Chapter 129: The Trial of Kiki
"Bastard, let me go! Let me go right now!"
Little Kiki struggled desperately, attempting to use his own psychokinesis to counter Yin Shiqi’s and break free from the invisible bindings. Because his focus had shifted, the skeletons that had been surrounding the two men lost their control and collapsed into piles on the ground.
However, a child who had not even ignited his Cosmo could hardly be a match for Yin Shiqi. While Yin Shiqi did not specialize in psychokinesis, his Silver Saint-level strength was undeniable; it was more than enough to handle not just a psychic like Kiki, but even other Bronze Saints.
In the end, despite struggling with all his might, Kiki remained trapped, and Yin Shiqi hoisted him into the air with a psychic grip, bringing him directly before them.
"This little guy is the one who was playing tricks on us?" Shun asked, looking at the young boy with the distinctive circular red marks on his forehead. He found it hard to believe that he had been so thoroughly spooked by such a small child.
"Yes, it’s him," Yin Shiqi said with a smile, releasing his hold.
Finally free, the boy immediately covered his backside and scurried backward, facing the two men.
"What are you doing?" Yin Shiqi asked in surprise at the boy's odd behavior.
"Aren't you going to spank me?" Kiki replied, looking tense and defensive.
"I’m not that bored!" Yin Shiqi couldn't help but laugh. Given his strength, it would have been effortless to punish the boy, but he hadn't forgotten that Kiki was under the protection of the Aries Gold Saint. If he actually struck the boy, he would have no way to explain it to Mu later.
Unfortunately, the boy was deeply suspicious and did not fully believe him. He carefully confirmed, "You’re really not going to spank me?"
"What benefit would I get from hitting you?" Yin Shiqi countered with a smile.
Kiki rolled his eyes and shook his head. "None!"
"Exactly!" Yin Shiqi spread his hands and chuckled. "Since there’s no benefit, why would I waste the energy?"
Hearing this, Kiki finally let his guard down and let out a long sigh of relief. "Phew, that was close—"
Beside him, Shun pointed to the bones on the ground and asked with a smile, "Hey, little one, were you the one controlling those skeletons to scare us?"
"Hmph!" Kiki glared at him, puffed out his chest, and said, "I have a name, it’s Kiki! You are not allowed to call me 'little one'!"
"Bleh!" He pulled down his lower eyelid and stuck out his tongue at Shun. He could tell that of the two intruders, this delicate-looking fellow who resembled a girl was the easiest to bully.
Faced with Kiki's disdainful attitude, Shun didn't get angry. Instead, he patiently asked again, "Then, little Kiki, please tell us, was it you who controlled those skeletons to scare us?" He still found it hard to believe that this harmless-looking child was the one behind the mischief.
Kiki clasped his hands behind his head and said impatiently, "You really are slow! Can’t you even tell that?"
"Is there anyone else here besides me?" Compared to the dangerous man who had captured him, this delicate youth was truly exasperating.
"But how could you..."
Before Shun could finish, Yin Shiqi urged, "Alright, Kiki, lead the way. We can talk more on the road!"
"Follow me!" Kiki nodded, waved, and began leading the way while whistling.
On the road, Shun asked curiously, "Kiki, how are you able to use psychokinesis?" He had observed the boy closely and confirmed that he had not ignited his Cosmo. It was extremely strange for a boy to use such power without a burning Cosmo.
Kiki walked ahead, skipping along. "This is the talent of our Jamir clan; we are born with the ability to use psychokinesis."
"A talent?" Shun was astonished. It was the first time he had ever heard of such a race.
"Senior, have you heard of this?" Shun asked Yin Shiqi.
Yin Shiqi thought for a moment and said slowly, "People like Kiki, born with the ability to use psychokinesis, do exist in human society. We generally call them psychics. Such people are born different; even without igniting their Cosmo, they can utilize a portion of its power to display extraordinary abilities. Because of this, they are well-suited for training and can easily ignite their Cosmo to master its full potential. However, such people are rare; you might not find one in a hundred million. According to Sanctuary records, the Jamir clan to which Kiki belongs is a race with a high birth rate of such psychics, so calling it a talent is quite accurate."
Hearing this, Kiki turned around, walking backward while facing Yin Shiqi. "I didn't expect you to know so much!"
"I know far more than you can imagine, little brat!" Yin Shiqi said with a knowing look.
Kiki’s eyes darted around, and he immediately pointed to the bones scattered within the stone forest. "Then let me test you—do you know where these skeletons came from?"
Shun glanced at the dense piles of bones in the forest, his expression tightening. "Could it be that these were all travelers who lost their footing and died here?"
"Idiot! Moron!" Kiki glared at him and added, "There are at least hundreds of thousands of bones buried here. How could so many travelers die in one place?" Losing one's footing was a rare event, and given how remote this place was, it was impossible to have so many remains.
Shun was left speechless.
"Do you know where they came from?" Kiki asked Yin Shiqi.
"What do I get if I answer correctly?" Yin Shiqi asked with a smile.
"Nothing!" Kiki shook his head.
"Then I won't answer," Yin Shiqi said, folding his arms.
"You... you..." Kiki was so frustrated he couldn't speak. He wanted to challenge Yin Shiqi to regain the dignity he had lost earlier, but Yin Shiqi refused to engage, leaving him helpless.
The boy frowned and thought for a long time before gritting his teeth. "If you answer correctly, I will help you beg Master Mu to reinforce your Cloths while he repairs them!"
Seeing the Cloth box on Shun's back, it was easy for him to guess that the two had come seeking Master Mu’s help. He offered the only thing he had that would be highly attractive to a Saint.
"Cloth reinforcement is possible?" Shun was surprised. It was the first time he had heard of such a thing.
Yin Shiqi explained earnestly, "In the Age of Myth, the alchemists of the Jamir clan forged the eighty-eight Cloths for the Goddess. Although the techniques for forging them have been lost, they still possess the skills to repair them. Reinforcing existing Cloths is not impossible."
