The veteran Pang had not anticipated the enemy to be so formidable; more precisely, it was the enemy’s light armor that was overwhelmingly powerful. Both Pang and Kasang were in the first squad, and among the enemy’s initial assault, the only two light armors not struck were those piloted by Pang and Kasang. The battlefield soon became chaotic, prompting the seasoned Pang to decide on a surprise attack against the enemy ship. As Pang and Kasang approached the enemy vessel, they unexpectedly spotted two other light armors belonging to their own side. Distinguishing friend from foe was straightforward—their own light armors came in various colors, whereas the enemy’s were pure white. What puzzled Pang even more was that these two light armors were also unaffected by the enemy ship’s gunfire.

Could they be traitors? This thought flashed through Pang’s mind first, and he contemplated whether to eliminate the two. However, their subsequent actions quickly dispelled his doubts. When Pang saw the oddly shaped light armor collide with one of the flying armors, his heart almost leapt out of his throat.

Was this pilot reckless? He had not expected such fierce determination from a soldier willing to sacrifice himself to create an opportunity for his comrades. The sheer force of the collision was immense—no matter how advanced the hydraulic buffering system, it was ineffective, and a fragile human body could never withstand such impact. Pang felt a rising respect mixed with a touch of grimness. The opponent’s strength exceeded his expectations. He glanced at Kasang and thought, “I shouldn’t have brought him along.”

The blue-and-white, broken-arm light armor moved with such agility and impeccable timing that Pang couldn’t help but exclaim, “What an incredible soldier!”

Then he noticed the black, four-armed light armor wobbling as it flew over. Pang’s eyes nearly popped out. Was he seeing things?

Impossible! How could anyone survive such a violent collision?

Fortunately, Pang was alert. When that light armor slipped into the flight passageway, he immediately grasped their intent and admired their cunning. Seeing the enemy’s light armors take to the air, Pang hurriedly signaled Kasang to stay close.

The two light armors clearly recognized Kasang and their own side, not the enemy.

Standing before the main control room door, the alloy door barred their path. Mu suddenly switched back to the original channel. The three received Mu’s message: “The control room’s defenses operate independently. A frontal breach will be difficult. I need three minutes.”

Ye Zhong responded, “Understood.”

Pang also grasped the situation and replied without hesitation, “Got it!” Yet he doubted three minutes would suffice to break through the Brown alloy door; as a connoisseur, he recognized its material at a glance. Still, he had no better plan and could only hope the soldier in the broken-arm light armor truly had a solution.

The ship’s internal corridors were narrow, leaving little room to dodge. If the enemy had a chance to fire, their skills would not allow them to miss. Yet the complex terrain provided Ye Zhong with an advantage, and he believed the enemy would dare not use high-damage weapons like the nano-magnetic gun here; such weapons would lead to mutual destruction.

No sooner had Mu finished speaking than the enemy arrived.

The three white light armors looked battered. Ye Zhong’s previous high-explosive rounds had clearly inflicted significant damage, at least visibly. Seething, the white armors unleashed a barrage of laser beams upon the group.

In such a confined space, there was no time or place to dodge. Ye Zhong had no choice but to shield himself, hoping his untested shield could endure.

The modest black shield suddenly expanded with a booming sound. A soft “zi” echoed as its edges shifted outward like building blocks, instantly growing several times larger and changing shape entirely. A fierce beast’s clawed relief majestically perched at the shield’s center, its two glowing red eyes piercing the black surface like ominous lights in the dark. The shield’s surface rippled with patterns resembling water waves—a sight Ye Zhong recalled seeing on Johnson’s light armor shield.

The laser beams striking the shield only caused the ionic layer to ripple continuously, like raindrops tapping a lake’s surface. Meanwhile, the beast’s eyes at the shield’s center grew brighter.

Ye Zhong finally relaxed; this shield was indeed impressive. Conventional weapons no longer posed a threat.

Ye Zhong, Pang, and Kasang formed a triangular formation around Mu, shielding him in the middle.

Pang’s light armor was a coffee-colored humanoid model with no remarkable features; its shield was small, requiring Kasang’s occasional assistance. Yet Pang’s positioning was ingenious—he shielded Mu while remaining within Kasang’s large shield’s protection. Pang’s counterattacks were razor-sharp, every shot hitting its mark, earning Ye Zhong’s newfound respect for the pilot. However, the enemy’s armor was so resilient that even Pang’s modified laser gun only left shallow dents.

Kasang’s light armor appeared somewhat crude, its humanoid face expressionless, manufacturer unknown—quite lazy, really. The enormous shield bore no decoration, resembling a large iron plate, but its edges were razor-sharp and exuded a deadly aura.

The enemy clearly perceived Ye Zhong’s group’s intentions and grew panicked. The lead white armor’s nano-magnetic gun raised slightly.

Ye Zhong panicked; he wasn’t sure if his shield could withstand a nano-magnetic beam.

With a swift motion, Ye Zhong’s “Fish” darted forward like an arrow released from a bow toward the three white armors.

Pang, startled, quickly shifted aside to cover the gap left by the advancing “Fish.”

Ye Zhong’s sudden advance shocked the three enemy armors, concentrating all firepower on him.

“Fish” kicked off the corridor walls repeatedly with its legs, zigzagging forward with such rapid changes in direction that the white armors faltered in confusion.

Ye Zhong had no idea how astonished everyone was by his performance. Pang and Kasang were dumbfounded—how could someone execute such high-speed maneuvers in such a narrow space? Was he even human? Pang was certain these maneuvers imposed strain far beyond human limits.

Terrifying.

That was the thought in everyone’s minds.

Part of this credit belonged to “Fish.” Its propulsion exceeded Ye Zhong’s expectations; the continuous turns were as smooth as flowing water. The environment also played a crucial role—without walls on both sides to push off from, a single engine could not have achieved this.

Even so, the feat was extraordinary.

Such dazzling agility placed immense pressure on the enemy.

For long-range light armors to be caught by close-combat models was a nightmare.

In panic, the three white armors threw caution to the wind, unleashing full firepower, including nano-magnetic beams.

Ye Zhong’s hand speed became vital, allowing him to perform complex maneuvers while maintaining other controls. Even amid swift turns, his shield remained steadfast before him.

Lasers, high-intensity heat lines, nano-magnetic beams—all firepower rained down like a torrential storm.

Ye Zhong bore the brunt; the shield’s ionic layer trembled violently, yet the beast’s eyes grew ever brighter. Suddenly, with a thunderous boom, the shield’s surface flashed red, and serrated laser beams lined its edges, making the shield appear as if it were ablaze.

The nano-magnetic beams that missed Ye Zhong triggered violent explosions, shaking the entire ship. The shockwave nearly knocked Pang and Kasang’s light armors off balance. Pang admired the unmoving blue-and-white broken-arm armor—it was remarkably composed under such conditions, clearly no ordinary opponent.

Ye Zhong had now closed in on the three white armors. At such close range, long-range weapons lost effectiveness. The three soldiers, evidently well-trained, simultaneously drew their laser swords, hoping to overwhelm the fearsome foe before them.

Ye Zhong’s calm expression resembled an ice sculpture; only the fierce burning battle intent in his eyes revealed his true state.

With a nimble spin, “Fish” dodged the enemy’s laser swords. The shield transformed into a weapon, sweeping like a great axe, while a laser lance stabbed at the enemy’s ribs, and a hyper-frequency magnetic blade silently slashed at the neck of an enemy light armor.

Pang, about to assist, saw Ye Zhong wielding three weapons simultaneously and groaned, “Heavens, what kind of monster is this?” Even without thinking, Pang could imagine the complex operations the pilot was executing within that single second.

The light armor produced by the Soldier’s Association was mediocre in close combat, a glaring contrast to their formidable long-range capabilities, in Ye Zhong’s view.

In an instant, the enemy light armor was slain. Its remarkable defense could not withstand “Fish’s” fierce assault.

The hyper-frequency magnetic blade shattered the armor into fragments scattering everywhere. The other two armors, realizing the danger, turned and fled.

Ye Zhong was about to pursue when he heard Mu’s voice: “It’s done!”

Turning back, he saw the main control room door had swung open wide.
