Regarding the Daoist Sculptor

Since I have only watched the anime of LC and haven’t finished the manga, at first I had no idea what a Daoist Sculptor was and was a bit confused when people asked me about it. Out of curiosity, I looked it up and finally understood what it meant. It turns out they are cultivators who practice immortal arts.

Here, I want to emphasize something very seriously.

Personally, I believe that different systems of power shouldn’t be compared, because their worlds are fundamentally different. Forcing a comparison to decide which is superior inevitably leads to baseless speculation. For example, if I were to compare Naruto and Luffy to see who is stronger, I doubt anyone would be satisfied with the result. The reason is simple—they don’t even belong to the same system, and their abilities don’t intersect at all. Any comparison would be illogical.

In LC, the Daoist Sculptors, though dressed in dark robes similar to the Cloths, actually use immortal arts, not the power of the cosmos. In the canonical world of Saint Seiya, whether it’s Specters, Angels, Mariners, God Warriors, or even the gods themselves, all draw upon the power of the cosmos.

Would it make sense for someone practicing immortal cultivation to fight someone using the cosmos? Is one necessarily stronger than the other? Or is the power of the cosmos superior to immortal cultivation? Any comparison here would be inappropriate.

It’s like asking which is more useful, mathematics or language arts. There’s simply no way to compare them.

That’s why I generally avoid comparing different power systems, and it’s also why I’m not fond of writing about cheat abilities that cross worlds.

A cheat within the same system is acceptable—like a high-level magical treasure in a cultivation novel. But if my protagonist in Saint Seiya wielded the Primordial Golden Cauldron and started a massacre, it would just feel out of place.

So, please don’t ask me about Daoist Sculptors or cultivators. All the characters in my book use the power of the cosmos; there are no immortal cultivators. With everyone operating under the same system, comparisons become much more natural and harmonious.
