Chapter 131: Let Me End This All
"Do you take me for a fool? You pretend to invite me as an elder of the Medicine King Sect, but in reality, you intend to squeeze every pill formula out of me, and even plan to threaten everyone I hold dear afterward?"
The Medicine King's withered face flushed slightly. That was indeed his plan, but he certainly would not admit it.
"In short, as long as you hand over the formula for the Rejuvenation Pill, everything can be settled. Otherwise—"
"Otherwise what? Do you truly believe you can do anything to me?" Chen Yuyi suddenly hoisted the Young Sect Master into the air. "He is in my hands now; what qualifications do you have to negotiate with me? Even if your useless son didn't exist, you still wouldn't have the standing to bargain with me!"
His gaze turned icy. Sensing the murderous intent radiating from him, the Young Sect Master begged, "Don't kill me! Don't kill me! I'll make my father let you go!"
"Let me go? Did I ever say I wanted to leave? Do you think I would walk away without destroying your Medicine King Sect?"
"Release my son at once, and we can still talk. Otherwise, do not blame me for being heartless!" The Medicine King moved slightly, seemingly poised to strike at the first opportunity.
"Release him? Fine! I'll let him cool off first!" With those words, Chen Yuyi tossed the Young Sect Master aside like trash.
A shrill scream erupted from the Young Sect Master. The crowd watched in horror as blood sprayed from beneath him. Their Young Sect Master had been rendered a eunuch.
"You!" The Medicine King’s beard and hair bristled with rage. He began to chant, his fingers forming a seal. Suddenly, a clear, dragon-like whistle echoed through the valley, carrying an astonishing aura.
Hearing this sound, the members of the Medicine King Sect turned pale, yet a flicker of joy crossed their faces. They scrambled to grab the castrated Young Sect Master and retreated behind the Sect Master.
Soon, a silver-white light descended before the Medicine King. It was a sword shaped like a serpent, devoid of a hilt, shimmering like autumn water as it coiled in the air. It was a glowing Silver Serpent Sword!
It appeared to be a flying sword. However, Chen Yuyi knew it wasn't a true flying sword—those could claim heads from a thousand miles away. This was merely an enchanted personal artifact with limited range, though in this world, it was an earth-shattering weapon.
Chen Yuyi was genuinely surprised. It seemed the Medicine King Sect Master had some talent to have forged such a thing. Was he offering it up as a tribute?
"Boy, do you know that besides alchemy, I am also a master of sword-forging? I spent twenty full years crafting this Silver Serpent Sword, and today it is finally complete. I owe it to you, actually—if you hadn't attacked my sect, I wouldn't have panicked and accidentally dropped a certain material into the furnace. It was a stroke of luck!" The Medicine King laughed triumphantly.
Flying swords were things of legend, yet he had succeeded in forging one. How could he not be proud? "Surrender now, and it may not be too late. Otherwise, once my flying sword strikes, you will surely bleed on the spot!"
Chen Yuyi wore a mocking smile. "Do you truly believe you have victory in your grasp?"
"It seems you still harbor delusions of hope," the Medicine King sighed, shaking his head before abruptly forming a seal. The Silver Serpent Sword shivered, its light intensifying, ready to pierce the void.
"With your level of ability, I imagine you can only control this blade within a hundred paces," Chen Yuyi said leisurely, as if ignoring the impending danger.
"Heh, a hundred paces is more than enough to send your head rolling," the Medicine King replied, though his expression flickered. He sneered, "No matter how strong you are, how can you withstand the power of a flying sword?"
"Enough talk. Will you fight or surrender?"
"Sigh, do you truly think this broken sword can do anything to me?" Chen Yuyi sighed and shook his head.
"Arrogant brat!" Losing his patience, the Medicine King waved his hand. The Silver Serpent Sword shot through the air, trailing a long ribbon of light as it struck toward Chen Yuyi.
The Medicine King watched with greedy excitement. Once this sword became known, who in the world could be his match? The members of the Medicine King Sect fell to their knees, not daring to look up. The power of the flying sword made them feel as if their Sect Master had become an immortal, and their previous fear evaporated.
"Boy," the sect members jeered, "there is a path to heaven, yet you chose to walk into hell. Now you know the true power of the Medicine King Sect!" The Young Sect Master’s eyes filled with the thrill of impending revenge.
The Silver Serpent Sword descended with the force of heaven and earth, a deafening, terrifying onslaught that carved a deep trench into the ground, scattering stones and debris in a devastating wake.
Chen Yuyi stood still. He looked up at the whistling blade and curled his lips into a faint smile. He raised his hand and pinched the air—a light, effortless gesture.
He caught the blade as if pinching a snake by its seventh inch. The momentum of the Silver Serpent Sword instantly dissipated into nothingness.
"How is this possible?" The Medicine King’s eyes bulged, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
At that moment, everyone in the hall felt as if they, too, had been pinched by the throat; they began to suffocate.
"How is this possible?" they cried out, collapsing to the ground.
Chen Yuyi smiled softly. "It seems the Medicine King Sect has quite a few treasures. I shall keep this little blade for myself." With a flick of his hand, the Silver Serpent Sword vanished.
"What manner of technique is this?" The Medicine King asked, fighting back his terror.
"It is a technique you cannot even imagine. If you have any other tricks, bring them out. I am somewhat interested in seeing them."
The Medicine King’s face alternated between green and white. A flash of malice crossed his features; he could not bear the loss of the sword he had spent twenty years refining. With a roar, he pulled a black pill from his robes and hurled it at Chen Yuyi.
It exploded in mid-air, transforming into a bolt of blazing white lightning as thick as an arm, clawing toward Chen Yuyi. It was a Thunder Pill—the only one he had ever successfully forged in his life, and he was using it as a desperate, final resort.
"Interesting." Chen Yuyi opened his mouth wide and swallowed the lightning whole.
The Medicine King stood disheveled, his eyes vacant. "No, no, no!" The two weapons he had produced were, in his mind, enough to destroy anyone, yet this young man had neutralized them with such ease. With his world-view collapsing, he realized that if this man hadn't even truly fought back yet, what would happen if he did?
The Medicine King retreated, trembling. "Too strong... this man is too strong!" Every member of the sect felt a deep, shivering dread. Was this man even human? Was he a god? The thought took root in their minds: those who offend the divine will be destroyed by the divine.
"Do you have any other tricks?" Chen Yuyi asked calmly.
The Sect Master backed away, his robes suddenly swelling. "Boy, you forced my hand!" Black gas began to pour from his body. It was poisonous mist—the Medicine King Sect’s specialty. It spread like a swarm of thousands of vengeful ghosts, turning everything it touched to ash.
The sect members watched in disbelief, realizing their master was sacrificing even them. The Young Sect Master cried out in despair, "Father, I don't want to die!"
The Medicine King closed his eyes. "I don't want you to die either, but under my Six Desires Poison Mist, no one can survive. Aside from myself, I can see no other way to destroy this man!"
"To think you would resort to such monstrous tactics, even sacrificing your own kin," Chen Yuyi remarked. "Do you think this mist can harm me? Sigh! It seems I had my hopes up too high. Let me end this once and for all!"
