On the other side, back at the rented apartment complex.

Su Rulan entered, sat on the sofa, her emotions still in turmoil, her heart pounding uncontrollably. The identity of the young master of the Ye family had been overturned time and again. No one could have anticipated the shocking twist that took place tonight at the Su family villa—it was simply unbelievable.

At this moment, Su Weimin and Gao Yulan were equally moved, staring intently at Ye Tianlin with strange expressions, sitting stiffly in silence. Ye Tianlin felt uneasy under their gaze, so he cleared his throat and took the initiative to break the awkward atmosphere.

"I know it’s hard for you to believe this, even now, but the facts are right before your eyes. I hope you won’t jump to conclusions anymore," he said. "And most importantly, don’t look at me as you did before. I am now a normal person, able to take responsibility for my actions. If you still don’t believe it, you can go to the hospital for a checkup and see the results!"

Su Weimin stroked his chin thoughtfully, reconsidered Ye Tianlin, and finally nodded slightly. "It seems your illness truly is cured. We must have misunderstood you before," he admitted. "Actually, we should have realized it earlier. If you weren’t well, how could you go to the Land Rover dealership, go through all the procedures, and buy a car outright?" Gao Yulan chimed in, her doubts suddenly dispelled.

Su Rulan, overwhelmed, rushed forward and hugged Ye Tianlin tightly. Tears streamed down her face as she choked out, "Tianlin, I’ve waited so long, endured five years—your illness is finally cured!"

At that moment, Su Weimin clicked his tongue, frowned, and said in a strange tone, "We can believe your illness is gone, but as for the identity of the Ye family’s young master..."

Gao Yulan took a deep breath and continued, "The gap between us and the Ye family’s young master is immense, like heaven and earth. The chances of something like this happening are minuscule. I just don’t think we could be so lucky."

Ye Tianlin couldn’t help but laugh and cry at their reasoning. "Dad, Mom, what are you up to now? Don’t tell me you actually believe Su Yicai’s nonsense?"

Su Weimin nodded in agreement. "Actually, when you think about what Su Yicai said, it’s not entirely unreasonable. The young master of the Ye family acted as he did for a reason we’ve guessed, and you cooperated so well because you must have been compensated. Otherwise, where did you get the money to buy the car?"

"That’s exactly right," Gao Yulan immediately agreed. "Now that you’re cured, you could cooperate so perfectly. No need to put on an act for us anymore. Whatever happened, today we finally got some respect, and being used by the Ye family’s young master means we still have value."

Ye Tianlin was dumbfounded, almost furious. After all that, it had been a waste of effort!

He held his breath and looked eagerly at Su Rulan. "Wife, you don’t believe this nonsense, do you?"

Su Rulan lowered her head and remained silent for half a minute. When she finally looked up, her eyes shining with tears and a charming dimple in her smile, she said, "To be honest, I don’t have much confidence right now, but this time, no matter what anyone says, I’ll choose to believe you, because I know the person you are now would never deceive me!"

"Rulan, what are you saying? Isn’t this blind trust?" Su Weimin’s mouth twitched. He thought Ye Tianlin was either bluffing or still had some lingering issues, and his daughter was being far too indulgent.

"I reckon Ye Tianlin’s illness is probably cured, but maybe there are some aftereffects. Now that we’ve been dismissed from work, why not take him to the hospital tomorrow for a proper examination?" Gao Yulan suggested decisively.

...

The next day.

The family set out early and headed straight to the hospital.

First, Su Rulan underwent a prenatal checkup. Upon learning the fetus was healthy and safe, they arranged for Ye Tianlin to undergo a series of examinations.

After about two hours, the chief psychiatrist took up a test report and called the family together.

Su Rulan asked anxiously, "Doctor, what’s the situation with my husband’s illness? Did anything show up in the tests?"

Su Weimin pressed, "What matters most is whether there will be any aftereffects following his recovery. This illness was caused by trauma to the brain, which is the most vital part of the human body."

The chief psychiatrist adjusted his glasses, smiled, and explained, "After a series of tests, the trauma in the patient’s brain has healed on its own. There will be no residual effects. Please rest assured—Mr. Ye is now a normal person!"

He handed the report to Su Rulan.

Su Rulan took it and saw that every item was marked normal.

Su Weimin and Gao Yulan stood on either side, their eyes glued to the report, expressions gradually turning to shock.

Ye Tianlin smiled serenely. "Now you must believe me, right?"

Su Weimin pursed his lips. "The illness may be gone, but this stubborn pride and tendency to lie with a straight face still need to change. Rulan, don’t indulge him too much. Honestly, I almost preferred him when he was ill!"

Ye Tianlin had anticipated this response and said, "In that case, let me take you all to the Tiandu Chamber of Commerce!"

"Rulan, you said you lacked confidence? Today, I’ll give you all the confidence you need!"
