Chapter Seventy-Two: The Golden-Horned Behemoth
“Alright, I’ll return in thirty days. I hope you’ll have completed the purchase procedures by then!” Luo Yuan said, unhurried.
The four left the Black Dragon Mountain Empire administrative office on Biyan Star and boarded a spaceship bound for Earth.
…
Milky Way Galaxy, Earth.
Within the borders of China, Jiangnan Base City, Mingyue Residential District.
“It’s been so long since I was last here, and it’s still just like before.” Luo Yuan walked side by side with Luo Feng along the street.
“Luo Yuan, you have no idea. You’re practically a legend on Earth now—your name is known by everyone.” Luo Feng teased with a smile.
“Is that so? I’ve always kept a low profile,” Luo Yuan replied, amused.
“By the way, since you’re back, Xu Xin and I are planning to hold our wedding in two months. You must attend.” Luo Feng grinned.
“Of course, I’ll be there,” Luo Yuan responded with a smile.
The two parted ways. Luo Yuan returned to his villa, number 200 in Mingyue District. It was spotless, clearly maintained by the staff of the Extreme Martial Arts School. After a shower, he settled into the media room and began to watch the news.
As soon as he turned it on, the headlines were about him and Luo Feng being appointed as Inspectors of the Extreme Martial Arts School and promoted to national parliamentarians. The report had been running for quite some time, still generating considerable buzz. Luo Yuan merely smiled; he was nearly the lord of Earth now, and such things no longer held much interest for him.
The Bolenas family, once his enemies, had been wiped out. The HR Alliance had elected new families to fill the top ranks. All the major powers on Earth now deferred to the Extreme Martial Arts School, behaving themselves. Those previously arrogant families were now humble and low-key, and relations with ordinary citizens had eased considerably.
“Beep beep beep~”
“Luo Yuan, your subordinate Meng Yi is requesting to connect!” the intelligent assistant Xiao Ba suddenly announced.
“Accept!” Luo Yuan said with interest. His subordinates were aware of his return to Earth.
“Connection established.”
“Meng Yi, what’s the matter?” Luo Yuan asked calmly.
“Master, the egg of the Golden-Horned Beast has shown signs of movement. It’s about to hatch!” Meng Yi reported respectfully.
“Oh? Make sure to guard it well. I’ll come and have a look.” Luo Yuan replied, intrigued.
“Understood, Master!”
That afternoon, two figures shot skyward from Mingyue District, flying at incredible speed, startling the residents. At the same time, two more figures rose from Hongning Base City.
…
In the depths of the Pacific Ocean, hundreds of kilometers from the Hawaiian Islands.
Cold and dark!
In this seabed region, a massive black oval egg, about twelve meters in diameter, had lain dormant for a long time, covered with mud and weeds, nearly invisible. Years ago, monsters in the vicinity had discovered this mysterious giant egg, but none could break its shell. Eventually, the egg was ignored.
Especially two years ago, when a formidable group of humans arrived, cleared the area, and exterminated all monsters within a hundred kilometers of the egg. Since then, no trace of monsters remained here.
“Boom—boom—”
Suddenly, four figures approached rapidly. As they came into focus, it was Luo Yuan, Luo Feng, Hong, and Thor, standing steadily in midair, their powerful presence like gods descending.
“Greetings, Master!” Over fifty star-level slaves, hovering above the sea, knelt and bowed to Luo Yuan.
“Rise! You’ve done well.” Luo Yuan looked down and smiled.
The slaves stood, eyes fixed on the giant egg as before.
“Third Brother, is this the egg of the Golden-Horned Beast you mentioned?” Hong asked, examining the simulated three-dimensional projection of the black egg.
“That’s right,” Luo Yuan nodded.
“I used my mental power to probe the egg at the seabed. The life energy inside is terrifying—far stronger than planetary level!” Luo Feng said, astonished.
“How could such a dangerous thing exist on Earth, hidden so well? If it hatches while the four of us are away, Earth is doomed.” Thor frowned, rubbing his bald head.
“Crack, crack, crack~~”
Suddenly, the mysterious black egg trembled, causing some mud and weeds to slide off. In fact, for over a month, the egg had occasionally trembled, with increasing frequency. Just yesterday, it shook more than ten times.
“It’s coming! The little one is about to be born!” Luo Yuan laughed, and everyone watched the egg with interest.
“Crack, crack, crack~~”
The black egg trembled again, more mud and weeds fell away, gradually revealing strange golden patterns on its surface.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
The egg began to vibrate violently, the intensity growing. With a crisp sound, a fissure appeared on the shell, followed by several loud cracks. The shell broke open, and a dark, slime-covered “unknown creature” emerged.
“Chomp, chomp.” The slime-covered creature began devouring the eggshell as if it had been starving for ages.
It ate voraciously!
In just over ten minutes, about a third of the twelve-meter egg was gone, and the creature was fully exposed—a reptilian beast with a muscular black body covered in scales, strong limbs, scaled wings, and a tail swaying like a dragon’s.
Its head was raised, a single horn piercing the sky!
But its body was still coated in slime, obscuring its true appearance.
…
As it devoured the shell, the creature’s body grew larger, lengthening from twelve meters to sixteen meters by the time it finished. The slime was completely absorbed, and its form became clear.
“Oooh—”
A sharp, joyful sound echoed from its throat.
This was a sixteen-meter-long beast never before seen on Earth. Its black scales gleamed like deadly blades, sending chills down the spine. Its entire body—wings, limbs, tail, horn—was cold and black.
The sharp black horn bore faint, mysterious golden markings, barely noticeable unless viewed up close.
Those golden markings extended from the horn, across the head, neck, and back, as if a layer of golden armor had fused with its scales, spreading to the wings and down to the claws.
