Feng replied, murderous intent in his voice.
Luo Yuan smiled and nodded.
...
The next day, Luo Yuan and Luo Feng parted ways upon reaching county 0231. Luo Yuan was searching for high-level phantom foxes to gather spiritual attributes, and his destination was some distance from county 0231.
The sky was gloomy, the wind howled fiercely.
A figure darted through the ruins like a butterfly, producing several blurred afterimages. Luo Yuan was sprinting at full speed between dilapidated buildings, his spiritual power wrapped around his alloy boots. He leaped more than ten meters high, slicing through any beast soldier-level monsters blocking his path.
"Bang~"
Luo Yuan suddenly stopped on the rooftop of a crumbling ten-story building. He raised his left arm, and his communication navigator projected a holographic screen, displaying a satellite map with a flashing red and green dot. The green represented his current location, the red his destination.
Yesterday, someone responded to his bounty task on the Warrior Forum, claiming to have seen a beast general-level phantom fox at the red-marked area. Thus Luo Yuan decided to check it out today. According to satellite navigation, the phantom foxes were concentrated in a hundred-story skyscraper—apparently a group, which made Luo Yuan vigilant. To occupy such a building, they had to be at least mid-level beast generals.
Luo Yuan was now far from the military district and dared not fly openly through the air, as it would consume vast amounts of spiritual energy and risk encountering flying monsters.
After eating some high-energy food and drinking water to replenish his strength, Luo Yuan continued on his way.
The monsters he met were mostly beast soldier-level. Occasionally, a beast general-level creature wandered out, which Luo Yuan promptly killed and harvested for materials. He was now only interested in monsters above beast general-level, picking up and fusing attributes along the way, feeling ever closer to the war god level.
Three days later, Luo Yuan arrived at the entrance of a hundred-story skyscraper. The building was mostly intact, though the facade had peeled away, exposing steel and concrete. The glass walls at the front were mostly shattered. Looking up, he could see many monsters roaming inside.
Luo Yuan didn't know which floor the beast general-level phantom foxes were on. He summoned his shield and flew up, but couldn't see clearly through the broken glass. So he landed and began clearing the skyscraper from the first floor, killing monsters and picking up attributes—fighting and growing stronger as he went.
From the first to the fiftieth floor, it took him less than an hour. Most were beast soldier-level monster hordes; any creature blocking Luo Yuan's way lost its head in a single stroke. His strength grew noticeably, giving him a sense of leveling up and battling through a game trial tower.
Next would be the beast general-level monsters. Luo Yuan's eyes gleamed with excitement—the real hunt was about to begin.
