After removing the quilt from her, Chen Yu initially intended to also take off Zhu Shaoqi’s patient gown, but after some thought, he decided against it. When dispelling poison through the body, the pores inevitably release a foul, fishy stench of toxins, so being unclothed is best. However, Chen Yu felt that doing so might be disrespectful to Zhang Tianyou, so he let it go.

“Jiaolong King, please summon a drop of the Water of Forgetfulness!” Chen Yu silently implored.

“Chen Yu, do you realize the Water of Forgetfulness is no ordinary substance?” came the lazy voice of the Jiaolong King.

“I used a drop on your wife before, which completely transformed her constitution. I’ve told you, practicing dual cultivation with her would help improve your cultivation, yet you’ve made no move. You’ve wasted my efforts. And now you want a drop of the Water of Forgetfulness for another woman? First, you need to tell me, do you intend to practice dual cultivation with this woman? She seems quite fond of you and would surely agree.”

Chen Yu was speechless. “Stop telling me to practice dual cultivation with others all the time! This is a matter of saving a life—if I don’t detoxify her now, she’ll die!”

“So what? She’s just a mortal. Life and death are normal in the mortal world. How many can you care about?”

“I don’t care about others, but she’s the girl Tianyou likes. I can’t let anything happen to her.”

“You’re quite noble—friends’ wives are off-limits, right? But this girl likes you. If you decide to practice dual cultivation with her, I’ll give you the Water of Forgetfulness to save her. If not, don’t waste such a precious thing.”

“You have an entire Sea of Forgetfulness; what’s a single drop?”

“True, it means little to me. But you must understand, this is the mortal world, not the cultivation realm. Such treasures aren’t easily dispensed.”

“Enough. I’m begging you now. We can’t delay any longer, or she will truly die.” Chen Yu pleaded helplessly.

“Sigh, you’re too kind-hearted. In the cultivation world, that’s the deadliest flaw. Remember, in this world, you can afford to be willful, but when you enter the cultivation realm, never be so kind-hearted again. Every cultivator there is a demon at heart, treating lives like grass. A single mistake and you won’t even be left with bones!”

With that, the Jiaolong King summoned a drop of the Water of Forgetfulness. His strength had somewhat recovered, making it easy to condense the water. Then, growing lazy again, he sank into silence.

The drop floated in midair, now under Chen Yu’s control.

Chen Yu pointed his finger at Zhu Shaoqi; the drop rippled around her and sank into the center of her brow.

Although Chen Yu still held several antidote pills, the poison in Zhu Shaoqi was too dangerous to risk. The safest method was the Water of Forgetfulness, the only true antidote to all poisons.

After Zhu Shaoqi absorbed the water, Chen Yu laid her back on the bed. Color returned to her face, and black beads of sweat appeared on her forehead and neck, likely all over her body—she was beginning to purge the toxins.

Chen Yu opened the door and stepped out of the ward.

“How is she, Yu?” Zhang Tianyou asked anxiously.

Zhu Shaohui also looked at Chen Yu with tense eyes.

“She’ll be fine. A few days of rest and she’ll be lively again. You should go in and see her,” Chen Yu said, patting Zhang Tianyou’s shoulder.

Zhang Tianyou nodded silently, biting his lip, then hurried into the room.

Zhu Shaohui immediately knelt before Chen Yu. “Mr. Chen, your great kindness will never be forgotten by our Zhu family!”

“Enough, get up. I told you, Shaoqi is my friend. I won’t let her come to harm. Call some nurses in to clean her up—she’s just started expelling the toxins, so her body must be filthy.”

Zhu Shaohui nodded repeatedly and ran off to summon the nurses.

Chen Yu folded his arms. “Do you know what kind of poison she was poisoned with?”

Only Haiqin remained in the corridor besides him, so the question was directed at her.

“Why do you ask, Mr. Chen?” Haiqin’s body trembled slightly but she kept a smile on her face.

“Do you really want me to scatter your soul and spirit and be satisfied?” Chen Yu said coldly.

Haiqin’s face paled, and she took two steps back.

Her legs gave out and she knelt. “Please forgive me, Mr. Chen. I do know what poison Shaoqi was afflicted with, but I have no antidote. I did not mean to conceal it, for even if I said, it would be of no help.”

“What poison?”

Haiqin glanced at Chen Yu suspiciously. She found it strange that he could detoxify but did not know the poison.

“Seven Absolutes Poison,” she admitted.

“The Seven Absolutes?”

“Yes—absolute heart, lungs, kidneys… seven vital functions are destroyed, and the body withers and dies.”

Chen Yu had already sensed these symptoms but hearing Haiqin confirm filled him with anger. Who could harbor such hatred as to use such a cruel poison on Zhu Shaoqi?

“Do you know who administered the poison?” Chen Yu asked coldly.

“I truly do not know, please forgive me, Mr. Chen. But I do know the poison comes from a sect,” Haiqin said trembling.

“A sect? Which one?”

“The Medicine King Sect,” she lowered her head.

Chen Yu’s expression hardened. “I haven’t sought them out yet, and you’ve already brought them trouble.”

Haiqin did not understand but felt the murderous aura radiating from Chen Yu and shivered.

“Are there Medicine King Sect forces around here?” Chen Yu continued.

Haiqin thought for a moment. “This sect is reclusive, but it does have some small branch offices in the mortal world. Their exact activities are mysterious, so I don’t know. However, there is such a branch just outside Jiang City.”

“Where exactly?”

Haiqin cautiously gave the location.

Chen Yu nodded and tossed her a pill.

“What’s this?” Haiqin’s eyes widened. She did not know what the pill was, but its aura was extraordinary and seemed greatly beneficial to her.

“Hundred-Turn Pill. It can solve the meridian problems of your half-demon clan,” Chen Yu said, then vanished.

Haiqin collapsed to the ground, clutching the pill like a treasure. So this Mr. Chen had already discerned she was a half-demon and understood the meridian troubles plaguing their kind. Who exactly was this man?

Suddenly, she recalled rumors spreading in the half-demon community of a celestial master who could resolve their meridian issues. This must be that master!

Zhu Shaohui hurried over with several nurses, followed by a large group of doctors.

Seeing Haiqin sitting on the floor, he asked, “What happened? Where is Mr. Chen?”

Haiqin calmly pocketed the Hundred-Turn Pill and stood. “Mr. Chen said he had urgent matters and left. Shaohui, Mr. Chen is truly our great benefactor!”

Zhu Shaohui nodded deeply. “Indeed, I don’t know how to thank him enough.”

“Someone like Mr. Chen wouldn’t care about thanks. We just need to remember his kindness forever.”

Zhu Shaohui nodded again.

At that moment, Zhu Shaoqi suddenly rushed out of the ward.

She had just regained consciousness, opened her eyes, and saw Zhang Tianyou. Then she realized Chen Yu had saved her. Without caring that she was still weak, she dashed out wanting to see him.

“Where is Mr. Chen?”

Haiqin hurried to support her and whispered in her ear, “He went to seek revenge for you.”

Red blushes bloomed on Zhu Shaoqi’s cheeks. She said nothing more and was helped back to bed by Haiqin.

Far outside Jiang City, atop a desolate mountain.

This area used to be a quarry, now abandoned. Deep within the quarry, however, lay another world—a grand mountain mansion.

It was heavily guarded and fortified.

Chen Yu raised an eyebrow. “Well hidden indeed.”
