Chapter Ninety: Annihilation
In the rear, among the thousand-man pursuers:
“Captain, they’re trying to flee!”
“We’re already several hundred kilometers from the coalition camp. All units, heed my command: close on the fourteen-man squad ahead at maximum speed and kill them.”
“Yes!”
“Yes!”
“Understood!”
In the darkness, one after another of the ninth-tier stellar-level soldiers in black alloy battle armor answered the order. Then, all at once, they erupted with astonishing speed, turning into streaks of light that stood out vividly against the night, like a thousand meteors of varying pace, crazing after the five beams of light ahead.
Those streaks from behind bore down with shocking speed. They were all ninth-tier stellar-level mentalists riding on telekinetic weapons, and in an instant the gap between the two sides had shrunk to less than a kilometer.
“What do we do?” Luo Feng, Lei Shen, and Hong all looked anxious.
Luo Yuan was speechless. At his speed, he could have shaken off the thousand pursuers behind him with ease, but Luo Feng, Hong, Lei Shen, and the others could not.
“Wipe them out!” the thousand-man captain ordered from behind.
“Yes!” came the shouted response from several hundred figures behind him.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
A torrent of telekinetic weapons, dense as a storm of arrows, tore through the air from all directions and blasted toward Luo Yuan’s group.
“Out.” Luo Yuan fixed his gaze on the incoming rain of arrows and moved his mind.
Boom!
A colossal object appeared out of thin air in front of the fourteen of them. After a continuous series of impacts, the massive object did not budge an inch. It was a disc-shaped spacecraft about one hundred meters in diameter, all black in color, rated at C9. Even a fifth- or sixth-tier universe-level powerhouse would find it difficult to damage. Luo Yuan had spent a great deal in Dragon Horn Star to buy it as a备用 craft, and he had never expected to use it today.
“A spaceship!”
“He even brought a spaceship! He must have an exceptional spatial storage item longer and wider than one hundred meters!”
“Quick, kill them.”
After their first telekinetic assault failed, the several hundred ninth-tier stellar-level mentalists immediately shifted their wills. Their weapons curved through the air like lightning, bypassing the spacecraft and slashing toward Luo Yuan and the fourteen.
“Hmph.” Luo Yuan’s powerful spiritual force shook, forming a transparent spherical barrier around all fourteen of them, which actually blocked the entire wave of telekinetic weapon attacks. Taking advantage of that moment, they flew into the spacecraft.
Rumble!
Rumble!
The outer hatch and inner bulkhead slammed shut in succession.
The ship was sealed away from the outside world.
The spacecraft rose into the sky.
“Xiao Ba, immediately activate the ship’s C6 laser cannons and wipe them out for me!” Luo Yuan ordered at once from inside.
“Received. One thousand targets locked. Automatic pursuit engaged!”
The intelligent system Xiao Ba’s mechanical voice rang out. Immediately afterward, on the top, bottom, left, and right sides of the black spacecraft, giant cannon muzzles of exaggerated and rugged design extended outward. Around them were also hundreds of small, swiveling laser barrels. Then several thick laser beams shot mercilessly downward at the thousand-man squad below. Under the sweep of those beams, the ninth-tier stellar-level pursuers were instantly vaporized, leaving not even bones behind. The ground beneath them was also plowed into several bottomless trenches.
“Quick, scatter! Scatter!”
Seeing this, the thousand-man captain trembled violently, his teeth chattering, but bound by the strict discipline of a soldier, he still shouted desperately into the crowd. Yet the next moment, he was swallowed mercilessly by a massive laser beam. The pursuers who tried to scatter were automatically locked onto and killed by the ship’s small laser turrets, which could swivel with great agility.
A few minutes later, the spacecraft ceased firing. Xiao Ba announced, “All one thousand targets have been completely eliminated.”
Hearing Xiao Ba’s report, the people inside the ship breathed a sigh of relief. But Hong, Lei Shen, and Luo Feng could not calm their hearts. These had been a thousand ninth-tier stellar-level professional soldiers, wiped out in just a few minutes. They could not help but study the spacecraft they were in with renewed seriousness.
“Old Third, your ship is incredible. If only I could get one too!” Lei Shen said enviously, rubbing his shiny bald head. Hong and Luo Feng nodded as well.
“You don’t need to envy me. You all helped during this search for Thunderstone. Once we get out, we’ll divide the treasures we obtained. Sell off what you don’t need, and the money you get will be enough to buy several ships like this!” Luo Yuan said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, the three of them all smiled with excitement.
“Let’s leave this place,” Luo Yuan said.
The spacecraft accelerated, continuously moving away from the core region of the Inner World and swiftly flying into the distance.
Along the way, they avoided numerous adventurer teams. After all, word that a spacecraft had appeared in the Inner World would be better kept quiet for as long as possible.
...
In the core region of the Inner World, inside the main tent at the heart of the coalition forces and the many armies of Holy Land Black Dragon Mountain:
“Your Highness.” A figure ran in from outside. It was Katuluo, one of Brolin’s personal bodyguards.
“Hmm?” Brolin looked over coldly.
The bodyguard was startled and hurried to his knees, bowing respectfully. “Your Highness, we just received word that the thousand-man squad we sent to pursue those fourteen people... unexpectedly, they were carrying a spacecraft, and the entire squad was wiped out!”
“What? A spacecraft?” Brolin frowned and barked. He did not care about the life or death of that thousand-man squad; it was the spacecraft that drew his attention.
“Yes, a spacecraft.” Katuluo nodded repeatedly.
The other two bodyguards kneeling nearby exchanged looks, equally stunned. Someone had actually brought a cosmic adventure ship into the Inner World... it was simply unbelievable.
“To manufacture a spatial storage item, one must cut away a section of cosmic space and seal it within the item,” Brolin thought with a frown. “The larger the space, the greater the difficulty of cutting and sealing it. A high-grade spatial storage item capable of holding a spacecraft... I’ve heard only the strong among the mighty undying beings can create such a thing.”
“And each one is extremely expensive.” Brolin narrowed his eyes in confusion. “Yet these fourteen people were actually able to bring a ship inside.”
“Interesting. It seems this fourteen-man squad has quite a few treasures in hand. Issue the order: send this fourteen-man group’s appearance, information, and so on to the seven brigades. If they find them, kill them on the spot.” Brolin said coldly.
“Yes, Your Highness!”
The three bodyguards knelt on one knee and replied respectfully.
...
The spacecraft carrying Luo Yuan and the others flew swiftly. When they were only about ten thousand kilometers from the coalition camp, they found a concealed place to land, put away the ship, and then flew toward the coalition encampment.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Following their prearranged routes, Luo Yuan, Luo Feng, Hong, Lei Shen, and the other fourteen aimed to avoid the units stationed on the plains and reach the coalition camp at the very center.
The fourteen moved with utmost caution, flying quietly along the plains under the cover of darkness. They detoured at times and flew at full speed at others. After nearly three hours, they finally saw the coalition camp.
“Phew, we’re finally here.” Several of them let out a breath.
“Stop right there!”
One of the alert squad captains outside the coalition camp shouted loudly. Behind him was an immense formation of people, more than a thousand in all. The captain’s gaze swept over Luo Yuan and the others.
“We are under the command of Lord Mieyu of Three Blade Mountain,” Luo Yuan called out.
