Regarding the Sea Generals

Because the Sea Emperor was not fully awakened, the powers of the Mariners were restricted—that is Kurumada's original setting.

So, what should the original strength of the Mariners actually be?

Personally, I believe it should at least be the Seventh Sense. Just like Deathmask, who is often called the weakest Gold Saint, he undeniably possesses the Seventh Sense.

Why do I think the Mariners' strength is at least the Seventh Sense?

Because in the Sanctuary, as well as in the Underworld, those with only the Sixth Sense are basically just third-rate fodder.

Looking at the grand picture, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon are gods of the same tier, roughly equal in power.

Back then, to prevent a war among brothers, Zeus divided the world evenly: the Underworld went to Hades, the realm of the sea went to Poseidon, and he himself ruled the divine realm.

In other words, the strength and influence of these three fellows should not differ by all that much.

How vast the Underworld is goes without saying—it certainly isn't any smaller than the human realm. So, how vast is the marine realm?

If the marine realm consisted only of the tiny, palm-sized Temple of the Sea God shown in the original work, Poseidon would likely have fallen out with his two brothers long ago!

This is why I set the area of the marine realm to encompass all the world's oceans.

Well, I digressed. Let's get back to the Mariners.

Hades has the One Hundred and Eight Specters. Their strengths vary, but overall, the number of Specters possessing the Seventh Sense shouldn't be much less than that of the Sanctuary.

What about the marine realm?

In the original setting, the only ones who could actually fight were the Seven Mariners.

Comparing it to the Underworld, if the Seven Mariners lacked the strength of the Seventh Sense, how could the marine realm stand on equal footing with the Underworld? Wouldn't that be a bit too pathetic?

If they hadn't even reached the realm of the Seventh Sense, the Sea Emperor himself would probably feel like swatting them to death.

Therefore, at their peak, the Seven Mariners should at least be at the upper-middle level of Gold Saints. Their current state has declined somewhat, but it will not fall below the Seventh Sense.

Aside from the Mariners, to make the marine realm look like a proper superpower, I have also introduced a few sea deities, holding a status similar to the Twin Gods under Hades.

You will have the opportunity to see who they are in due course.
