Chapter 13: You Are Already My Dog

Chen Yuyi looked coldly at the two men on the ground, a hint of murderous intent flickering in his eyes.

“Who are you?” Lan Sihao struggled to get up from the ground. He hadn’t expected someone to suddenly appear, let alone be lifted into the air by an unseen force—this was beyond anything he’d ever known, beyond even what his master, Master Zhong, was capable of. So, shock quickly gave way to terror.

Although Chen Yuyi had not yet reached the stage of condensing true power, the formidable energy within him was more than enough to crush any so-called expert in an instant. With a mere gesture, he could shape his energy into a blade or seize a man out of thin air. Yet, such overwhelming methods were not something he wished to reveal openly.

But tonight, he was truly enraged. Even though he and Shen Zhujun were only a couple in name, bound by a mere agreement, she was still, by all appearances, his wife—and he would never allow anyone to violate her.

“Who I am is unimportant. What matters is that you’ve crossed me, and now you must pay the price.” Chen Yuyi took two slow steps forward, his invisible aura spreading outwards.

Bai Lang was only an ordinary man; he could not withstand Chen Yuyi’s aura. His throat tightened, a mouthful of blood burst forth, and he collapsed into unconsciousness.

Lan Sihao, clutching his chest, blood trickling from his lips, staggered backward. “Don’t come any closer! I’m Master Zhong’s disciple. My master is powerful—he can bring the dead back to life, he possesses supreme abilities. If you kill me, he will never let you go.”

Chen Yuyi halted. Though he had the urge to kill, it was clearly inappropriate to do so here.

Lan Sihao, seeing him pause, thought his words had struck fear, and a hint of pride showed on his face. “Let’s just pretend nothing happened tonight. I truly didn’t know she was your wife—it was all Bai Lang’s instigation. I’ll leave right now, and you’d better go take care of your wife.”

His words, though seemingly conciliatory, were laced with venom, shifting all blame onto Bai Lang. Only he knew that after being poisoned by the Hehe Powder, even if the woman found a man, it wouldn’t necessarily cure her; only his unique cultivation method could fully dispel the poison.

Of course, he would never tell Chen Yuyi this. If it were someone else, perhaps he’d offer that knowledge, and the other man would then beg him to “cultivate” with his own woman. Now, he simply wanted to see how helpless Chen Yuyi would become. But he had no idea that Shen Zhujun’s poison had already been resolved.

Chen Yuyi had planned to deal with Lan Sihao elsewhere, but when the man mentioned Shen Zhujun again, his gaze turned icy.

“You’re seeking death!”

With those words, he flickered and reappeared before Lan Sihao, pointing a finger at the center of his brow.

The force unleashed from that finger could have pierced a steel plate.

Lan Sihao felt a sudden heat at his brow, followed by a coldness spreading through his body.

His vision blurred, his breath faltered, and all his bodily functions began to collapse. “You… you can’t kill me… only I… can cure your wife’s… poison,” he stammered, eyes wide in disbelief, unwilling to accept that he was about to leave this world.

“There’s no need for your concern. Her poison is already cured,” Chen Yuyi replied coolly, glancing lightly at Lan Sihao.

Thud. Lan Sihao fell.

“My master will avenge me!” In the instant he collapsed, he used his last breath to spit out these resentful words.

Chen Yuyi looked indifferently at the corpse. Though it was his first time taking a life, he felt no burden, as if he had merely crushed an ant.

“If your master seeks revenge, I’ll send him to join you.”

Chen Yuyi walked over to the unconscious Bai Lang and roused him.

“Who—who are you? Stay back!” Bai Lang woke with a start, scrambling away in terror.

He crawled straight to Lan Sihao’s corpse and froze in shock.

Chen Yuyi looked at him coldly. “If you don’t want to end up like him, then do exactly as I say.”

“Brother, sir!” Bai Lang snapped out of his daze and began kowtowing at Chen Yuyi’s feet. “Please don’t kill me! I have money, as much as you want—just spare my life!”

“Put him in your car, then drive. You stop when I say stop.” Chen Yuyi pointed to the Range Rover.

Bai Lang dared not disobey. As he moved to carry Lan Sihao’s body, the sight of the gaping wound on his brow made him collapse to the ground in terror.

“If you keep dawdling, I’ll make you just like him. Open the door—now!” Chen Yuyi picked up the corpse himself. Though no one had discovered what had happened yet, if he delayed, someone might wander by, and that could complicate things.

Bai Lang, trembling, unlocked the car. Chen Yuyi tossed the corpse into the passenger seat and settled in the back. “Prop him up as if he’s alive, just like when you arrived. Drive.”

He did this to prevent anyone from suspecting Lan Sihao had died here, lest it involve Shen Zhujun later.

Bai Lang propped up the corpse, started the car with shaking hands, and dared not look back, only desperate to live, not daring to defy a single word.

Under Chen Yuyi’s direction, the Range Rover drove to a deserted area.

“Sir, why have we come to this place?” Bai Lang’s voice quivered.

“I’ll ask you a question. Answer truthfully, or you know what will happen.”

Chen Yuyi suddenly recalled his own “assassination” and suspected the matter might have something to do with Shen Zhujun. A woman as outstanding as she was would surely have attracted the attention of many wealthy heirs; perhaps one of them, upon learning of her marriage, had harbored a malicious grudge.

Of course, this was just his speculation, but regardless, he would not let any clue slip by.

“Ask anything, sir. I’ll tell you everything I know,” Bai Lang replied, noticing Chen Yuyi’s distraction and stealthily pulling out his phone.

“If you’re really so eager to die, I’ll gladly oblige,” Chen Yuyi said coolly, without even glancing at him.

In a flash, he seized Bai Lang’s wrist.

“Aaah!” Bai Lang screamed, dropping his phone.

Chen Yuyi picked it up, saving the number to his own phone, intending to keep Bai Lang alive for the time being to make use of him.

“I’ve placed a Heart-Destroying Force within your body. It will assault your heart, and without my intervention, your heart will be shattered, rupturing inch by inch.”

Within Chen Yuyi’s spiritual sea were countless secret techniques and methods to ensure obedience.

Cold sweat poured down Bai Lang’s face. Clutching his chest, he felt his heart being battered as if by a sledgehammer, his body shuddering as if struck by thunder. “I don’t want to die—save me!”

“Save you? It’s no trouble, but what do you have that’s worth saving?” Chen Yuyi’s lips curled into a faint smile.

Bai Lang, writhing on the ground in agony, pleaded, “Though the Bai family can’t compare to the richest tycoons, we’re still one of the top families in Jiangzhong. Spare me, and all of the Bai family’s wealth will be yours—I promise to give it all to you!”

“Give it to me? You don’t even control the Bai family yet. How will you give it to me?” With that, Chen Yuyi suddenly struck Bai Lang’s body with his palm.

Startled, Bai Lang closed his eyes in despair, slumping to the ground.

“Am I dead?” After a moment, he muttered, feeling the pain in his heart ease. His eyes shot open.

“Did I say I’d let you die?”

Hearing Chen Yuyi’s icy voice, Bai Lang was overjoyed. He leaped up and knelt before Chen Yuyi. “Thank you for sparing me, sir. Thank you…”

“Don’t get ahead of yourself. I’ve only suppressed the force inside you temporarily. Every seven days, it will attack your heart again. No one but me can resolve it—you just experienced what that’s like, didn’t you?” Chen Yuyi said with a half-smile.

“Ah!” Bai Lang slumped to the ground, his face as pale as a corpse.

“But as long as you follow my orders, you’ll live. At worst, I’ll save you once every seven days.”

Bai Lang’s lips quivered. Though he held resentment in his heart, he dared not show it, only kowtowing again and again. “Thank you, sir. Whatever you ask of me, I will do without hesitation!”

“Do I look so old? ‘Sir’ this, ‘sir’ that—damn it!” Chen Yuyi shot him a glare.

“N-no, I mean, how should I address you, brother?” Bai Lang stammered in terror.

“Remember, you’re now my dog. Your life is mine. Everything you own is mine too.”

Chen Yuyi couldn’t be bothered to waste more words. He asked about Shen Zhujun.

Though Bai Lang didn’t know her deeply, he’d made inquiries about her while pursuing her, so he knew far more than Chen Yuyi did.

From him, Chen Yuyi learned that Shen Zhujun’s family was indeed a prominent one, though since her grandfather’s death, the family had declined. For reasons unknown, Shen Zhujun had fallen out with her parents and moved out of the family home, founding her own cosmetics company.

Previously, his understanding of Shen Zhujun had been limited to their nominal marriage, but now, considering how hard she worked alone, he realized her struggles. If he hadn’t intervened that night, who knows what fate would have befallen her?

Chen Yuyi suddenly felt a trace of sympathy for her.

“So, my supposed wife, outwardly proud and cold, is actually a pitiable soul. Looks like I’ll have to shoulder more of a husband’s responsibilities from now on,” he mused silently.

“Brother Yu, that’s all I know—I really don’t know anything more. As for Lan Sihao, I only met him by chance. Please don’t think I was close to him. Someone like him deserved a thousand deaths,” Bai Lang quickly distanced himself from the dead man.

Chen Yuyi glanced at him indifferently. “I’ll let go of what happened before, but if you dare step out of line again, you’ll die with your heart bursting.”

“Never, never!” Bai Lang stammered, nodding frantically.

“Good. Dispose of that body and go back—act as if nothing happened. From now on, keep an eye on everyone around my wife. If anyone seems to be after her, report to me at once. If anything happens to her again, you know what the consequences will be. And don’t you dare tell anyone she’s my wife. Understand?”

The final note in Chen Yuyi’s voice made Bai Lang jump in fright. “Understood, understood!”

“Relax. As long as you obey, I won’t let you die so soon.” With that, Chen Yuyi struck Lan Sihao’s corpse with his palm.

A series of sharp cracks sounded as the corpse collapsed inward, flesh and blood turning into a mangled heap.

Bai Lang stared, his eyes wide, his stomach churning.

“Too terrifying! Is he even human?” His eyes brimmed with fear…

Chen Yuyi returned to the villa.

He suddenly noticed that Shen Zhujun’s bedroom door was wide open, and she was nowhere to be seen.

At that moment, a flash of cold light swept toward him…
