Chapter 127: I Have Come to Annihilate You!
Huang Yali stamped her feet twice. He was, after all, her older brother, and she wanted him to return to normal as well. Yet all their previous efforts had yielded almost no results, and she could not help growing discouraged.
Still, her own discouragement did not mean she could let her brother lose heart. Seeing that his resolve remained so firm, she could only sigh helplessly and say no more.
Chen Yiyi had originally not intended to travel with Huang Yuanbo. After all, he was not going there to beg for medicine, but to destroy the sect and seize it. Now, however, he felt that bringing the siblings along might prove rather interesting.
He therefore agreed to go with them to the Medicine King Sect.
Once he had agreed, Ye Mei could only move her lips soundlessly and let the matter drop.
The group rested for the night.
The next day, after making all the necessary preparations, they began their journey into the mountains.
There was only one mountain path leading to the Medicine King Sect, and it was exceedingly rugged. Along the way, there were also countless poisonous miasmas and choking fumes. Naturally, none of these could trouble Chen Yiyi. Ye Mei was no ordinary person either, and with their preparations in advance, she had nothing to fear.
The Huang siblings had already made the journey twice and knew the route well. They were not merely spoiled young master and young lady, either; both had actually practiced the arts of cultivation, though their attainments were extremely shallow. Chen Yiyi had seen this from the beginning, which led him to suspect that the Huang family might not be one of those ordinary great clans of the secular world. They most likely belonged to some lineage that had inherited the arts of cultivation.
After a full day of travel and a long trek along the mountain road, they finally arrived at the entrance of the Medicine King Sect.
Huang Yuanbo pointed toward a distant valley and said, “That is the Medicine King Sect.”
The others looked in that direction and saw a sheer cliff rising before them like a natural chasm. There was only a small opening in the cliff face, and even that entrance had long since been sealed by a wall built of blue stone.
The three-zhang-high stone wall enclosed the Medicine King Sect within it. It was so well hidden that had Ye Mei and the Huang siblings not known the route, the sect would have been extremely difficult to find.
At that moment, several figures suddenly appeared atop the wall. They leaped down from the thirty-foot-high battlement and rushed toward the group with astonishing speed, demonstrating considerable skill.
All of them wore black outfits suited for combat and carried themselves with an imposing air.
The leader was a young man whose brows were filled with arrogant disdain. He glanced at Chen Yiyi and the others before finally fixing his gaze on Huang Yuanbo. With a cold snort, he said, “You again? Did I not tell you that the valley would receive no visitors during this period? Why have you come back—and brought other people with you?”
“Well, this…” Huang Yuanbo said awkwardly.
He had already visited twice and had offered them several gifts before. Why had they suddenly become so discourteous?
Before he could think of what else to say, the young man continued, without even looking at them, “The Medicine King Sect is no longer receiving guests. Wherever you came from, go crawling back there!”
“You!” Huang Yali pointed at him, her face turning white with fury.
Huang Yuanbo immediately stopped his sister with a glance. Planning to use the same method as before, he took out a valuable item and was just about to step forward to smooth things over when a faint voice drifted through the air.
“Ah, the people of this Medicine King Sect truly have no manners.”
It was Chen Yiyi. With his hands clasped behind his back, he shook his head and walked forward.
Huang Yuanbo stared at him in bewilderment. He had been about to use the gift to establish a connection. Was this not ruining everything? He repeatedly gestured with his eyes, urging Chen Yiyi to be more tactful.
But Chen Yiyi acted as though he had not understood him at all. Moreover, he looked nothing like someone who had come to beg for medicine, leaving Huang Yuanbo utterly speechless.
Huang Yali gave a derisive snort through her nose and thought mockingly, He came here to beg for medicine, yet he dares to call others rude? What an ingrate!
She seemed to have forgotten that she herself had just been angered by the sect disciples’ rudeness.
Ye Mei suddenly froze. This man had said he intended to destroy the sect. Could he be planning to start right here?
“Where did this uncouth brat come from? Do you know what place this is? How dare you act so insolently at the gates of the Medicine King Sect!” the young man shouted angrily.
Huang Yuanbo carefully addressed Chen Yiyi. “Brother Chen, you came here to seek medicine. Please, do not provoke them. Otherwise, we will not even be able to enter the sect.”
“Did I ever say I came here to seek medicine?” Chen Yiyi asked with a faint smile.
Both Huang Yali and Huang Yuanbo stared at him in astonishment. If he had not come for medicine, then why had he come?
Chen Yiyi looked at the black-clad men. His voice was not loud, yet it rang clearly in everyone’s ears.
“I came to seize the medicine.”
Then he added lightly, “And, while I am at it, I might as well destroy your Medicine King Sect.”
In an instant, everyone fell silent, as though they had just heard the ravings of an idiot.
The Medicine King Sect possessed centuries of heritage. It was filled with countless experts, including numerous grandmaster-level martial artists and master-level spellcasters. Martial Venerables and Great Mages also stood guard over the sect—not to mention its unfathomable sect master. Yet this man had actually claimed that he would destroy the Medicine King Sect.
It was nothing more than a madman’s fantasy.
Ye Mei gritted her teeth and did not dare say a word. How arrogant could this man be? He seemed determined to let everyone know of his madness, declaring that he would destroy the sect before he had even entered its gates.
She felt a headache coming on. Would this not put everyone on guard against him? He was simply an idiot.
Huang Yuanbo remained stunned for a long while before shaking his head. Earlier, because Chen Yiyi had been able to identify his illness, he had thought him a capable man. He had even planned to seek his help if the Medicine King Sect failed to provide a cure. But now it was obvious that Chen Yiyi had something wrong with his head. It seemed he truly needed a miracle medicine for that.
Huang Yali nearly burst out laughing. She had no idea which mental asylum this lunatic had escaped from. She had even worried that he might be harboring some ulterior motive. It seemed she had been far too cautious.
Then again, perhaps caution was necessary. Who could possibly feel at ease while traveling with someone who was clearly not right in the head?
The Medicine King Sect disciples all stared blankly for a moment before bursting into laughter.
“You came to seize our medicine? And you want to destroy our sect? Hahaha…” The leading young man laughed so hard that he nearly choked.
“What? You do not believe me?” Chen Yiyi smiled faintly and slowly raised one hand. “Perhaps you will believe me in a moment. Though by then, even if you do, you will not be able to see anything.”
The young man suddenly stopped laughing. “Brat, who do you think you are—”
Before he could finish, he felt a powerful force dragging him forward. His body shot uncontrollably toward the brat he had dismissed as a braggart.
His expression changed at once, and panic seized him, but it was already too late.
“You—you—what are you trying to do?” Chen Yiyi had seized him by the head. His entire body was utterly immobilized, and in that instant he felt a profound terror. This man had drawn him through the air by force alone, making him experience the fear of death for the first time.
The others were already dumbfounded. Even the Medicine King Sect disciples who had come with him seemed to forget how to react.
“Did I not already tell you? I came to destroy your Medicine King Sect.”
Chen Yiyi’s hand tightened ever so slightly.
Bang!
A sound like an explosion rang out as a cloud of blood mist burst into the air.
The remaining Medicine King Sect disciples, along with the Huang siblings, shuddered violently.
A gleam flashed through Ye Mei’s eyes.
“Someone has killed our Medicine King Sect disciple! Call for help!” the remaining disciples immediately shouted.
The Huang siblings, however, remained frozen in shock.
Was this really the same man who had been traveling with them?
Ye Mei bit her lip, forgetting even to release it. Was this truly the extent of his strength?
Chen Yiyi smiled faintly once more and slowly raised his hand again.
“Shout louder. Tell them that the man who destroyed your branch has arrived. Since I have come this far, I might as well finish the job. The main sect cannot be spared either.”
Then he gave his hand a gentle wave.
Hiss, hiss, hiss!
The heads of the remaining Medicine King Sect disciples rolled across the ground like balls. Only one was left alive. With a terrified cry, he turned and fled.
Naturally, Chen Yiyi had deliberately allowed him to escape. The greater the commotion, the better. He wanted to rouse every one of those old monsters and save himself the trouble of searching for them after entering.
He then walked up to the stone wall.
Extending his palm, he gave it a gentle push.
Rumble!
The wall collapsed with a thunderous crash.
