Chapter 140: Mu's Deployment
The moment the order was given, the Sea Warriors were as if injected with adrenaline, excitedly beginning their search for the intruders.
It had been a very long time since they last laid eyes on an intruder; idle in the Realm of Poseidon, they felt as though coral was practically growing all over their bodies.
Now that they finally stumbled upon one, naturally, they were not about to let the opportunity slip away.
Over at the mine, keeping a close eye on the movements within the Realm of Poseidon, Mu realized immediately that their infiltration had been exposed when he saw the Sea Warriors abandon their previous lax demeanor and begin a massive, sweeping search of the surroundings.
"The Sea Warriors have begun their search. The two of you must hurry!" he reminded them via telepathy.
"Understood, Mr. Mu!"
Hearing this, Yishishi and the other dug with even greater vigor.
Meanwhile, Mu stood on guard while transmitting his voice back to the Sanctuary in Greece using telepathy.
"I am Aries Mu. I am currently mining orichalcum on the seabed of the Pacific Ocean. The Sea Warriors have been alerted. I ask everyone to lend me a hand."
In the Cancer Palace, Deathmask leaned against a stone pillar, facing westward as he teased, "After more than a dozen years, I thought you had forgotten all about us comrades-in-arms!"
Down on the seabed, Mu replied with a cold face, "That is a line I should be asking you, isn't it? Wasn't the Cancer Gold Cloth you are wearing repaired by my hands?"
"Oh, apologies, apologies! I actually forgot about that little detail!" Deathmask laughed heartily.
The two did not deliberately hide their conversation from the others. In the Leo Palace, Aiolia chimed in warmly, "Mu, what do you need us to do?"
"I need everyone to provide me with some cover, to prevent me from being besieged by multiple Marina Generals!" Mu replied earnestly.
Under normal circumstances, the Marina Generals would not easily leave their Mammoth Pillars, but just in case, he had to make alternative preparations.
A momentary carelessness could cost him his life.
"So to speak, you want us to hold back the other Marina Generals for you?" Aiolia tested the waters.
"Exactly!"
Mu nodded, then added, "You do not need to leave the Sanctuary. It will be sufficient to launch ranged probe attacks against the various Mammoth Pillars to force them to stay behind."
He was well aware that Gold Saints were not permitted to leave the Sanctuary at will.
Therefore, he chose to have the Gold Saints launch long-range attacks to pressure the Marina Generals and provide cover for him.
In the Aquarius Palace, Camus listened and said gravely, "The distance from the Sanctuary to the various oceanic realms is not very far. Within the Twelve Palaces, the only ones possessing the capability for such long-range attacks are Aiolia, Shaka, Shura, myself, and Master Dohko of the Five Old Peaks."
"We can hold back five Marina Generals for you. What do you plan to do about the remaining two?"
Aside from the five of them, the others were not completely incapable of long-range attacks, merely unpracticed in them.
Especially when spanning such a distance to execute ultra-long-range attacks potent enough to threaten Marina Generals—who were themselves at the Seventh Sense realm—the attackers undoubtedly needed exceptionally strong long-range combat capabilities.
Deathmask and the others were naturally excluded.
Mu replied unhurriedly, "Half a year ago, I had an exchange with two Marina Generals from the Pacific realm. I have confidence in my ability to block their joint attack with 'Crystal Wall'."
"I would just ask you all to help me hold down the other five!"
Seeing how confident he was, Camus said no more, immediately cutting off the communication to discuss individual targets with the other four.
In the Pacific realm, noticing that no one had transported any ore out of the mine for a long time, some Sea Warriors went to investigate.
Before even reaching the mine, they spotted a purple-haired man with circular dots for eyebrows from afar.
Recognizing him instantly as the intruder ordered to be hunted down by Lord Bian, they prepared to sound the alarm. Alas, the moment they laid eyes on Mu, Mu had already thrown his punch.
The gale of his fist, mixed with the power of his Cosmo, transformed into countless streaks of golden light that shot toward the group.
Bang, bang, bang!
With their mouths agape, before they could even cry out, they were struck down one after another by Mu's light-speed fists.
"The first batch of investigating Sea Warriors has arrived. Prepare yourselves for battle as well!" Mu reminded the other two once more.
He could easily foresee that after this group lost contact, a second batch of Sea Warriors would soon follow.
No matter how cleanly he disposed of them, it could not conceal the fact that these Sea Warriors had gone missing.
Consequently, more and more Sea Warriors would come to investigate, until their cover was completely blown.
At these words, Yishishi channeled his Cosmo into the thumb ring on his left hand, instantly watching it transform into trails of silver light that wrapped around his body, finally turning into a suit of silver armor with blue trim.
"Shun, you should put on your Cloth as well!" Yishishi continued digging while shouting a reminder to the young man beside him.
A Saint without a Cloth would have a drastically lower defensive capability, making their survival rate a matter of grave concern.
Shun looked up, casting an envious glance at the armor he wore, and replied, "I am truly sorry, Senior; I have not yet passed my master's trials to obtain a Cloth of my own."
"Huh??"
Caught completely off guard by this sudden revelation, Yishishi was stunned.
Only now did he suddenly realize why Shun had brought June's Chameleon Cloth for repairs, yet had never mentioned bringing his own.
It was because Shun had not yet earned his own Cloth at all.
Helpless, he could only resume digging while instructing, "Then you must be sure to protect yourself!"
"Yes, I understand, Senior!" Shun nodded.
Soon, the second wave of investigating Sea Warriors arrived.
Unfortunately, against Mu's light-speed fists, ordinary Sea Warriors at the mere Sixth Sense realm were no match at all, falling to the ground without even a chance to call for help.
With a second wave, there would be a third and a fourth, but as long as no Seventh Sense Sea Warriors were present, no matter how many Sixth Sense Sea Warriors came, they were merely feeding fish.
However, the Sea Warriors were not complete fools; the mass disappearance of their comrades made them realize something was amiss.
Soon, the fifth wave of Sea Warriors arrived.
However, this time there were many of them. Unlike the previous investigative squads of a dozen or so, this was a veritable army of hundreds of Sea Warriors.
At their lead was a man wearing a distinct dark-gold Scaled Armor—none other than the guardian of the North Pacific, Sea Horse Baian.
"We meet again, Aries!" Looking at the purple-haired man with dotted eyebrows, Baian offered a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
Half a year ago, they had crossed paths on the western shore of the Pacific.
Yet on that occasion, the three Marina Generals of their side had been given a thorough beating by that old coot Dohko.
Had the opponent not been aged and frail, unable to sustain the battle, the three of them might have perished on the spot.
Because of this, the three had been harboring a deep resentment, constantly seeking an opportunity for revenge, and now they finally had their chance.
On the other side, recognizing his "old acquaintance," Mu felt no joy in the reunion; instead, his expression grew even graver.
This was the Realm of Poseidon, shrouded by the God of the Sea's divine domain. A Saint's power would be suppressed, while a Sea Warrior's power would be amplified.
With the tide turning against them, the situation was vastly unfavorable to their side.
"Aries!"
Silently, he transmitted his telepathy back to the Sanctuary, awakening the Aries Gold Cloth resting within the Aries Palace.
In an instant, the previously dim armor burst into brilliant radiance, transforming into a streak of golden light that soared out of the temple and shot toward the distant Pacific Ocean.
