The difference in their speeds was unmistakable now. Ye Zhong possessed an unparalleled advantage in absolute velocity; to the human eye, he was barely more than a faint blur. Although Feng Su was already fast enough to also appear as a blur, the distance between them continued to widen rapidly.

Yet Ye Zhong was far from at ease. He kept moving in a straight line, but whenever he attempted to change direction, the inscrutable woman before him seemed to read his intentions effortlessly, always anticipating his moves with uncanny accuracy. This constant outguessing left Ye Zhong deeply troubled.

This was simply uncanny!

At the same moment, Feng Su’s surprise reached an intense peak. Since when had Black Horn become so powerful? A mere peripheral member was this formidable? Could it be that their side had been neglectful in monitoring Black Horn? Was their intelligence so grossly inaccurate?

The more she fought, the more Feng Su was shaken. The opponent’s strength was unlike any human’s, with extraordinary agility and reflexes, alongside a speed she could barely hope to match. Aside from a serious lack of technique, everything else was admirable! If someone with his attributes were to master Black Horn’s true combat skills, it would be terrifying indeed.

If Black Horn so desired, they could transform him into a martial arts expert in a remarkably short time.

She truly could not understand how Black Horn could have overlooked such a talent. Knowing well the forces behind Black Horn, their negligence bewildered her. Luckily, this astonishing Number 59 had not learned Black Horn’s truly terrifying killing techniques; otherwise, just the thought sent chills down her spine. Today’s misfortune would definitely have been hers!

In the cognition of the Orbital Circle, there was no such thing as the strongest power, only the most correctly applied power.

Only the proper use of strength could achieve the best results. Yet it was certain that, at present, those with the most powerful force were formidable martial artists, though that did not mean other professions were useless! From summoning a Light Armor to entering its cockpit, a martial artist could be killed several times over by a fighter in that span.

Never underestimate any power!

Two figures dashed after each other along a narrow path through the forest.

At that moment, Shang Yangyang’s triumphant voice rang out: “Heh heh, Ye, that old geezer spilled everything. This time we’ve really hit the jackpot! The Art Inheritor is quite something! I told you, with my methods, there’s nothing I can’t get out of them, though that old man is useless. I used over twenty techniques, and he answered every question…”

Ye Zhong, being relentlessly pursued by Feng Su, cursed loudly upon hearing this: “Shang, you bastard!” Not wanting to be bogged down any longer, Ye Zhong turned to meet Shang, intending to flee as far as possible.

Just as Ye Zhong turned to take a step, suddenly his foot caught!

Startled, he lost control and fell heavily to the ground, but his reflexes were sharp. He slammed both hands on the earth and sprang up like a spring, twisting his waist fiercely. Feng Su’s eyes shone with a strange light, her speed doubling; the eerie glow in her gaze left two flickering bright streaks trailing behind.

Almost the instant Ye Zhong regained his balance, the fierce woman lunged into his arms, her palm white and delicate as jade, growing larger and larger in his eyes, aimed squarely at his throat!

The more perilous the situation, the calmer Ye Zhong’s mind became, like ice and snow. His hand speed reached its limit; his right hand seemed to vanish and reappear instantly before his own throat, while his left elbow bent protectively over his heart and chest.

Even as an enemy, Feng Su couldn’t help but flash a look of admiration: to react so swiftly in such dire straits was truly impressive. Ye Zhong’s hand speed startled her greatly.

Yet it was not enough to stop her attack!

Ye Zhong grunted deeply; pain flared along his right ribs. A ruthless gleam flashed in his eyes as he shattered outward with both hands, thrusting towards Feng Su’s throat. Between life and death, Ye Zhong unleashed tremendous potential; the speed of his hands was almost beyond the limits of human vision.

Still, he failed to strike Feng Su, barely missing her face shield by the slimmest margin. Her astonishing foresight saved her again. In the blink of an eye, Feng Su arched her slender waist backward. The sound of fabric tearing echoed sharply. Her eyes filled with shock — in that split second, she sensed the breath of death close at hand. Before this moment, she had never imagined the Grim Reaper could be so near.

Ye Zhong seized the opportunity to leap high backward.

Feng Su straightened, heart still racing, but a strange feeling gnawed at her. What was this guy up to? In midair, there was nowhere to gain leverage. If she attacked then, he would have no defense! How could this previously clever man make such a foolish move? Could this be a trap?

Ye Zhong leapt incredibly high, his leg power unmistakable in an instant.

Feng Su immediately judged his landing and prepared to pounce forward. Whether trap or not, she was confident she could defeat him!

Then, suddenly, things changed. Out of nowhere, a blue-and-white Light Armor zoomed past the suspended Ye Zhong, vanishing in the blink of an eye!

Feng Su’s sharp eyes caught the armor’s shape almost completely in that split second. Her heart jolted violently, and she gasped in surprise. Could it be...?

She muttered to herself in disbelief.

Ye Zhong was held upside down by Shang’s right hand, coldly watching the woman who had injured him. Though physically inferior in many aspects, she had defeated him—indeed a terrifying woman, a fearsome Art Inheritor!

Shang flew deftly through the forest, her elegant movements surely causing even the top martial artists to sweat with embarrassment.

Outside the woods lay a vast, roaring river. Ye Zhong had never seen such a scene before. The breeze carried a moist scent; the wide lake surface sparkled with light, and various Light Armors of different shapes flew overhead.

Suddenly Ye Zhong felt emptiness behind him; his body began to fall, panic rising uncontrollably!

From his heart came Shang’s apologetic voice: “Ye, sorry, I got a bit carried away just now. My energy is depleted! I... I have no choice but to return to subspace...” Silence followed.

Though slow to anger, Ye Zhong could not help but curse loudly: “Shang, you bastard!”

Splash! Ye Zhong plunged straight into the water, the river forcing itself into his mouth. Poor Ye Zhong could not swim, struggling desperately! Fortunately, his mind was resolute; though panicked, he stayed calm, holding his breath and slowly moving underwater. His control over strength was remarkable, highly sensitive to changes in the water flow. Between life and death, his mind grew even calmer, gathering every detail around him, analyzing swiftly from past experience. His hands and feet tried various movements.

Shortly after Ye Zhong fell into the water, a purple Light Armor roared past the lake surface.

The airflow from the high-speed Light Armor stirred small waves on the lake.

A head surfaced from the water, gasping for air! It was Ye Zhong. His mask had fallen off underwater at some unknown time, and due to prolonged submersion, his face looked somewhat blue-tinged.

“Pah!” Spitting out water plants, Ye Zhong roughly grasped how to keep himself from sinking. His feet kicked rhythmically to stay afloat, though he had swallowed several mouthfuls of water.

Ye Zhong did not expect anyone to come save him!

He could only clumsily paddle toward the shore, groaning with pain from his wounds. He cursed Shang countless times in his heart!

Still, this did nothing to lessen the pain. If it were Mu, he believed this would never have happened! Only Shang could do such a thing. Ye Zhong smiled bitterly.

By the time Ye Zhong reached the opposite bank, he was exhausted like a puddle of mud; his calf muscles twitched with spasms. The fight with Feng Su had been intense and perilous, each move draining his spirit and strength. Injured and soaked in river water, the pain worsened. After struggling so long in the water, making it ashore was already a blessing!

He was now so fatigued he could barely move a finger, deathly tired.

The blazing star in the sky resembled a fiery orb. Ye Zhong’s body felt warm and drowsy; his eyelids grew heavier. Yet his instincts warned him this was no place for rest.

He never imagined he would one day be this weak! If he were on a junk planet now, even a hundred-toothed rat could gnaw him to the bone!

Suddenly, footsteps approached, varying in weight. Someone was drawing near. Ye Zhong was too weary to open his eyes. In his state, he was powerless to resist anything. Yet, despite the self-mockery, he tried to steady his breathing and conserve strength.

The newcomer came right up to him.

After a long silence, Ye Zhong was slightly surprised but remained vigilant, though he knew it was futile. Outwardly, he looked like a corpse, yet he felt his strength slowly returning with each breath.

Ye Zhong kept his eyes closed, hoping to lull the other into carelessness. In his state, even if he had a chance to strike, it would be only one blow at most! Only by making the opponent complacent could he hope for a chance to take someone down with him, if the newcomer truly meant harm.

Suddenly, Ye Zhong felt the stranger gently push his body.
