Let me tell you something else.
Today, I received a generous reward of ten thousand points from a reader, and I felt both happy and conflicted.
How should I put it? Subscribing to a book doesn’t actually cost much. If we calculate based on one chapter costing ten points (about one cent), with each chapter around two thousand words—which is roughly my subscription rate, though I can’t speak for others—then ten thousand points would be enough to subscribe to about a thousand chapters.
So, when it comes to rewards, ten thousand points is actually a lot. I don’t encourage readers to reward me; enjoy the story as you please, but there’s absolutely no need to reward such a large amount—a small token is more than sufficient.
A substantial reward honestly feels a bit overwhelming in my hands. Strictly speaking, for a reward of this size, I ought to add extra chapters, but I simply can’t manage it.
I’m not the type of writer who can produce words quickly; I need time to think through the plot, and sometimes a single chapter takes four or five hours to write. Besides, I’m not particularly industrious (ashamed to admit). Adding extra chapters is truly difficult for me.
Just managing to avoid delays and interruptions from writer’s block is already a blessing. So here, I want to sincerely apologize to the friend who rewarded me with ten thousand points—I’m truly sorry.
Additionally, I solemnly declare to everyone: I will not add extra chapters in response to rewards. Please be cautious when rewarding—think carefully, think carefully, think carefully!
In fact, for writers like us, receiving your rewards is itself a form of recognition. There’s really no need for large rewards. If you simply can’t resist, a small amount for fun is enough.
As an author, what I hope for most is your support through legitimate subscriptions.
Finally, let me repeat this important message three times: Be cautious when rewarding! Be cautious! Be cautious!!!
