Chapter 153: The Final Monster Siege Begins

“Ding~! The siege battle will last for 10 hours. Players, prepare to fend off the invading enemies! During these 10 hours, any player who dies will have their level reduced by one. If the main city falls, an additional five levels will be lost. Moreover, players who die during the siege will be forcibly logged out.”

Damn it! This siege battle couldn’t have come at a worse time—my rare date just got completely ruined! As I fumed, suddenly a swarm of monsters burst out of the snow around me: snow lions, snow foxes, snow apes—countless creatures from the snowy mountains surrounded us on all sides. At that moment, Huanyue sprang to her feet; silently, the Phoenix Battle Blade and the Dance of Fine Snow appeared in her hands. Then she charged into the monster horde, trailing a long phantom after her. The chilling screams and wails of the monsters erupted instantly.

Within minutes, a thick carpet of monster corpses had piled up around us. Huanyue turned and said, “Let’s head back to defend the city!”

I was stunned, only snapping out of it when she asked me. After exiting combat mode, I tried to use a Return Scroll, but suddenly a system message flashed—

“Ding~! The Conspirator has activated a wide-area interference spell. No teleportation items may be used during this siege battle, and logging out is disabled!”

What... this means players will have to accept the level penalty. Since the Return Scroll was useless, we had no choice but to fly back ourselves. I summoned the Dragon War Steed, and along with Huanyue, we headed toward Sky Dragon City.

But we hadn’t flown far when a massive black cloud appeared before us, rapidly advancing our way. As it drew closer, its true form became clear—it wasn’t a cloud at all, but a formation of countless flying predators!

There were level 40 Golden Eagles, level 45 Fierce Eagles, level 50 Unicorn Hawks, level 52 Windwing Birds, level 58 Gale Falcons, level 60 Metro Claw Eagles, level 62 Azure-Eyed Golden Eagles, and level 65 Griffins. Among them loomed a gigantic green bird, its fiery eyes marking it as none other than the level 55 boss—the Storm Hawk!

This Storm Hawk was enormous, its wingspan stretching nearly thirty meters—a true aerial overlord.
