Shen Zhuyun delivered a powerful kick that sent Chen Yu tumbling under the bed. This was the "Cut-off the Descendants" kick she had diligently practiced for days. Whether intentionally or because Chen Yu dodged slightly, the kick was clearly off-target, but it still landed on him eventually.

"You must be dreaming! My mother already left, so why didn’t you call me?" Chen Yu protested.

"I saw you were so into it, I couldn’t bear to interrupt you! Besides, your moans were really quite lovely, much better than those women in those little movies!" Chen Yu rubbed his nose, feeling the impact of the kick. His wife’s strength had certainly grown, and the fleeting glimpse of a certain scene left him savoring the moment.

Shen Zhuyun glared fiercely at him, her mouth twitching as if to say something sharp, but in the end, she chose to ignore Chen Yu. Perhaps she thought the more she engaged with him, the more outrageous his words would become, so it was better to keep silent and let him realize on his own.

Then she wrapped herself tightly in the quilt and lay down, forgetting to even fold the small mattress. She closed her eyes, hoping to fall asleep, but found slumber elusive.

After seeing her settle, Chen Yu shook his head and quietly spread the small mattress on the floor. That night, he surprisingly gave up the bed to his "wife" and lay on the mattress filled with Shen Zhuyun’s scent, also struggling with sleep.

The next morning, Xu Ruizhi looked at the two of them with a smile and nudged her daughter with her elbow, whispering, "The little girl really enjoyed herself last night, didn’t she? Moaning so seductively—looks like we might have a grandchild soon!"

Shen Zhuyun’s cheeks flushed, and she hurried through breakfast before heading to the company.

"Yu’er, you see how much Zhuyun cares about her company. If you have time, why don’t you go help her out? Honestly, with your ability, you probably don’t even consider her company worth much. And now that the Shen family has you, there’s no need to rely on her business, but it’s still her heart and soul. Helping her out a bit would be good—it’s also good for your marriage to grow closer!"

Xu Ruizhi smiled warmly, truly hoping the young couple would do well and soon welcome a healthy baby boy.

"Yes, son-in-law, after all, Zhuyun is a woman. Honestly, I think the company should have been closed long ago. But your mother is right—it’s her life’s work. If you can take care of it, that’s wonderful. Also, with grandma’s birthday banquet coming up soon, helping her with the company could free her time to prepare with you," Shen Chengde added.

Only Shen Youlin pouted, "I was hoping my brother-in-law would take me out to play!"

She still remembered the reward her brother-in-law owed her but hadn’t decided what it would be yet. She planned to seriously think it over but wanted to use this chance to have him spend some time with her.

Chen Yu nodded slightly. It was indeed time to visit Shen Zhuyun’s company.

He patted Shen Youlin’s head gently. "Don’t worry, brother-in-law never forgets his promises. Don’t be impatient—focus on school first, and when there’s time, I’ll take you out."

Xu Ruizhi now realized her youngest daughter truly liked this brother-in-law, so she didn’t object to their interactions and even felt a bit happy. Rarely was the family so harmonious, and she believed the Shen family was truly changing.

Though Shen Youlin looked a little disappointed, she obediently nodded. She was a completely different child now—no longer proud or haughty, but much more gentle.

...

In the executive office of Xinzhu Cosmetics Company, Shen Zhuyun had shed her at-home demeanor. A trace of worry creased her brows. Her company’s products, distributed through the Bai Corporation’s stores, had not gained the market share she expected. The products sat on shelves untouched by customers, leaving her deeply troubled.

As a result, the company had suffered losses for two consecutive quarters. Rumors spread, many employees feared layoffs, and the capable talents were quietly seeking other opportunities.

As the old saying goes, when the spirit is broken, leadership becomes difficult.

But Shen Zhuyun was not one to give up easily. If the products were lacking, she would find a way to improve them. Fortunately, the research and development team shared her determination. These talented individuals were truly the company’s backbone, working day and night to develop new products aimed at breaking the company’s current predicament.

They had even hired a chemistry professor to help solve the company’s research challenges, hoping to create a distinctive product and reclaim market share.

However, Shen Zhuyun was so busy that the R&D team had not yet informed her about the professor's involvement, perhaps waiting to present a surprise once progress was made.

After working through the morning, Shen Zhuyun put down her pen and massaged her temples, preparing to have her assistant pour her a cup of coffee.

Knock knock!

Someone knocked on the door.

"Come in!" Shen Zhuyun composed herself and said.

In walked Wei Jiadong, the company’s sales director.

He maintained his usual suave appearance, neatly dressed in a suit and tie, exuding gentlemanly charm. He showed no sign of resentment despite Shen Zhuyun’s repeated rejections.

In his eyes, if a woman like Shen Zhuyun were easy to win, it wouldn't be interesting, and she wouldn’t be worth his efforts.

He was confident that one day, by his skill and persistence, this ice-cold CEO would become his lover.

"Director Wei, is there something you need?" Shen Zhuyun separated work from personal feelings. As the company’s head, she wouldn’t dismiss him simply because of his persistent advances.

Moreover, he was truly competent. Without the several big deals he secured, the company might have already collapsed. She was genuinely grateful for that.

"President, this is the marketing plan for next quarter. Please take a look," Wei Jiadong placed a file on her desk, still watching her intently.

"Good, I trust your work. If there’s nothing else, you may get back to it," Shen Zhuyun said.

She looked up and noticed he had no intention of leaving. She asked, "Is there more?"

Wei Jiadong smiled with charm. "President, you really must personally review this document!" He pushed the file closer to her.

Curious, Shen Zhuyun opened it, revealing a pink envelope decorated with hearts— a love letter.

Her expression darkened instantly. "Director Wei, this is a workplace, not a place for childish tricks."

Wei Jiadong chuckled softly. "Actually, I have a fantastic strategy that can pull our company out of the mire. But you have to agree to have dinner with me tonight, and I’ll explain it face to face. I promise you’ll be satisfied!"

Shen Zhuyun snapped the file shut and tossed it on the desk. "Director Wei, if you think this small company can’t accommodate someone like you, you’re free to look elsewhere. I detest using work as leverage for personal gain!"

Wei Jiadong was indeed capable, but Shen Zhuyun knew he probably stayed here because of her. While she appreciated his efforts and tolerated minor distractions, she was uncomfortable with anyone leveraging their position for personal reasons.

He remained unfazed, smiling warmly. "President Shen, Miss Shen, I only resorted to this because you always refuse my dinner invitations after work. I couldn’t think of a better way. Don’t take it personally. If you truly care about the company, I think this meal is worth your time."

"Out!" Shen Zhuyun pointed directly toward the door.

"Miss Shen, I hope you’ll think carefully about what I said. I really do have a way to revive the company and even double its size," Wei Jiadong said with a gentle smile, glancing at her frostily stern face, which only made him more determined.

As he left the office, a beautiful female employee dressed in a low-cut office outfit approached, swaying her voluptuous hips with a smile. "Director Wei, what did you do to get the CEO to kick you out?"

It was obvious Wei Jiadong was very popular among the female staff. He was not only charismatic and skilled but also seemed to be the office ladies’ ideal man.

Wei Jiadong shrugged. "What else? I just handed her a love letter and angered our ice queen CEO."

The female employee giggled, her ample bosom bouncing enticingly.
