“Of course, you’ll need this diagram’s help for your cultivation in the future. Just remember: keep gathering more spiritual herbs. Both you and I will need a large amount of Baiyang Pills!”
“Yes, that goes without saying.”
“Now that the storage space is open, give it a try. Isn’t it convenient?” The Flood Dragon King spoke with evident pride.
“It really is!” With a mere thought, all the pills before Chen Yuyi’s eyes vanished, entering the storage space of the Flood Dragon Diagram. Another thought, and a few Biluo Pills appeared in his palm—truly much more convenient.
He then placed those Biluo Pills into his mouth and immersed himself in cultivation.
Moments later, he exhaled deeply, and the bones and tendons throughout his body crackled with explosive sounds, while his skin became smooth and supple.
“It seems you’ll soon reach genuine Internal Strength. Not bad—keep consolidating!”
Chen Yuyi took out a few more Biluo Pills and swallowed them.
He repeated this process several times.
“That’s enough. Let’s stop for today!” The Flood Dragon King suddenly called out.
“Why? I can push myself further and break through to Internal Strength in one go!” Chen Yuyi opened his eyes with a hint of reluctance.
“I told you, accumulate some reserves slowly to prepare for what comes next! Even if you force a breakthrough now, you’ll find yourself lacking in the next realm. Better to wait until you reach the Medicine King Sect, gather some fine ingredients, and make a big push—you might even jump straight to the Divine Valor realm! Besides, your Golden Emperor White Sovereign Slash has definitely become even more powerful. Why rush?”
Hearing this, Chen Yuyi found the reasoning sound and ended his practice.
Suddenly, a piercing scream came from Shen Zhujun’s room...
Like an arrow, Chen Yuyi shot toward her chamber.
At that moment, Shen Zhujun stood beside her wardrobe, clad in a silk nightgown that accentuated her graceful figure, but her face was frozen in terror.
“What happened?” Chen Yuyi stepped forward and asked.
“There’s a thief!” Instinctively, Shen Zhujun moved closer to him.
“A thief? Where?” Chen Yuyi glanced around the room.
She pointed to the wardrobe. “I just finished showering and came in, then heard something moving inside.”
Chen Yuyi opened the wardrobe, only to find a middle-aged man collapsed within, apparently unconscious from injury.
He shot Shen Zhujun a puzzled look. “How did this thief get knocked out?”
Clutching her chest, Shen Zhujun replied, “When I opened the wardrobe and saw a figure, I panicked and punched him.”
The corners of Chen Yuyi’s mouth twitched. A single punch from a woman had knocked a man out cold!
“Wait, Dad!” Shen Zhujun now recognized the “thief” who had fainted. Earlier, flustered and with the clothes blocking her view, she hadn’t seen his face clearly.

A dark look crossed Chen Yuyi’s face. She’d even punched her own father!
He said nothing, but helped Shen Zhujun lift Shen Chengde out of the wardrobe.
After some effort in the living room, Shen Chengde finally regained consciousness.
“Daughter, how could you hit your own father?” was the first thing he said upon waking.
Then he saw Chen Yuyi. “And you are...? Could you be...?”
“Dad, why were you hiding in my wardrobe?” Shen Zhujun didn’t bother explaining her relationship with Chen Yuyi.
He sighed. “I was hiding from your mother and the others, and I must have dozed off. No sooner had I woken up than you punched me!”
“So you were here before I even got back? How did you get in?” Shen Zhujun’s expression darkened.
“Heh, did you forget? When you bought this villa, I helped you with the paperwork and kept a spare key.”
Then, looking at his daughter expectantly, Shen Chengde said, “Zhujun, could you lend me a million for some urgent business?”
Shen Zhujun, still feeling guilty, had been attentive until she heard this. She sprang up. “No wonder Mom’s been looking for you everywhere! You’ve been out with all those shady people again and racked up more debt!”
“How is that mixing with shady people? I’m trying to restore the Shen family’s glory. Business negotiations always carry risks. I just need a little help with cashflow. Lend me a million, and once I turn things around, I’ll pay you right back,” Shen Chengde protested with conviction.
Now Chen Yuyi finally understood: his prospective father-in-law was a second-generation scion!
“You—you—you...” Shen Zhujun pointed at her father, lost for words.
“Sweetheart, you know how rough these years have been for your dad. Give me a chance—once I restore the Shen family’s name, we’ll have our old prestige back!” Shen Chengde seemed unfazed by her anger.
Shen Zhujun’s face grew icy. “It’s not that I don’t want to help you. My little company doesn’t even make a million a year. Where would I get that kind of money?”
“Yet you live in a villa and drive a luxury car!” He glanced at Chen Yuyi and muttered under his breath, “And keep a boyfriend!”
Shen Zhujun’s face turned white with fury. “I earned all this through my own efforts! It has nothing to do with you!”
“Enough, you’re family—no need for this,” Chen Yuyi interjected, shaking his head.
“We don’t need your input!” Shen Zhujun snapped at him.
But Shen Chengde seized Chen Yuyi’s arm. “Good son-in-law, why don’t you help persuade Zhujun?”
The term “good son-in-law” almost made Chen Yuyi stumble. He’d never imagined anyone in the Shen family would call him that, yet here it was, rolling off this “father-in-law’s” tongue so readily.
“Ahem, well, Zhujun, since Dad is pleading, why not just give in a little?” For the sake of being called “good son-in-law,” Chen Yuyi felt compelled to say a few supportive words.
Zhujun shot him a glare, anger simmering beneath her calm. “Since he calls you his good son-in-law, why don’t you help him yourself?”
She cast a disappointed look at her father and stormed back to her room, leaving the two men behind.
“Well...” Shen Chengde looked crestfallen, but then his gaze found Chen Yuyi again.
“Good son-in-law, don’t tell me you don’t even have a million?” he said, smiling slyly as though he’d discovered a new world.

Chen Yuyi spread his hands. “I don’t think I do.”
Shen Chengde’s eyebrows twitched. “Is this a joke? How can you date my daughter if you have no money?”
Chen Yuyi was surprised by how quickly this “father-in-law” changed his tone.
Still, he had no wish to offend him just now—after all, he’d be staying at the Shen house for a while. Winning over the old man might be beneficial, so he continued, “But I might have it in a few days.”
He’d just managed to squeeze some money out of that Young Master Yan, Yan Hongyi. Though the cash hadn’t arrived yet, it was as good as his.
“I need it urgently!” Shen Chengde immediately looked disappointed, assuming Chen Yuyi was just making excuses.
“In that case,” Chen Yuyi said, unwilling to let him down too much, “I happen to have a wealthy little brother.”
Shen Chengde’s hopes revived, and he beamed. “Then could you ask this little brother to lend me two million?”
“Two million?”
“Yes, I’ve decided—since fate has brought me such a fine son-in-law, heaven must still favor me. I’m going to expand my investments!”
Chen Yuyi was speechless. That was actually a reason?
But the words were pleasant enough, so he decided to oblige this “father-in-law.” The amount didn’t matter—it was just a word from him.
“In that case, please go home for now. Tomorrow, I’ll handle it for you.” He figured he’d have to go to the Shen house anyway.
“Well...” Shen Chengde rubbed his hands together. “Good son-in-law, could you do it now? I need it urgently!”
Seeing the anxious look on his face, Chen Yuyi shook his head inwardly. “Alright, then. Give me an account number—I’ll have him transfer it now.”
Shen Chengde’s face broke into a broad grin as he gave Chen Yuyi the bank details.
Chen Yuyi immediately called Bai Lang.
“Brother Yu! What a coincidence, I was just about to call you!” Bai Lang answered enthusiastically.
“Whatever it is, it can wait. Right now, transfer two million to this account.” He read out the number.
Moments later, Shen Chengde’s phone pinged with an incoming funds notification.
He stared at it in disbelief, reading it over and over before finally accepting it was real. He looked up at Chen Yuyi with newfound respect.
He hadn’t really expected Chen Yuyi to raise two million so easily. Even if he could, it couldn’t possibly have been this simple—just a couple of sentences and it was done.
“This son-in-law is not ordinary!”
