Chapter 125: Does He Even Deserve It?
"Fourth Sister! Brother Xu!" Gu Weiyu, perched atop the garden wall, instantly recognized the two figures who had appeared as Gu Weilan and Xu Weizhou.
Overjoyed, she leaped down and turned to help Gu Qun to his feet. "Third Great-Grandfather, I am going to assist Fourth Sister!"
With that, Gu Weiyu gripped her Thunder-Hidden Sword and charged into the fray.
The sword techniques of Gu Weilan and Xu Weizhou were exceptionally fierce, each strike imbued with killing intent. Gu Weilan’s blade carried a sharp, piercing quality, forcing her opponent back with every move. Xu Weizhou’s sword, however, radiated a chill that penetrated to the marrow, leaving every strike bone-deep and icy.
Chu Xingyun, already injured, found himself quickly pushed onto the defensive by their combined assault. As Gu Weiyu joined the battle, her Thunder-Hidden Sword flashed, unleashing a continuous, relentless barrage of strikes.
First Form: Thunder Sword!
Second Form: Thunder Sword!
Third Form: Thunder Sword!
Four Thunders Roar!
Frost, snow, lightning, and thunder turned the courtyard into a scene of absolute chaos. The power of Gu Weiyu’s lightning caused total paralysis; whenever Chu Xingyun was struck, his movements faltered. He could no longer maintain his dignified, immortal-like composure, feeling a deep sense of frustration. As a fully-fledged Golden Core cultivator, being pushed into a corner by three mere Foundation Establishment children was a humiliation he could never admit to others.
Seeing that they held the upper hand, the trio fought with increasing ferocity, longing to carve Chu Xingyun into pieces. Xu Weizhou, in particular, fought as if he had discarded his own life, his blade aiming repeatedly for Chu Xingyun's vital points.
Feeling his spiritual energy rapidly draining away, Chu Xingyun grew anxious. *Why hasn't Xin Niang arrived yet?* Watching the three grow more formidable with every passing second, he decided to sow discord among them.
"Young man, if you withdraw now, you may name any price you desire!"
Xu Weizhou sneered, his tone dripping with mockery. "Is that so? The price I want is something you cannot pay!"
Thinking he had found an opening, Chu Xingyun assumed a calm expression. "Young man, just name the amount of spirit stones you want."
"No. What I want is your life!" Xu Weizhou’s voice echoed coldly through the courtyard.
"You—" Chu Xingyun was choked with rage, finding the response absurd.
Xu Weizhou let out a contemptuous laugh. The feud of a father’s murder was irreconcilable; how could it be settled by mere spirit stones?
Surrounded by the three, the atmosphere grew tense as the brutal battle reached its peak. Seeing Chu Xingyun’s increasingly disheveled state, Gu Weiyu thought to herself, *You deserve this!*
Just as she felt a flicker of satisfaction, a sharp, feminine command rang out from mid-air. "Stop!"
Simultaneously, a clear, joyful voice cried out, "Sister! Sister, is that you?"
Gu Weiyu froze, her offensive faltering as she looked up. A woman in red, accompanied by a young boy in green, descended into the courtyard on a folded paper fan. The woman’s features were exquisite, her every movement radiating an alluring charm; it was Xin Niang, whom Gu Weiyu had encountered once before.
The small boy beside her, looking to be about eight or nine years old, had rosy lips and white teeth. His features bore a striking resemblance to Gu Weiyu’s—it was none other than Gu Qingshi. Little Stone was overjoyed to see her. For three years, he had spent every day wondering when his sister would return and when he could finally go home to their parents. Even after three years, he recognized her instantly.
"Little Stone!" Gu Weiyu recognized him at once—it was her younger brother, Gu Qingshi!
Gu Qingshi instinctively tried to run toward her, but the woman in red gripped him tightly. Looking up at Gu Weiyu, she smiled softly. "Gu Weiyu, tell them to stop at once!"
Gu Weiyu looked between Gu Weilan and Xu Weizhou, then at Gu Qingshi and Xin Niang, hesitating. This was a rare opportunity to finish off Chu Xingyun, but Little Stone was in their hands.
"Xin Niang!" Chu Xingyun, his old wounds flaring up during the fight, urged her impatiently as Gu Weiyu remained indecisive.
The smile faded from Xin Niang’s face. She produced a dagger and pressed it against Little Stone’s neck. "Gu Weiyu, if you persist in your stubbornness, do not blame me for being ruthless!"
As she spoke, she pressed the blade harder. Little Stone felt a chill on his neck, followed by a sharp sting, as something viscous began to trickle down. He looked up at Xin Niang in disbelief, unable to fathom that she would actually harm him.
"No!" Gu Weiyu’s heart ached. She dared not gamble, and she would never sacrifice Little Stone. "Fourth Sister, Brother Xu, stop!" she croaked.
At her command, Gu Weilan was the first to cease her attack. Though Xu Weizhou was unwilling, he understood the pain of watching a loved one die. He withdrew his sword, snarling, "I shall spare your wretched life for today!"
Gu Weilan cast a calm glance at Gu Weiyu before walking toward the corner where Gu Qun stood. Xu Weizhou remained planted where he stood like a statue, his eyes burning with hatred as he glared at Chu Xingyun and Xin Niang.
Seeing the trio’s reaction, Chu Xingyun felt a surge of secret joy, mingled with a touch of regret. He had anticipated this day; in fact, all of this was the result of his own calculated planning. He had deliberately sent men to take Gu Qingshi, intentionally left the Gu family in their current state, and even ensured that Gu Qun remained in the Taihe Residence. Everything had been designed to lure Gu Weiyu and her companions into a trap in Qin County, allowing him to catch them like turtles in a jar.
He had accounted for everything, except for the potential of Gu Weiyu and the others—he had not expected them to grow so rapidly. For a moment, Chu Xingyun felt as if he had been nursing a tiger that would eventually devour him.
Breathing heavily, Chu Xingyun walked to Xin Niang’s side and pulled Little Stone into his arms, feigning distress. "Little Stone, your sister is so heartless. She actually colluded with outsiders to put me to death!"
Little Stone looked back and forth, bewildered. In his young mind, he could not comprehend what was happening. Finally, he turned to Gu Weiyu. "Sister, I’m so scared... Why are you fighting with Uncle-in-law?"
*Uncle-in-law?*
Gu Weiyu felt as if she had been struck by lightning. A wave of nausea washed over her. How could Chu Xingyun have the audacity to call himself their uncle-in-law? He was unworthy! It was a defilement of her tenth aunt!
"Little Stone, he is not our uncle-in-law!" Gu Weiyu retorted, her face twisted with intense disgust.
"Heh," Chu Xingyun chuckled, transforming back into the image of a refined gentleman, his expression seemingly filled with deep affection. "Your aunt and I were deeply in love and united in marriage. How am I not your uncle-in-law?"
"Pah!" Disgusted by his shamelessness, Gu Weiyu spat out, "Someone like you, how could you ever be worthy of my tenth aunt? Little Stone, remember this: he is the one who murdered our tenth aunt, our sixth brother, our seventh aunt, and many of our Gu clan members! He is our enemy!"
Gu Weiyu pointed at Chu Xingyun, her voice trembling with righteous indignation.
"Hahaha... Hahaha..." Chu Xingyun suddenly threw his head back and laughed wildly toward the sky.
