Wukong, where are you? Please come and save me!
The captive beast inside the cage shed tears more fiercely than ever.
Just as the little demons sharpened their blades, ready to slaughter the captive Xuanzang for meat, Sun Wukong charged ahead but returned defeated.
The small demons were struck down by a single blow and scattered in all directions.
Even the great demon was no match for Sun Wukong; he beheaded the hound-headed fiend and ended its life instantly.
How tragic!
Inside the large cage was a fierce beast.
Though it appeared mighty, it was actually quite weak.
Sun Wukong whistled twice at the cage without uttering a word.
The tiger inside looked at him with tear-filled, bleary eyes, staring blankly.
Though it was clear that inside the cage was a person— that hateful bald monk— Sun Wukong showed no urgency to lift the enchantment binding him.
The monkey and the tiger locked eyes, unblinking, silently staring at each other.
This eerie scene lingered until Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing appeared, breaking the strange atmosphere.
“Ah… Master, you have endured so much,” Sha Wujing said sincerely, immediately kneeling by the cage and bursting into tears.
Zhu Bajie followed suit, tears falling: “Master… your disciple is late, making you suffer so.”
Nonsense!
The pig-headed one and the sand monk were playing along— could this be a show for Monkey?
Sun Wukong rolled his eyes and commanded them, “Step aside. Let me now lift the demon enchantment on the monk.”
Among the three, only Sun Wukong had the skill to remove the binding spell on Xuanzang’s body.
Reciting a spell, Sun Wukong swiftly dispelled the enchantment, and Xuanzang returned to his normal self.
“Ah… Master has transformed back. It’s wonderful,” Sha Wujing wept with joy.
He longed to rest his head on Xuanzang’s shoulder, savoring the bond between master and disciple.
“Master, you really turned human again? Thanks to Monkey, no less.”
“Hmph! It’s good that he turned back. I was worried…”
Sun Wukong crossed his arms and fell silent.

“Bajie, Sha Wujing, it has been a hard ordeal for your master. Thank you both for your efforts.”
Xuanzang felt deeply guilty, especially facing Sun Wukong, unsure of what to say.
What should have been a joyous moment instead turned strange.
Suddenly, the sky’s aura shifted sharply.
Chu Xiaoyu, who had activated her divine sight, immediately took in the entire journey to the West.
“Monk, this calamity you faced was destined. You need not bear grudges. But this happened because of your baseless suspicions that drove away my unworthy disciple, Sun Wukong, thus bringing about this disaster. You must bear responsibility.”
A voice drifted from the sky, startling Xuanzang, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing.
Only Sun Wukong remained calm.
Previously, his master had promised to give that bald monk a good lesson.
“Ah… it’s Monkey’s master, the Daoist Immortal! Immortal, Bajie admits his fault.”
Zhu Bajie bowed devoutly toward the empty sky.
This Immortal was truly formidable.
Xuanzang hurriedly bowed as well: “Master’s teaching is indeed right. I, a humble monk, erred in suspicion and thus invited this calamity. I have no excuse.”
The Tang Monk humbly accepted the criticism.
The eerie void continued speaking: “Recognizing one’s mistakes is the greatest virtue. Though you and my disciple are not master and pupil, your journey together has made you almost so. On your way to the West, you will face more trials and hardships. My disciple Wukong is indispensable to you.”
“Let me put it this way: without Sun Wukong, your journey would be impossible. With him, you can avoid many setbacks and battles. You simply cannot do without him.”
“Monk, I say all this to remind you that my unworthy disciple Sun Wukong is irreplaceable. When obstacles arise, discuss how to overcome them calmly—not act rashly as you did before. Otherwise, all will be hindered.”
“Master’s teaching is profound. I have taken it to heart,” Xuanzang bowed again.
With the master’s protection, it was as pleasant as resting beneath a large tree’s shade.
Sun Wukong’s previous frustration and turmoil vanished completely.
To sever ties with his demon nature, he knew he must endure grievances silently; otherwise, all his prior efforts would be wasted.
Only by enduring hardship can one rise above others.
After such a small setback, what was there to fear?
“Wukong, you must remember to curb your pride and impatience. Do not act recklessly. On this journey to the West, even greater hardships await. Without unity, your path will be rough and arduous.”

Throughout the journey, demons and monsters will seize any chance to ambush you, making progress impossible. In the worst case, you could face total annihilation.
“Master, please rest assured. I know what to do. I promise never to act recklessly again.”
Sun Wukong vowed firmly.
Born a monkey, a natural-born great demon, he must quickly shed his demon identity and become a true superior.
He must fight for this goal—unyielding until death!
“Sun, I admit my mistake in blaming you before and apologize!”
Xuanzang bowed deeply to Sun Wukong: “Please, Sun, protect us and ensure we safely retrieve the scriptures. We depend on you!”
Xuanzang’s sincere attitude pleased Sun Wukong greatly.
Looking up at the now-quiet void, Sun Wukong knew the Immortal had departed.
Master, rest assured, I will not betray your expectations, he silently vowed.
“Monkey, your master must be incredibly powerful, right?”
Ever curious Zhu Bajie, now that the matter was settled, asked.
Previously, he had been too busy eating and drinking to speak with the Immortal.
He now regretted missing the chance.
The group rested on the spot.
Sun Wukong crossed his legs and glanced at Zhu Bajie: “Why do you ask that? Are you scheming against my master? Haha, pig head, I warn you, it’s no use. My Immortal master is very proud and looks down on your pig-like self.”
A brutal blow! A ten-thousand-ton hit!
Zhu Bajie felt utterly wounded: “Monkey, can’t you speak nicely? Must you tear me down like this? After all, I was once Marshal Tianpeng of Heaven’s Palace, I…”
“Enough! A hero doesn’t boast of past glories!”
There! Shut down with one sentence!
You little monkey, just wait. I, old pig, will succeed one day. I absolutely won’t let anyone look down on me.
