About ten minutes' drive away, the father and son traveled from the Yunhai Chamber of Commerce to the restaurant.

Walking all the way into the restaurant and arriving outside the private dining room, Lin Kaiyang was practically beaming with joy.

Lin Jingtao gave a few dry coughs and urged, "Once we go in later, remember to rein yourself in. Do not make a fool of yourself in front of your grandfather and cause him to lose face!"

"Don't I know that? No matter how I behave in private, I certainly know how to act depending on the occasion. Your son isn't that stupid," Lin Kaiyang said with a smiling shrug.

Taking a deep breath, Lin Jingtao said with considerable solemnity, "This meeting might have been specially arranged by your grandfather to give you another opportunity. After all, you are no longer a child, so make sure you put on a good performance and avoid any mistakes!"

"Alright, alright, I know what I'm doing. Stop treating me like an idiot. I'm not a little kid anymore; I understand the principle that having more connections paves more roads," Lin Kaiyang replied with absolute confidence.

Hearing this, Lin Jingtao finally felt somewhat relieved. A smile crept back onto his face, filled with deep anticipation, and he immediately pushed open the door and led Lin Kaiyang inside.

As the heavy doors of the private room swung open, the spacious interior instantly came into view.

Beaming with smiles, the father and son immediately caught sight of Elder Lin, sitting straight-backed in the seat of honor, alongside Feng Sihai standing respectfully to the side.

Seeing this, the father and son immediately stepped forward to greet them.

Bowing slightly, Lin Jingtao asked deferentially, "Elder, where is the honored guest you mentioned?"

"Grandfather, you wouldn't happen to have arranged something for me, would you?" Lin Kaiyang asked, his expression a mix of flattery and smug self-satisfaction.

Elder Lin narrowed his eyes darkly, though he did not vent his anger right away. Instead, he pointed toward the private room's door and indicated, "That distinguished guest just stepped out to take a phone call and will be back shortly."

Sensing nothing amiss, Lin Jingtao quickly smiled and asked, "Elder, who on earth is this major figure? Could you give us a hint?"

"Yes, indeed! I never imagined that I, Lin Kaiyang, would catch the eye of such a prominent figure. Must this person be of the same generation as you, Grandfather?" Lin Kaiyang asked with a look of ecstatic joy.

Sipping his hot tea to swallow down his rising fury, Elder Lin stated flatly, "I would like to ask what you two have been up to today first."

The father and son exchanged glances, both looking rather bewildered.

Not daring to conceal anything, Lin Jingtao recounted the whole sequence of events regarding Ye Tianlin, deliberately twisting the narrative and exaggerating details to paint Lin Kaiyang as an innocent victim, showing an extreme degree of partiality.

Standing nearby, Feng Sihai felt his stomach churn with disgust. He inwardly cursed Lin Jingtao for indulging his son to an utterly lawless degree, daring to turn black into white right in front of Elder Lin. Yet, given his own status and position, it was not his place to interrupt or speak up.

Upon hearing the account, Elder Lin's complexion turned faintly ashen. Lin Kaiyang, still putting on an act of grievance, pitifully whined, "Grandfather, I've been beaten up for no reason several times. This Ye Tianlin is simply too bullying! And to top it off, he even dared to strike my dad. He is completely arrogant and shows no respect for you at all!"

"Elder, rest assured. I've already taken Kaiyang to the Yunhai Chamber of Commerce to see Shen Wanjun. Shen Wanjun will definitely deal with him later. We can talk about that matter afterward; our top priority right now is waiting for that distinguished guest to return!" Lin Jingtao argued with righteous conviction.

At this moment, Elder Lin's patience finally snapped. Unwilling to wait for Ye Tianlin to walk back in before settling scores, he was about to erupt in a fit of rage and teach them a harsh lesson.

Just then, the door of the private room was pushed open once more, and Ye Tianlin strolled inside.

The moment he laid eyes on Ye Tianlin, Elder Lin's movements froze instantly.

Before anyone could speak, however, Lin Kaiyang abruptly leaped to his feet, glared directly at Ye Tianlin, and raged, "You bastard, what are you doing here? Who gave you permission to enter? Do you know what kind of occasion this is? My grandfather is receiving an honored guest, a truly prominent figure today! You'd better not come here to cause trouble!"

"Kaiyang, don't be hasty." Instead of getting angry, Lin Jingtao chuckled, patted Lin Kaiyang's shoulder, and then said sarcastically, "Ye Tianlin, could it be that you've already received notice from the Capital Consortium, found out we were here, and came specifically to apologize?"
