Chapter 143: Sudden Crocodile Attack (Part Two)
Making a swift decision, the crocodile snatched up a nearby ore basket and hurriedly retreated.
Clang!
Due to his momentary hesitation, the crocodile's evasion was ultimately a beat too slow, and the sword qi radiating from Yishihachiro's hand brushed past its arm.
Regrettably, Yishihachiro's usually infallible sword qi left only a shallow scratch on the creature's arm.
"This fellow really has thick skin and flesh!" he sighed helplessly.
This crocodile was none other than Renekton, whom he had once encountered by the Nile River. A distinct scar still lingered on the creature's lower jaw—left precisely by the time Yishihachiro had pierced its mouth. There could be no mistake.
Maintaining his guard, he called out to the young boy on the ground, "Shun, are you alright?"
"Cough, cough, cough..."
Shun spat out two mouthfuls of blood, struggling to push himself up from the ground. However, the movement aggravated his injuries, causing him to gasp in sharp pain, unable to rise at all.
"Senior... my ribs and leg bones... have all been shattered..." he could only lie on the floor, replying weakly.
Hearing this, Yishihachiro turned his left hand palm-up. A crystalline water droplet was already restrained in his palm by psychokinesis.
That was the Lunar Dew he had extracted from the Crater Cloth.
"Open your mouth and swallow this!"
Supporting the droplet with his mind, he guided it right before Shun's eyes.
"You might as well stop struggling and just die here!" Taking advantage of the opening, Io of Scylla coldly swung his fist toward the two of them.
"The Serpent Strangler!"
In an instant, a python nearly ten meters long materialized, lunging viciously at them.
Not daring to be negligent, Yishihachiro hurriedly forced the water droplet into Shun's mouth, pushed his own Seventh Sense to its absolute peak, and slashed downward with a hand-blade with all his might.
"Holy Sword Slash!"
Fortunately, there was some distance between them; otherwise, given the speed gap between him and a Gold Saint, he would have had no chance to retaliate at all.
Swish!
The power of his Cosmo transformed into a sharp, silver blade of energy, meeting the giant python head-on.
Slash!
The silver blade cleaved against the python's head, leaving only a shallow gash—far from enough to cut it in half.
Seeing this, Io could not help feeling a trace of surprise.
"For a mere Silver Saint, to achieve this much is quite impressive!"
The vast chasm between the Seventh Sense and the Sixth Sense was insurmountable.
In an instant, the giant python broke through the barrier of the sword qi and reached the pair. Before they could react, it immediately coiled its long body around Yishihachiro and Shun, trapping them right in the center.
Meanwhile, taking advantage of the chaos, Renekton tried to slip away quietly, but his path was cut off in advance by Bian of Sea Horse.
"Where do you think you're going?" Bian said to him coldly.
This was the territory of Lord Poseidon, not a place just anyone could enter, especially monsters whose souls had been tainted by extraterrestrial evil gods.
Appearing here was a grave dereliction of their duty and an act of disrespect toward Lord Poseidon!
He could not simply turn a blind eye.
Clutching the ore basket tightly, Renekton replied in a muffled voice, "I have already found the Orichalcum ore that Lord Sobek requested. I am taking them all back!"
He could not identify mineral materials himself, but Sobek had previously seared the exact appearance of Orichalcum into his memory and cognition, allowing him to recognize it at a glance.
Just as he could instantly distinguish the species of fish in the Nile River.
Even though he did not know what Lord Sobek wanted these stones for, he would faithfully execute the task assigned to him.
"Everything in the abyss belongs to the great Sea Emperor Poseidon! You shall take nothing, and you will leave your life here! You damned monster!" Bian sneered and threw a punch.
"God's Breath!"
As his fist struck forward, a swirling vortex-like tornado immediately formed, spinning toward Renekton like a drill.
"So powerful!"
Sensing the dangerous aura contained within the hurricane, Renekton instantly realized he was no match. He immediately hugged the ore basket to his chest and curled up into a ball.
Boom!
The hurricane roared past. Renekton's curled body crashed to the ground like a boulder. Aside from numerous fractures on his scale armor, he remained largely uninjured overall.
"How is that possible?"
Bian was utterly astonished at the sight.
He could clearly perceive that the crocodile possessed only the Sixth Sense and had by no means reached the Seventh Sense, yet it had taken his signature technique head-on and emerged completely unharmed. This was simply incredible!
Suddenly, as if thinking of something, he uttered two words with a grave expression.
"A divine emissary?"
Under normal circumstances, the Sixth Sense could never withstand a Seventh Sense attack, but there was one special exception.
Those individuals were naturally favored by the gods, chosen as vessels for divine incarnations, and hailed as the earthly proxies of the deities; consequently, their vitality was exceedingly tenacious and difficult to extinguish.
Clearly, he had happened to run into one today.
On the other side, Io expressionlessly controlled the giant python to tighten its coils, preparing to crush the two trapped inside to absolute death.
"Die!"
"This is bad!"
Yishihachiro's heart tightened at the sight.
The giant python had coiled into a tight formation, trapping them in the center with no route of escape remaining.
At that moment, another familiar Cosmo aura emanated from beneath their feet.
"Crystal Wall!"
The giant python abruptly tightened its long body, but a transparent barrier had already enclosed the two in advance. No matter how hard it squeezed, it could not shake the defense by even a fraction.
Immediately afterward, a golden figure walked leisurely out of the rubble behind them, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and said coldly, "I'm not dead yet! Are you all in such a rush to lay hands on my juniors?"
"Hmph!"
Io let out a cold snort and canceled his attack, causing the giant python to instantly dissolve into thin air.
Relying on himself alone, he could never shatter Mū's Crystal Wall.
Escaping the crisis, Yishihachiro immediately used telepathy to ask, "Mr. Mū, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, just sustained some minor injuries!" Mū replied with absolute calm.
Protected by the Gold Cloth and his own Cosmo to cushion the impact, the earlier explosion had not caused him much harm.
"By the way, how is Shun?" Mū glanced at the feeble youth on the ground.
"He is heavily injured and has lost the ability to fight!" Yishihachiro replied instantly.
Originally, he could have completely cured Shun's injuries with the Dew, but the battles in North America had taught him a lesson: he would no longer waste the Dew carelessly.
Especially now, when he had not accumulated much of it to begin with.
Extracting just a small portion to keep Shun alive was quite enough.
The two did not deliberately conceal their telepathic conversation from the youth, and Shun immediately felt a pang of guilt. "I am truly sorry... I have caused trouble for both seniors..."
"This is not your fault; it is my failing for not protecting you all properly!" Mū shifted his gaze to the other side, toward Renekton, who was still intercepted by Bian.
He could perceive that Renekton's strength was not weak—at least reaching the upper tier of Silver Saints. Combined with the element of a sneak attack, it was utterly impossible for Shun, whose power was merely Bronze-tier, to fend him off.
At that very instant, seeing Mū's attention shift, Io seized the opportunity to launch a renewed assault.
"Queen's Stinger!"
