Yan Jieming’s eyes practically blazed with fury.

The high school girl stepped back several steps in fright. "Whatever is going on between you people, what does it have to do with me?"

"Who says it has nothing to do with you? Your people provoked me, so none of you are getting off the hook," the tattooed man said with a sinister grin.

Yan Jieming gritted his teeth. With this added condition, he wasn't sure whether he should agree or not.

"What, scared?" The tattooed man sneered. "It's too late to be scared now. Who asked you to stick your nose into business that isn't yours? If you don't dare to fight, then that little sister here is definitely keeping me company!"

"If you guys keep this up, I'm calling the police!" the high school girl said helplessly, out of other options.

This remark instantly made the tattooed man and his group burst into uproarious laughter, as if they had just heard the funniest joke in the world.

"Go ahead and call! Pull out your phone right now and call the police!" the tattooed man laughed triumphantly.

"Little brother, since they're so eager for you to teach them a lesson, why don't you just fight them?" At this moment, Chen Yuyi, who had been sitting calmly all along, finally spoke up, his eyes filled with playful amusement.

Everyone had been focusing on the unfolding drama, and virtually no one had paid any attention to him.

"Who the hell are you, popping off with your nonsense?" One of Chen Yuyi's subordinates—wait, one of the tattooed man's subordinates suddenly snapped at Chen Yuyi.

"Me? I'm nobody, just an irrelevant bystander. You can all just pretend I don't exist," Chen Yuyi smiled faintly.

Seeing his timid demeanor, the group figured he was just a coward and couldn't be bothered to waste time on him, immediately ignoring his existence.

By this point, Yan Jieming seemed to have been provoked into a competitive spirit by Chen Yuyi's words. This guy really loved watching the chaos without adding to the trouble, yet he wouldn't lift a finger to help. At the very least, he was supposed to be a nominal older brother, yet there he was making sarcastic remarks. Fight it was, then! Was he really going to let himself become the punchline of a joke?

"Fine, let's fight! Single combat it is. Do you really think I'm scared of you?" Since things were ruined either way, Yan Jieming decided to throw caution to the wind.

"Now you've missed your chance for single combat!" The tattooed man suddenly broke into another sinister grin. "I've decided to have my whole gang jump you!"

With a wave of his hand, several of his subordinates immediately swarmed toward Yan Jieming.

Nearly all the girls among Yan Jieming's classmates covered their eyes in horror, as if the miserable scene of Haozi's beating was about to repeat itself on Yan Jieming.

Faced with the oncoming rush, Yan Jieming had no idea what happened; his foot suddenly slipped, and he nearly fell over.

Yet right as he was about to hit the ground, his arm swung out and somehow sent one of the thugs flying through the air.

Next, trying to regain his balance, he lifted a leg, which strangely kicked another thug square in the chest, sending him flying as well.

After that, his body swung on an arc purely from momentum, bizarrely colliding with and knocking away every single one of the thugs who had closed in on him.

These few moves left everyone present completely dumbfounded.

Standing firmly, Yan Jieming stared in absolute bewilderment at the people sprawled across the ground. Did he really take all of them down?

The tattooed man and his girl stared with wide eyes as well, utterly unable to believe what had just transpired.

"Great! Brother Ming is mighty!"

At that, Yan Jieming's classmates began to clap and cheer loudly. Seeing that Yan Jieming had single-handedly beaten so many men, their courage returned.

Yan Jieming's little girlfriend had stars in her eyes as she squealed, "Jieming is amazing!"

The tattooed man's mouth twitched twice. He couldn't tell whether that punk had just gotten lucky or actually possessed genuine fighting skills, because he had clearly seen the kid trip in terror, only to watch him effortlessly lay out all his subordinates in a matter of seconds.

"Brother, what do we do? He seems really strong," the young hoodlum girl said fearfully, sensing that Yan Jieming was bound to come after her next.

Yan Jieming snapped back to his senses, staring at the tattooed man and the young woman while pondering his next move.

"Punk, you just wait!"

The tattooed man barked viciously. With all his men sprawled on the floor, panic began to creep in, and he grabbed his sister and bolted.

The thugs lying on the ground quickly scrambled to their feet, shot Yan Jieming a venomous glare, and fled as well.

Meanwhile, the local youths who had previously switched sides gave Yan Jieming a thumbs-up. "Brother Ming is incredible, actually holding his own like that. But that tattooed brother isn't someone you want to mess with. We're sorry we couldn't back you up today, bro, but we'll treat you to drinks another day."

Terrified of getting dragged into any further trouble, those guys took off running too.

In the end, only Yan Jieming and his group of classmates remained.

"Jieming, let's get out of here fast. If that tattooed guy comes back with more people later, we won't be able to leave."

The classmates spoke with mounting urgency, sensing that today's affair wouldn't be settled so easily.

Although Yan Jieming had displayed formidable fighting prowess just moments ago, they were his usual partners in street brawls and knew exactly what he was worth. This time, there was a heavy suspicion that sheer luck had played a major role.

"Help carry Haozi, let's all get out of here," Yan Jieming said, knowing full well that his victory was a fluke. If another wave showed up, they genuinely wouldn't be able to leave.

As he and a few classmates went to hoist Haozi up, he couldn't help glancing over at Chen Yuyi. For reasons he couldn't explain, he felt a strange sensation.

"Aren't you leaving? Are you waiting for those people to finish you off along with the rest of us?" he snapped at Chen Yuyi.

Chen Yuyi smiled faintly. "I reckon you won't be leaving anytime soon now."

"What do you mean?"

Before Yan Jieming could finish his sentence, the sound of heavy footsteps reached his ears, and his expression changed instantly.

His classmates heard the footsteps too and once again panicked like a flock of startled rabbits.

A fresh crowd surged in, and these newcomers clearly didn't look like ordinary street thugs.

Every single one of them appeared muscular, well-trained, and possessed an imposing aura that was several levels above the previous group.

The faces of Yan Jieming and his friends turned completely pale. Some of the girls began to tremble violently; after all, they were still just students who had never witnessed such a menacing spectacle.

A man wearing a black glove on his right hand walked in with large strides, surrounded and escorted by the group.

The mere sight of him made Yan Jieming's hair stand on end. The man radiated a fierce, violent aura and carried the unmistakable posture of a seasoned martial artist. Though Yan Jieming had never actually crossed paths with trained fighters, he could sense it nonetheless.

His scalp tingled with wave after wave of dread.

The tattooed man and the young hoodlum girl trailed closely behind the man in the black glove, bowing obsequiously.

"Tiger Brother, that punk right there is the one who hurt our people," the tattooed man pointed at Yan Jieming and snarled viciously.

The man called Tiger Brother cast a sideways glance at Yan Jieming.

"I hear you're pretty handy in a fight. Care to go a few rounds with me?"

Yan Jieming involuntarily took two steps back. He was only a high schooler; his past brawls had relied entirely on raw nerve and chaotic, unpolished swings. Fighting someone with actual martial training was nothing short of suicide.

Moreover, he knew the earlier victory had nothing to do with skill—it was pure luck and coincidence.

Faced with his classmates' hopeful, pleading gazes, Yan Jieming gritted his teeth.

Just as he was about to blurt out a challenge, Tiger Brother's gaze happened to sweep across the group casually before landing on a corner of the room.

His expression shifted drastically.

His entire body shuddered, his eyes filling with abject terror. Completely ignoring everyone else, he recoiled backward like a mouse spotting a cat.

He turned tail and fled as if his life depended on it!

It formed a stark, comical contrast to his earlier domineering swagger.

This sudden turn of events left everyone present completely dumbfounded.

The tattooed man wore a look of utter confusion. He glanced at Yan Jieming, and for no apparent reason, a wave of panic washed over him.

He grabbed his younger sister and whispered urgently, "Run, run, let's go, let's go! This kid is cursed!"

And with that, he too scrambled away in a flurry.

With the ringleaders fleeing, the fierce-looking thugs shook their heads in bewilderment and scattered as well.

Yan Jieming's classmates were deeply baffled, yet deep down, they all convinced themselves that it was Yan Jieming's overpowering aura that had frightened the enemies away.

They immediately swarmed around him again.

"Brother Ming is amazing!"

"Brother Ming is mighty!"

"Jieming, you're so cool!"

Yan Jieming's little girlfriend stepped forward and planted a kiss right on his cheek.

Yan Jieming stood there, still utterly dazed.

His gaze instinctively drifted toward the direction Tiger Brother had been staring at earlier.

Sitting right there in that corner was Chen Yuyi!
